Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

"Mutant and Proud."

But you're also answering questions that aren't even addressed to you where you're not quoted, so maybe that's not my fault.

That stupid slogan from FC came to mind when I read that Mystique is in human form when in private. Wasn't her whole thing embracing her mutant identity at one point? She even had a falling out with Wolfman Hank when he tried to cure himself of his very minor physical mutations. I guess we're to believe that the now fiftysomething-year-old Raven doesn't care about all that radical mutant stuff anymore.

Let's not forget Sophie said that she got the role because she had more IG followers, there was a more qualified actress also in the running, it was between them, and Sophie got it because she was more popular. Rumour is that Tye couched for Singer. Horrible if true.

Shawn Madden @Wonder-Kahhhhhnnnn‏ @neddamnwahs
From what I heard, Zimmer's score is excellent. (Shocker!)

It's not. It's Zimmer. :oldrazz:

Guy's got nothing on any of the main-series composers so far other than Jackman. Ottman or Powell or bust babyyyy.

Why are you guys trusting Simon Kinberg? He said Fant4stic is not a disaster, Cyclops and Xavier weren't getting killed off in X3 and Mystique came up with the name "X-men." He’s a old white man that can’t make a decent script on his own so he spreading fake rumours to get people hyped.

STOP LISTENING TO THIS GUY!

Sophie was talking about Game of Thrones. And as for Tye, i think we should give the guy more credit then that.

Tye is one of the best of his generation (see both Mud and Joe). (Even if i think that Dylan O'Brian would have been a good choice too)

I don't like much Sophie, she missing charisma, that's true.

But she was cast in what, 2015? I think she was a bit more popular then.

And so?

Fox cast Sophie due to Game of Thrones. I think GoT is more relevant than number of Instagram's followers.

Yeah that was kind of my point. He said she wasn't popular in 2011 but she wasn't even a thought for the role then. She and GOT gained a lot more popularity by the time she was cast.

Sounds like she wasn't happy with the focus on Jean :hehe:

No, that's not it at all.The film is called Dark Phoenix, so there would be focus on Jean.

Storm is in dire need of more development and depth, we need to know the reasons she does what she does. We've not really had much insight into the character.

I'm not expecting much in the way of development for Storm in Dark Phoenix but I do hope some of her dialogue makes it into the finished film.

Seems like picking the low hanging fruit. The same dead horse complaints about Mystique. She is not making or breaking this thing.
It’s true so it can be brought up as much as we want. We won’t pretend she isn’t in the movie for your convenience.

At least it seems agreed upon that she’ll suck, so now the argument shifted to she’s not in it much, she won’t make or break it.

And you’re right — there are bigger problems that can very well break this movie.

Can't say I'm surprised. Another afterthought character standing around doing nothing.

She said Storm has been around longer than Black Panther. No she has not. Storm made her debut in the 70s.

Pretty sure she was talking about in the movies. Which is why she said she's due for her own film.

I think she meant around longer on the big screen. I doubt she knows the comic-book chronology of all these characters.

How is that merit for anything when Black Panther is Marvel's first black superhero?
