I'm not arguing that Marvel won't take better care of the lesser X-Men than Fox, of course they will. I'm arguing that some fans needs to stop acting like Marvel Studios are their personal Jesus that will fulfill all their wishes.

In a few years, we will all be in this subforum complaining about how Marvel keeps wasting X, or how they ruined Y, and wondering what they were thinking when they turned Z into comic relief. It's inevitable.

It's more then that

Other then Wolverine & Deadpool the X-MEN are a after thought. X-MEN were the coolest super heroes ever assembled. That's why the movie came out decade + before Justice League & Avengers. But in today's time nobody really cares.

People think Wolverine = X-MAN

New cartoon better comic writers/artist maybe a video game.

X-MEN will be popular again.

Feel like I've been in the bizzaro world for so long. The Avengers are cooler than the dam X-MEN it's ridiculous

That's not saying much, though, is it? Fact remains that Marvel is still not using them to their full potential.

I'm just saying, fans who are expecting characters like Psylocke, Angel or freaking Dazzler to get the Captain America, Iron Man or even the Hulk or Black Widow treatment are only setting themselves for a disappointment.

Who on this board has said they expect Angel ir Dazzler to get Ironman treatment? NONE! Lol

Are u twisting users words now or what?

This is reaching big time lol. Its like whathever little positive thing users expect from Marvel Studios, a new user twists it and turn it into a negative :funny: Its getting out of hand

And who's eXpecting that anyway? I'd be fine with Psylocke, Angel, Gambit, Dazzler, Polaris, Jubilee getting a role as big as Hawkeye, Wanda, Vision in the MCU films. And you know at least they would be part of the X-Men. Something Fox couldn't do in forever.

Nope. I'd take a Spice Girls musical or Mamma Mia 3: Donna Rises than that.:o

You will be singing along to Dazzler when it comes out and the tunes are so catchy. Maybe even skipping around in the aisles like the people in Mamma Mia are doing in the streets, even though I'm sure Dazzler will have better dance choreography than that.

Quite possibly.

Marvel could make X-MEN, X-FORCE, X-FACTOR and various other films, and there are still characters who wouldn't be developed to their full potential.

They can focus less on Magneto and Xavier and more on the core X-Men, but audiences probably aren't going to be digging Wolverine as a supporting character, and even if they focus on a few characters (Storm) who have not been used to their potential, there will be others who get the "shaft". There's the chance they could develop some of them in other films (Storm in BLACK PANTHER, for instance or Rogue in CAPTAIN MARVEL sequels), but there will always be some kind of limitation.

Yeah... it seems like some fans are expecting Marvel to just scrap all their other heroes and make nothing but X-Men movies for the time being. "A Storm solo! A Wolverine solo! A Dazzler musical! X-Men Red and Blue and Gold! X-Force! Deadpool 3! An X-Men movie starring absolute nobodies like Forge and Siryn and Sunfire's sister!"

They don't realize that, from now on, we will only get one or two X-Men movies every four or five years, and that these movies will (for obvious reason) have to focus on only a handful of characters.

I swear I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's just... you guys are really setting yourselves up for disappointment.

Is that any different than what we have now?

Gambit, Kitty Pryde, Multiple Man etc have never come out.

So we have gotten a X-MEN film every 2 or 3 years and then Wolverine solos in between.

Exactly they have totally forgotten about the 7 other franchises that Disney Marvel have. Fiege even admitted he didn't know what he's going to do with the X-Men or FF because he's so busy with what he's doing now. People believe he's really going to add 5 + new spinoffs of X-Men along with them cameos in other properties? :loco:

X-Men are with someone who might do a better job but really it's strange some have convinced themselves each main and B list X-Men will have a stand alone movie. I think they're really in for a rude awakening if that's the case.

Big applause gif, lol.

We have no idea what Marvel will do. The only thing we have is their track record and the quantity of movies they have made in 10 years. So that alone, in comparision to Fox, makes Marvel studios approach bigger than Fox's 18 years approach.

Wanda has appeared in 3 movies already, while Kitty only in two.
same with Vision.
same with Black Panther.
same with Gamora.
same with Nebula.
....

To think that Marvel will use the X-Men much more than Fox is not wishfull thinking, its just more realistic than to expect Fox to use the secondary x-men more than twice. :funny:

so lets move into the next topic already lol

Even if it every 3 years and Marvel does a better job with most of the mutants they use than Fox did in 20 years do you honestly think fans will be disappointed. The MCU is huge. People are being realistic. I haven't seen anyone expecting a X-men movie every year.

Marvel wont do just X-Men team movies. We can be sure that they will do team and solo movies too, at least 2 for the first years.

