Emma Frost could say: "Oh, defintely. Some even have that cute teenager hope, believing things will be better next time around. or better the next time around, or the next time around....
How cute." - ScumB

Shakespeare right there.

After all teenagers are always hopeful for something to be better next time round, it's what they are best known for and usually happens around the time of puberty I believe.

they should totally use what you just said in this franchise. the xmen are slowly getting pathetic because there are no xmen films to look forward to in the present tense, the xmen are dead and hope seems pretty much lost on both the series and the forums. How about a Messiah Complex/Second Coming-inspired trilogy?

hope was kind of lost time ago, sadly. and it feels like this franchise has ended even before acually ending. (Deadpool aside, but even that movie adds more mess like the young cast appearing now of a sudden in present day, really pathetic and just proves how f**ed up Fox/Kinberg's approach is. They just dont give a damm about some "dignity" and coherence.

but here we are again with a Dark Phoenix addaptation, written by the same writer as X3 (this time without Zack Penn), and with Magneto and Mystique once again. Fox wont ever learn and move forward (in all senses). they are stuck in their limited vision, more focused on "the stars" and cheaper cast/concept/approach (no Hellfire club, no Shiar Empire, no Imperial Guard, no Emma frost return, less A-list x-men, and the list goes on)

I agree. Sorry I called you a ScumB

Hey now, don't criticize the X-Men movies for being non-comic accurate if you're going to criticize the timeline at the same time, after all, that totally ****ed-up makes no sense timeline the most comic accurate thing about these movies.

How cute :woot:

Are you always this condescending?:whatever:

According to the leaks, this isn't the case with Dark Phoenix. JLaw/Fassbender are 5th, at best, on the totem pole here. And the franchise's #1 star is retired and not appearing at all.

UPDATE: Reshoots for Fox’s X-MEN sequel DARK PHOENIX confirmed to be shot in Montreal where principal photography was filmed last summer.

Expected to shoot deep in fall as James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain will wrap on IT: CHAPTER 2 on October 20th.

Yikes. They’re cutting it close, if the reshoots involve effects heavy sequences.

I doubt they are. I think they're just regular reshoots of shots where dialogue needed tuned up most likely.

These seem to be more extensive than run of the mill pickups, given the amount of time involved.

Do we even know the amount of time involved?

I can't remember the exact number, but I recall it being between 3-6 weeks. The Hollywood Reporter also mentioned that the film had significant third act problems.

Since we're talking about "super producer" Simon Kinberg I'm not too worried about budgets* and scheduling**, though very much worried about that script and the direction.

*It's been said that the production so far has come under budget by $10Mil.
**However that November to February switch does give me a great deal of pause.

Reshoots are reportedly around four weeks, spread out. They're not shooting these all at the same time. They start filming some at the end of July. It seems Mcavoy and Chastain will have their segment shot in fall after they wrap on It: Ch 2. These are likely not extensive reshoots (since they wrap so near toward release) nor effects heavy since that same Hollywood report stated the cost for the reshoots themselves is allegedly under 10 million which is a normal budget for reshoots- (not that the film finished under budget for 10 million. The total cost for the film after wrapping principle photography was under budget which is good from a producing standpoint).

Kinberg likely shot all the major VFX shots first to give the long time-frame need for finalizing the look and also probably to have shots to include in trailers. These reshoots will probably have little to no VFX work considering the cost. Most likely dialogue scenes or non-effects action shots.

Interesting that its likely to be dialogue scenes when other reports have said these reshoots are because of third act problems and having to redo major visuals and background sets like Justice League. Some even suggested that the aliens would be completely redone so they dont look like Skrulls on request from Marvel Studios lol.

They can always move the release date again. :o anyways, it s weird they finished filming last year and would only start the reshoots like more or less 16 weeks before the release date. Those reshoots better be minor then lol.

Well the Predator trailer is out. This it's safe to assume the Dark Phoenix trailer might be shown at SDCC since Predator won't be a "big reveal" anymore.

Plot synopsis from "The Sun"

"When a solar flare hits them during a rescue mission in space, Jean Grey loses control of her abilities and unleashes the Phoenix. The Phoenix offers her the power to save her friends and herself. But back on Earth, a group of powerful mutants called the Hellfire Club start secretly manipulating Jean's mind. They tap into her dark side, but unfortunately aren't able to control what they have found there."

I have no doubt that the trailer will be shown during the SDCC
the fox just wants to make a "surprise" for the public, this is a film that knows very little or almost nothing, to a whole mystery around this, then the fox clearly is doing the opposite of what he did in apocalyse, where we had things in excess, if the trailer for dark phoenix is really good, and this is shown during the SDCC, it will generate a wave of comments on social networks, people will get anxious to see too, and soon after the fox puts in your channel on youtube.

That’s probably a plot synopsis of the comic storyline that the film is based on. I doubt that accurately describes the film. I wish it did, but likely nope.

Are we using the Sun now as the source? If the Hellfire Club is in the film, then they kept it hidden for a long time.
