Beast does what?
Something. At last he does something, lol.
It all sounds like crap though.

Eh, not buying it.
Well, that does sound very Kinbergish. X-Men have X-Factor's arc, Jean has the arc from Singer's original Phoenix, Beast is now Colossus. It is indeed faithful, just to the wrong comics. Then again, maybe this guy just didn't like it.
My source who thought this was better than Apocalypse also confirmed it.
Oh ok. Well I mean if they are indeed reshooting a lot of the film or just the 3rd act, maybe it'll improve it. It seems as thought the general consensus from people that saw the test screening was like it was a B.
Also I imagine a big CGI battle would be boring without completely finished cgi. Lol
I'm not really mad at the premise of the storyline either, rather just see it all unfold and judge for myself.

Good thing I don't let critics decide what I would like. Lol

Having similarities doesn't make something faithful especially if its taking inspiration from other stuff, not eXactly the core X-Men comics. Kinberg just takes bits and pieces and mashes things up as always and it ends up with a different and radical take from the comics.
Well critics nowadays especially with Rotten Tomatoes being a popular site for upcoming films, it matters whether you let them dictate what to watch or not. And this film could get a 0% but I'd still watch it as I watch every film of the film franchises I follow, regardless of my eXpectations. But what the critics are gonna say is gonna be a part of the initial word of mouth for the film.
You said it is indeed faithful when its not. How is faithful if it taking inspirations from other stuff instead of you know the Uncanny X-Men comics, not the X-Factor, Singer's X3 and Deadpool's Colossus.