Once Marvel get their best characters, their future schedule will be quite different, I get the feeling. There will be a long transition, sure, but after 6-7 years (with the inevitable sequels to Black P, Captain M. Spiderman and co) it will be quite interesting for us, long time x-men fans.

along with them cameos in other properties? :loco:
This is another thing that bothers me... if it were up to some fans, they would turn every new MCU release from now on into an unofficial X-Men movie. Storm replacing Nakia as T'Challa's love interest, Rogue showing up out of nowhere and sending Captain Marvel into a coma, Iceman and Firestar becoming Spider-Man's crimefighting buddies... wtf, no. It's so obvious that they only care about the X-Men.

Lies. Hyperbole. Please stop lying. Maybe there's a number of crazy posters on some obscure message board that's asking for 5+ new spinoffs of X-men, there's certainly posters on here too with unrealistic expectations but for the most part people are NOT expecting any of that to be released alongside MCU's current offering.

I'll be the first person to complain but as of now Marvel Stud10s handle their heroes better. And that's why I want to see them adapt the X-Men. I just hope they don't pull a Mj or Aunt May in them.

An uncanny X-Men film every 2 to 3 years is fine to me. I don't need solos, New Mutants, X-Force, X-Factor, eXcalibur, eXiles, Alpha Flight, Generation X and a mutant team outside of the X-Men.

Also I don't want Storm, Rogue, and the rest to be supporting characters in non X-Men films unless its an Avengers film like that Infinity Wars.

And I haven't seen people wanting Storm to replace Nakia. Black Panther is brought up because of the fantastic job they did promoting and celebrating african culture, so it would be a place where Storm can be introduced having her african origin duly respected. Then joining the X-Men movies.

And I haven't seen people wanting random X-Men poping up in random Marvel movies. Only a very few that make sense for their history and origin, like Rogue, Logan and Ororo.

Lies. Hyperbole.
Well, tell that to the people who have actually suggested the movies on that crazy list I posted. I didn't make anything up. Not even the part about Sunfire's sister.

giphy.gif

hyperbole is the last thing left when they dont know any other way to detract Marvel's potential.
let their hyperboles continue if they feel better this way lol

I'm over Wolverine bashing because I feel it'll be handled better in MCU.

But I honestly feel he'll be the only solo character to get a spin off

Literally who is asking for Marvel to scrap their entire catalogue to just make X-Men movies?

Why are you trying to make people who are excited about the Marvel prospect look like unreasonable naive fanboys?

FWIW I don't care about X-Men solos, I want to see the X-Men... but I wouldn't object to like a Storm solo movie for example.

Facts. Realism. Something many here seem to be lacking. And what purpose would Storm have in a BP film if not to set up being a love interest? How dumb would that be? Shoehorning Rogue to put Captain Marvel into a coma after two movies and an extended cameo doesn't make sense to their plan of making her a co-leader of the Avengers.
It's great to have those connections and lord knows I'd love to see that storyline for Rogue but it is to much at the detriment of Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel.

There's nothing wrong with these ideas specifically a Wolverine v. Hulk film I'm just simply stating not to put all the faith in Fiege as even he has made missteps (Mandarin was a mess for example). I'm not saying anything that hasn't been reiterated by several regular posters here.

It's more then that

This is true I just don't want the team as an after thought anymore. Give me Danger Room training, give me mission briefings, give me X-Men as a family hanging out, supporting each other... no more X-Men where the team is the background to Xavier/Magneto origin stories (FC), X-Men are a ghost from the future with minimal screentime (DOFP) X-Men still not formed and Xavier doesn't even want to form them (Apocalypse)...

I think X2 is the one that hit the most satisfying balance there.

Pretty much. Too many A-listers not enough screentime to go around. Its going to be a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. If they make good movies those issues wont matter though.

So, I’m thinking the United Nations are the film stand-in for the Galactic Empire. They hold a hearing in the third act to decide the fate of Jean (and maybe all mutants) after the devastation she causes while at her house in the second act. Then, the final fight on the moon from the comics is loosely adapted when the aliens try to kill all the world’s leaders and the X-Men defend them until Jean’s the only one left standing. She, of course, sacrifices herself after giving into the Phoenix one last time. Maybe even one of the world leaders will be named Prime Minister Neramani or something.

It’s all speculation, obviously, but we ironically haven’t really had much of that here; a speculation thread, of all places!

I'm an MCU fan and I'm happy that the X-Men are finally coming home. I love some of them and I can't wait to see what Marvel does with the property. I'm just trying to be realistic.

Literally who is asking for Marvel to scrap their entire catalogue to just make X-Men movies?
Oh, you know... people. *insert vague hand gesture here*

No one is. But some fans with their crazy expectations are acting like that's what will happen, even though they don't realize it.

Exactly what I was thinking of when I said that some fans only care about the X-Men. I guess it's only bad when their favorites characters get mistreated.
