Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

You'll realize that ignorance is bliss.
LOL I don't think that came out the way that you thought it would have.
Haven't seen Bryan Singer correct any of these publications when they called him an "overseer". So, it really isn't Kinberg's job to police what articles write, is it? Especially when they write a lot of stuff, make many assertions, as well as opinions. I don't see how that helps him get a directing gig. You don't need a title of "overseer" to land a directing gig. As anyone in the industry will tell you, "There is no one route to become a film director". Every director had their own unique career path. Kinberg's history of being a collaborator in the industry & successful producer seemed to have helped him there.
Kinberg did use his "overseer" position in these films to land the directing gig for Dark Phoenix so whatever excuse you come up with is all moot.

The IMAX special trailer for Dark Phoenix and the franchise was pretty amazing. My showing loved it.
If I'm being honest my showing was kinda eh on it. A guy even yelled out "rent it".

That aside, I really liked it as well. The last visual of the raptor in IMAX looked stunning. I will definitely be going back there to check it out.

A quick side note, what is up with the ridiculous amounts of trailers in front of movies now? There's an extended preview of Godzilla, Dark Phoenix, and 5-6 more regular trailers before Endgame. I remember seeing the Dark Knight and only sitting through the trailers for Harry Potter 6, and Watchmen then the movie started. That's how it should be.

When plain T-shirt’s look better than the actual movies uniform... we have a problem.

Giving me serious Scarlett Witch vibes. I love it!!:hrt:

The only bummer for me is that’s not how her hair is styled in the movie (parted down). I guess the pushed back thicker curls are a nod to the style in TAS and the comic, but I much prefer this look.
I thought that they might have styled her hair back like that to help with the cgi of her floating hair maybe? I’m not that much of a fan of the pushed back butch look.

And you’re right about the Scarlett witch look, do you think it was intentional?

interesting this photo of the magazine, I want to know how the powers of the phoenix will work
It looks like she'll rip his head off lol.

Yeah, these people the doing hair styling and wigs are professionals, and having worked around hair myself, I’m pretty sure it’s intentional.

They probably tested out a bunch of different looks to see which one looks most effective with the CGI add ons. And it does look really stunning what they’ve done to her hair in post (if you know anything about animating hair, you know how hard it is). It makes sense if you’re going to make hair float, you have it going backward anyway so to naturally have it already going in that direction, opposed to it being split in the middle, which wants to fall forward, being pushed awkwardly to the sides or back. It’s just the actually look I’m so so on, but Sophie is a beautiful gal anyway and pulls it off.

I just think that the one above suits her a lot better :hrt: as for the Wanda comparison not sure. I mean at this point there the same character lol.

I like the disintegration effect, it similar to the last stand version (which I enjoyed) but there is the fire/molten effect is great; it like she is transfering the heat whiting her to them.
I also like the purple/pink heatwaves/flame that surrounding her.

Matter made by the biggest Brazilian site about movies (they are known for always criticizing the x-men franchise and being very tame with the MCU)
they were invited to watch 30 minutes of the movie, and basically liked what they saw
praised why you could see that the movie is different from the X3, really the focus is totally jean / phoenix
praised the performance of sophie and tye
for them the team works very well in the film (better than in the previous films)
the interaction between the characters is a strong point of the film
the action for them is good but at least in that view it's still a little "no-impact."
according to them the film seems to be good and tells in a dignified way the story of jean.
