Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

can i imagine what the team that is working in darphoenix should be
I do not doubt if next year this movie is "leaked" online.

What was the point of *finally* releasing a trailer with the February date only to push back the film again 2 days later? Ridiculous, just put it out or don't put it out at all at this point. And what about New Mutants lol?

Why would they want to do that though?
Possibly, it could be to make a big divide between the FOX movies and returning the XMen to the MCU.

would not it be easier, move allita to June? is to keep DP in February?
or even advance DP for January?

After all, do you still think this movie is going to be released? I think not, probably in March they should announce new date change.
I already accepted that I will never see this film, so I suffer less.

Alita is an unproven property with a niche fanbase. It doesn't have Cameron directing it. It's Robert Rodriguez directing based on Cameron's original draft and notes.

They probably want to give it more chances to succeed and think that can happen in February rather than a crowded summer season.

I mean look. It's not like studio executives know what they are doing all the time. Look at The Predator. They thought they were fixing the movie based on test screening reactions. Instead, they just made it worse.

When it comes to Fox or Warner Brothers... you always have to account that stupidity could be a big part of the problem.

Hate to say it.....but it sounds like they want to kill this movie. The studio is producing all the bad press and rumors about it.

Are you saying that they're intentionally doing this? In that case are the Reddit leaks from the studio and not a lone employee? Wouldn't it just be easier to quietly shelve the movie and decide what to do with it later or do you think their plan is to release it D.O.A. and hurt the brand on their way out?

I was just about to bring that up. Fox is just screwing their properties up left and right. I was one of the few on the fence about the acquisition but then I came to terms with it. Now I'm looking forward to it even more.

They're just incompetent. The move will come out, I'm sure of that, but they'r continuously setting it up for failure.

but they could not choose other dates? or are pre-established dates
for example, by DP for January and allita for February or March?

I think that was the case... but because of the leak of the trailer... marketing probably and automatically scrambled to release the actual trailer... only to then find out that the executives were hoping--just like you said--to quietly shelve the movie.

This has been one whole big miscommunication during the acquisition phase between Fox and Disney.

I'm gonna give this one to the people hating on the movie. I mean this is just a ridiculous move.

But that's the thing... this is not some kind of intern releasing an indie movie trailer without realizing the company wanted to wait a bit longer. This is a 100 mil+ project with 20,000+ people involved. There really isn't an excuse for this.

The talk for years was that people at FOX sabotaged X3 out of spite. So the idea that someone would do it again doesn't surprise me.

Hellboy was delayed too.
but at least they did not release trailer before that confirming another date

launch a trailer announcing release for february 14th
this trailer released on a famous TV show in the US.

Let's just say James Corden's show is not that popular. So I doubt many people saw the trailer via his show, which is about the only positive I can see from this mess.

Kinberg is a double agent of Disney. His talents are being used to undermine Foxmen and he doesn't even know it.

Kinberg has been biding his time, sucking "Since 2006TM", waiting for the go ahead from Feige. Darn you Feige!

Or the people that were (or still are) working on them, are not very good...

If they were going to quietly shelve it, why spend the money on the reshoots?

I can maybe buy incompetence of this level. though after this I'm more convinced that Disney streaming or Netflix would be the best case scenario now.

Hell i wouldn’t be surprised if we get a new Cloverfield Paradox situation where it all a suddenly drops on Hulu after the Superbowl.

It's almost like Dark Phoenix fans felt a sense of victory yesterday when the trailer came out, only to have it snatched away a mere 24 hours later when it was pushed back.

It's like football fans during the World Cup when their losing team finally scores a goal to equalise, only for it to be disallowed because the person was offside. :hehe:

I feel that this film in a few years will be in some matter with this title:
"know the movies that were recorded but never released"

SAD,very sad

Exactly, that movie's not on any of the GA's radar at all at this point and has had an uncontroversial production. DP has had media coverage going back months already with that EW cover article and was originally supposed to come out in another month. Not to mention the state of flux the studio is in and their handling of other X related films on the docket like New Mutants.

That's an excellent question! Which could very well be that my assumptions are wrong. The question now, is are they still continuing reshoots? Or is the reshoots an X-cuse to pull back on the film's release?

Wow, I completely forgot they had the EW article and everything. Jesus, they just keep digging themselves into a whole with this one.

it's something so crazy
that you go in the page of the twiter of the fox and still it is the post with trailer is the announcement for the day 14
LoL
