The Disney acquisition has its pros and cons. Personally I'm much more concerned about the larger consequences on the industry of one studio having such a huge market share.

I think right now it's far too early to comment on what the acquisition means for the X-Men and FF. I'm slightly concerned that the films will take on the same bland, comedic tone of the MCU, but at least that's preferable to the bland, dramatically inert X-films under Kinberg. And I doubt Deadpool is going anywhere, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Everyone in here knows that they will be nothing like this. Your saltiness is quite grating. If marvel studios puts half the effort they put in their heroes they will alreasy be better than Fox X-men.

Angel
Kitty
Bishop
Scott
Bobby
Ororo
Psylocke
Rogue
Beast

The list of wasted X-men goes on and on......

the poor/lazy effort of some users shading Marvel is quite funny.

And its ridiculous that pic, when that second image is exactly a parody of Fox's X-Men :funny:

Marvel Studios will nail the looks of all the X-Men in 1 second lol. And lets not talk about the action....
MS's Rogue will destroy Fox's Rogue just in her first movie lol. Visually and powers wise.

Very bad news.

It's like to to have (at least) the heart of Claremont's run (Fox), throw everything and come back to the early flat Lee's stories if we are lucky (Disney).

After Disney raped Spidey, Cap, Thor etc... (with the only exception of Daredevil, but it's more a Netflix thing).

Oh well, we will have costumes!
:whatever:

Ah yes, ACTUAL fans of Spidey, Cap and Thor are HORRIFIED at their treatment at the hands of Kevin Feige. How DARE he rescue Peter from Avi Arad and turn formerly obscure characters like Cap and Thor into two of the most popular superheroes in the world!

Keep your hands off our mute, backround cannon fodder mutants Feige! All TRUE X-Men fans know that the only characters that matter are Mystique, Professor X, Wolverine and Magneto!

Cyclops should just be seen and not heard. :o

and killed after 20 min of a team movie lol

It'd be nice if the general audience loves Cyclops for a change

Hopefully they get someone the Tumblr users will fawn over like they do Chris Evans

Let's hope they put double the effort that Fox did in their world building and story telling because no MCU film except Winter Soldier has shown it can handle Xmens tone and thematic depth.

Black Panther had more thematic depth than 90% of Fox Marvel films so i think they will do ok :yay:

No it doesn't and yes it's one of the better examples but that had 0 to do with Fiege as he had more of a hands off approach with the movies tone.

Again WS is his best effort and it still doesn't compare imo.

Screw thematic depth. I just want to see likable and preferably comic-accurate X-Men fighting dinosaurs and Sentinels and aliens. :sly:

I think you need her if you're going to do Rogue and Kurt again. I hope they don't take the Spider-man route and decide to put important characters like those in the back burner for his knows how long.
That's what I'm fearing too, and I think it's even more likely to happen if Dark Phoenix is released... but I also understand that it would be insane to just shelve it.

I think that the Fox X-Men films certainly showed thematic depth, particularly in their first two flicks, with the depiction of the X-gene as a stand in for homosexuality. But we've been getting variations on the same story for nearly two decades with the same problems - Horrible costumes! Shoddy special effects! Wonky continuity! Magneto heel turns! Popular mutants represented as silent background characters! Mystique as uber-mutant! Unnecessary decade long time jumps with ageless characters! - popping up over and over again. It's time for a new story.

I loved the Fox X-men universe, but it really ended for me after Logan. Deadpool is clearly its own separate thing at this point and there was never any satisfying narrative reason to follow the younger cast after DoFP rather than the older cast. The only reason they follow the younger X-men is because the actors are younger...and that's just "meh" when there was so much more interesting potential to explore by going forward in the timeline.

I am really sad we probably aren't going to get an X-23 movie, though. That's the only post-Logan Foxverse movie I really cared about. It would be nice if Disney would just let Mangold make it on the side as long as it doesn't have explicit references to the Foxverse or whatever. I just want a standalone movie starring Dafne Keen to finish everything off on a somewhat less somber note than what Logan left off on.

So I guess based on the way you've viewed posters in the past, with this single post you have now officially become a Fox-Men troll who should go away.

Time to find a new passion. Good luck to you.

I’m happy Marvel is getting all it’s characters under one house, but I don’t think people should forget the path the X-Men made for these films, not forget the stellar films that have come from the franchise.

I cannot wait for Disney to take over X-Men and Fantastic Four and bring them into their cineverse. Hopefully in time to do a Secret Wars movie.

Well...I liked the first two X-Men movies: X-Men and X2: United, and I liked X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, but X3 and X-Men: Apocalypse were boring. X-Men Apocalypse was still better, but not by much.

I didn't miss Cyclops or Jean Grey from First Class of Days of Future Past...I understand they are major X-Men but I think adding them was unnecessary, especially if just for Dark Phoenix.

Since Mr Kinberg wrote both X3 and Dark Phoenix, and the spoilers are all pointing to the exact same plot (ie Jean Grey goes schizo instead of being possessed by the Phoenix entity), I think Dark Phoenix will suck.

And Jean Grey was way too powerful a character anyway. With her, the X-Men are unbeatable. She killed Apocalypse.

Rather bring in Emma Frost. And storylines from Joss Whedon's run on the X-Men.

Many of the X-films are watchable in their own right, but overall are vastly overshadowed as far as CBM's go. The X-Men have always been part of a much bigger world, but the Fox-verse has always left an impression of being thoroughly boxed in.

Same here. The potentials are astronomical, and unlike Fox, Marvel Studios is not afraid to explore the fantastical elements of the franchise. It's exciting to see what will come next.

I'm just still pissed we never got to see Paquin's Rogue and Marsden's Cyclops as superheroes alongside those characters in the gray area like Emma Frost and Gambit. So many wasted characters.

Some superhero firsts like gay Northstar and the trans-racial background for Psylocke (which IMO could be used as a transgender superhero as well). More from Bishop, more from X-23... etc.

A little bit of human-mutant interaction on the big screen, mutant riots, more sci-fi and technology with Beast, idk...

My Fox X-Men list includes:
1. X-Men
2. X2
3. Days of Future Past (X4)
4. Logan (Wolverine 3)

Maybe stick X3 after X2 for continuity's sake??? Oh X-Men continuity...

I disagree and think IM is as good as or better than X2.

Actual fans of Spidey, Cap and Thor (and fans of movies in general) are really disappointed by Marvel Studios.

Yes, if you for 'fans' mean the Feige's fans who read stories on wikipedia pages and search in google for images 'cause the important thing is the popularity (and the money grossed by film), ok you are right.

but for me, to be a fan of Spidey it's not about that.

Does critical acclaim not matter anymore? Because you do know Marvel Studios does that one too.
