Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - Part 12

When it's just for less then 10 seconds what's the point? I can't see them doing anymore hair and make up just to stand there for a shot.

I’ve seen the cameo, though. It looks nothing like her hair in Dark Phoenix. There’s not a lick of black in it. It would make even less sense for her to have two radically different hairstyles in the same film. One’s short and spikey with black roots while one is long, wavy and completely white.

That would certainly be commitment. But probably not worth it overall.

Also looking at it [BLACKOUT]I don't think Jean is there. That's Probably not foreshadow but people will probably read into it that way [/BLACKOUT]

Can you send me the photo? Or the link? For study purpose :oldrazz:

Rogue, Emma, Jubilee and Psylocke have been ra*** by Fox these 18 years.
Im quite shocked you are acting otherwise

Yes, you right with them.
but i prefer them than a totally wrong Spidey (used like a Stark boy), a comedian Thor (and Hulk), a Cap like seen in Civil War or a Thanos with the dumbest plan ever.

I love how a few pages ago people were still saying that Deadpool isn't really an X-Men movie. Well...

Wade his own self confirms the Deadpool series is its own thing in this funny 10 year anniversary video.

Its a joke mocking of the MCU video.

Although one that he also mentions the X-Men *shrug*

That is a clear dig at the MCU's Avengers: Infinity War ads. But sure, see whatever you want to see. It's not like the movie this is promoting actually features the X-Men: Dark Phoenix cast or anything.

That's because Deadpool 2 has been FORCED into being an X-Men movie with these cameos and mansion scenes.

It feels more like the studio stamping the X-Men brand on it than it does an organic part of the story.

Now if only the main X-Men movies could actually be X-Men movies...

Even if X-Men: Dark Phoenix was the most comic accurate movie ever, this board has long ago decided it cannot be anything less than offense to fandom.

Funny thing is that it seems more likely the Deadpool team are the ones who are loosely embracing elements of the universe.

I never got the sense they wanted to shy away from it.

Thats your own biased projection shining through. No ones forced anything. All the Xmen cameos and jokes are organic and natural part of Deadpools shtick. Just because they set a few scenes at Xaviers mansion and referenced them is no way "forcing" Deadpool to become a main stream Xfilm.

I would argue it has the core tenants of being an Xmen film with the strong emphasis on family; that is a natural progession of the story though.

Do you know that Deadpool is a spinoff of the X-Men? It is based on a comic book that is a spinoff of the X-Men.

In terms of comics:

First Appearance: New Mutants, an X-Men comic book.

Subsequent Appearances: X-Force and Cable, X-Men comic books.

First Limited Series: Heavily featured Juggernaut, Black Tom Cassidy, Copycat, Garrison Kane, Department and focused on the aftermath of Tyler Dayspring abandoning the Tolliver identity.

Second Limited Series: Was a book that featured Deadpool stumble into the story of the lives of Banshee, Black Tom Cassidy and Siryn.

Commonly Paired With: Cable, aka the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Video Game: Features several X-Men and focuses on several X-Men characters.

Alternate Universes: Often X-Men universes, featured as Dead Man Wade.

That's ignoring the movies. It would be illogical to not keep him as an X-Men character when that is what he is.

The tweets on that account make it sound like its half her and half like an intern or something.

How was DoFP a satisfying ending for OT? 2-3 mins at the end..

In Logan, the X-Men presumably died/injured off screen (we're not even sure), then Xavier and Logan dies..

New trilogy just plain sucks, not even focused on the X-Men just Xavier, Erik and Raven and when we got the OT it was Logan oriented zzz

We probably won't get MCU X-Men for another 5 years minimum..

I can wait 5 years. I was here back in 2009 when I read online the original cast would be back for their fourth and fifth installments and, hey, I'm still waiting for Singer's take on X3. Which would now be Marvel's X-Men, but it should still be good.

And on the plus side, I've become a huge X-Men comic book fan in the past two years.

Yeah, I got the oh so subtle MCU 10th anniversary gag. I'm just pointing out that the character hisownself considers the Deadpool and X-Men films to be separate franchises. It's not a part of X-Men proper regardless of whether or not [BLACKOUT]actors from that series cameo for a table read.[/BLACKOUT]

I think the point is that Deadpool is trolling the MCU with his own movies. not with the X-Men universe.

Saying an 11 film universe or whatever is less funny then cracking jokes about his films like it was a long film series while its only just 2 films.
