She’s human in literally 2 scenes. Chill out, it doesn’t make sense (highest paid actress in the world that hates makeup can call all the shots she wants) but it’s such a small part that it doesn’t matter.

For the record, I think it’s silly too but in the world of filmmaking where actors do have demands, the reality is the reality. A small part is a small part.

I was expecting her not to transform in the X-Mansion where it makes no sense for her to transform. If these are your excuses, than it just shows how garbage this film is.

See the movie, then let’s talk and pass judgement rather than basing it on 4 minutes of a characters appearance? Sound like a deal?

Is it really expected that she be in blue form the entire time when it’s already been revealed how much Lawrence absolutely hates the process? We were never going to get it, no matter how hard anyone tried. But we’re 3/3 and probably 7/15 minutes total, out of a nearly two and a half hour movie.

I expect Mystique to be in her true form when it makes sense for her to be in it. Kinberg should've written a different scene if he couldn't convince Lawrence to agree to undergo the makeup for her final appearance as this character.

There are plenty of ways they could've worked around this. Hell, at this point why didn't they just CGI all the blue **** onto her? Or did Lawrence also have a problem wearing tracking dots or a mocap suit?

Why waste money where it can be funneled elsewhere? Lawrence is an expensive whiney brat. She also has demands for actual face time. It’s not unheard of, Milla Jovivich had a similar clause in a few of her contracts around 07-09, All of her appearances in a certain time frame had some weird digital airbrushing that she diemanded. It’s not uncommon.

Then don't come back when your contract was already done.

The question is why? Apocalypse has already proven that JLaw's face-time there added nothing to the film's box office nor to its critical score. The previous films have also proven that they have to write around her demands (something @GuestStar2004 refuses to acknowledge).

Just like making Mystique a leader of the team, and just like Werewolf Beast played by flatter than diet coke Nicholas Holt, and just like none of the characters aging at all 30 years later.

Heck, I even think JLaw's Mystique has made McAvoy's Xavier and Fassbender's Magneto weaker characters.

Kinberg didn’t have that much of a say in how often she appears ina nd out of makeup. Remember the bosses I mentioned, above him? Studio heads like to stay on actor’s good side especially when said actor has as much power as they do. Remember when I mentioned Fox as being rather backwards as being the studio run by Hollywood rather than the other way around which is how it’s supposed to be? Imagine if anyone at Disney were to try the stunt she does, Batista having tried (and if it were a real situation, would have failed and sealed his fate as an actor) before finding out he didn’t really have to and stayed quiet until the Gunn reveal.

Her being in J-law form or blue form is not the basis of this movie for Christ sake ..she is a shapeshifter she actually be in whatever form she wants to be in!!
I really think this is a desperate attempt of the detractors of this movie to shift the focus on a gripe that has been a gripe since dofp and apocalypse ..I didn’t hear anybody complaining about j-law being in non-blue form in first class back when no one knew who Jennifer Lawrence was!!!!

First Class gives a good reason. Xavier wanted her to do it so she could conform to normal society. It isn't until she gets close to Magneto that he tells her to screw society and be herself, which was what she always wanted. That's the difference.

it is serious that they are again debating the old problem "why mystique does not turn blue all the time"?
this seems a little desperate to criticize only, it is already an old "problem" that everyone here knows all the reasons why this happens.
I find it funny to see some try to turn it into a surprise ... and the worst now the movie will be garbage because the mystique is not blue in the mansion..OH GOD
