Nice.

But that’s probably in reference to:

Jean being assaulted by voices (the telepathic thoughts of everyone else) after she’s turned into an uncontrollable human Cerebro by the Force’s power expansion.

Lol.
Jean was already fully Dark Phoenix, having already devoured the D'Bari star (Uncanny 135) when she later flew down to her childhood home and returned to being good girl Jean (Uncanny 136). It's there that she was still "hearing voices" from her family (and everyone else around her) with her telepathy on the fritz.

With all the things Kinberg has kept for this version of Dark Phoenix from his first failed attempt at her in The Last Stand, this is the thing he erases? Jean see-sawing back-and-forth between good girl Jean and maleficent Dark Phoenix? What he keeps instead are the second incarnations of: Arclight/Psylocke/Callisto, Kid Omega, Dark Phoenix coat, duplicitous Xavier, Mutant convoy, death of the X-men leader at her childhood home, etc etc etc. Talk about not learning the right lessons.

We'll see. I personally don't think the bulk of Sophie's preparation, reading a big book of schizophrenia and listening to youtube videos with multiple voices, will just be contained within what...the 3-4 minutes of that scene? Otherwise Sophie and Kinberg are just overselling this aspect (wouldn't be the first time for the latter).

:woo:

I didn’t like The Last Stand but Kelsey Grammer wa great as Beast.
Good to see him cameo in DOFP.
Kelsey is (Im afraid) ten times a better casting choice than all young x-men between FC and XMA. easily. and as much as I like the young cast.

but Kelsey is one of the best casting choices of this franchise. Top 3, Id say.

I think he would have been better suited as Scott.
Kelsey Grammer has such a big personality, Hoult totally pales in comparison.

Not really. he lacks range and charisma.

And what’s the “range” of films you’ve seen with him? Just the X-Men movies? Where TOB said and I agree that he lacks the real energy of the character? He’s a good actor but hasn’t nailed the character of Beast quiet right.

You don't know all the films I've seen in the past. I've seen Jack the giant Slayer, Mad Max, Warm Bodies to name a few for your information.

I think he's an average actor. Don't like it? get over it. Come back to me when he collects his Oscars.

I don’t know, hence why I asked :word:
Seems personal opinion and majority public opinion differ. Not referring to majority public as this forum.

You were being condescending as if I I didn't say any films other than X-Men.

And I was obviously speaking for myself.

I think we’ve had enough instances of you taking what I have said out of tone to establish that condescension, sarcasm, irony etc. are not the go-to’s when conversing with you, to the point where an admin posted in agreement lol. I believe there was a “Drax of the Hype” being thrown around. Excuse that they weren’t at the forefront of thought as I thought you were speaking literally, so I responded literally. Meaning I was really asking if the only movies you’ve seen of his were the X-Men films, where yes he does lack what you’re saying.

One thing both Shipp and Smit-McPhee made clear: this movie is all about the X-Women. "I was really excited when I read through the script when I first got it because Storm is kicking ass," said Shipp, "She is kicking all the bootay."

While the character was just learning how to control her powers in the the previous film, 10 years later, she's a pro. According to Shipp, this Storm is a "huge part of the X-Men" and "knows exactly what she's doing."

"Women are kicking ass and taking names," she added of the new movie. "Also fighting each other, which is sad, but it happens. It's really cool to see the girls ganging up and really fighting for each other."

Smit-McPhee said Nightcrawler and a lot of the guys in the film are "kind of just supporting that lead woman [Sophie Turner's titular character] which is a very beautiful thing."

"We do have those moments where Nightcrawler gets to reveal a certain arc that would lead and connect with Alan Cumming's portrayal," he said, calling that iteration "a more vicious" and "demonic" version of the character. According to Smit-McPhee, the transformation is "spurred by the frustration of so much death going on in front of him and the frustration of not being able to save certain people."

Kodi also revealed what it was like stepping into the comics' classic costumes for the new film, calling it a "badass" experience. "They're so simplistic and so powerful at the same time," he added, "which is something the tone of our movie is reflecting."

The death of a major character also changes Beast's alliances, as [SPOILER ALERT, but not really because the director spilled it] Jean Grey is responsible for killing Mystique, Hank McCoy's longtime friend and sometimes-love interest.

"There's a new side to Beast and a break apart of the X-Men in this movie because of what happens to Raven" Hoult told TooFab. "Hank believes Charles' motives and way of working aren't always correct and he takes that as a sign that he needs to break apart and go about redemption, revenge all those sorts of things, in a different way."

So tell me, how many oscars have won Avengers' actors?

How does the acting of Avengers actors affect how good (or bad) the acting in an X-men movie is?

If JLaw delivers a bad line in X-men: Apocalypse, should I go: "Oh ok that's bad, but you know what's really bad? When Jeremy Renner said that one line one time."

whats the tea with some x-men fans soooooooooo pressed with MCU actors and Marvel's huge success? :funny:

I guess it must really hurt seeing the whole world on the Marvel Studios side lol.
at the end of the day, if their success really hurt, these same fans can only blame Fox, Bryan and Singer for not getting that big love for the X-Men.

he's a good actor.
He just lacks what it takes for a memorable Beast.
same as Kinberg lacks for a memorable role for Beast.

That I agree with. I liked him fine in First Class, but they never wrote him as growing into how we imagine Beast. He was always that insecure nerdy guy, which I know Jane Goldman viewed as a starting point and not his defining characteristic.

I guess this is what happens when these writers only read 5 x-men comics. they just didnt have the time to actually know the characters and their key qualities

Don't try to change the meaning

He said that he is a bad actor cause he didn't win an Oscar.

I still remember when some fans said Fox made the better comic book movies because Logan got nominated for an Oscar, though :halo:

Obviously this is no longer gonna be brought up after Black Panther's success with the Academy.
