thanks for the insight, but honestly I just have to see your posts as equal to anyone else's because i don't have any proof that you're actually involved with the production. The merger and the two parter thing have nothing to do with each other whatsoever. I don’t think once Disney came on board they held him back in any way and I actually think he could have benefited greatly if they had smacked his hand a little here and there with his decisions in the editing room.
Also, so much money wasted in production, so so much. So many alternate scenes, alternate shots and the entire third act that would have essentially gotten the same reception but with less character spectacle but more of a grand flare.
Ultimately, this film could have been more financially successful if it stayed its originally shot course for November or February.
We'll it's called an action thriller, so if Kinberg has one thing going for him, it seems like he can handle action ok. He'll be a co-writer again for this movie. I don't know what studio this is under, but hopefully he'll have a better run this time. He's definitely learned some stuff after Dark Phoenix.Yesterday Variety reported that Kinberg Cast Diane Kruger in his new spy thriller, 355.
Jessica Chastain is the star of the film, she is also joined by Sebastian Stan Penelope Cruz,Edgar Ramirez Lupita Ny'ongo and Bingbing Fan.
So whatever happens with DP, Kinberg has got one more turn at the director's chair coming up.

Lies, there is a literal trainwreck in the movie!I literally just got out of my screening.
It was not a trainwreck, but it was not particularly good either.
Are the rumors that the third act/climax was completely reshot true? Because if it is, thank goodness for those who interfered because that was easily the best part of the movie — the action was snappy and well-choreographed — things we’ve never seen with this franchise before.
I’ll post more of my thoughts on the other thread but I just wanna say it here: I hope this movie serves as a wakeup call not just for Hollywood but for Simon Kinberg himself: he is a hack who got his gigs not on intrinsic merits.

Just really embarrassing.Simon Kinberg should never be allowed to adapt comic book material again. He ruined the Phoenix Saga TWICE!
He tried to make Storm this angry dismissive character, for what little there is, TWICE now to the point where it was brought to his attention that’s not who she is and he took it as news and moved on.“June 5, 2019
Kinberg obviously knows these characters well, and he's spent more than thirteen years bringing them to life on the screen; so why don't we actively care more about them?”
This is a thing I’ve been so tired of hearing over the last 10 years. Why is that the buzz phrase about Kinberg? “He certainly know these characters inside and out!” “He obviously knows these character better than anyone!” “He knows these characters and this universe better than anyone!”
No. He does not. He never did and he never will.
Yea it's like one person said it and every other blogger repeated the lie.“June 5, 2019

He doesn’t know characters, he knows storylines. Problem is, his understanding of those storylines are disconnected from the prior seemingly unimportant storyline that developed those characters to where they were then.
Unfortunately, that’s the exact way every entry in this franchise plays out, disconnected from each other and missing important pieces in what’s trying to be sold as a larger puzzle.
I can’t do anything but sigh at this point.

Also, Chris Claremont is the answer. Chris Claremont knows these characters better than anyone. Always has and always will be.
I saw part of the red carpet and "Agent M" and Cink had Fassbender on. "M" asks Fassy a question about Genosha (correctly pronouncing it) and Fassbender answers him saying Genosha the same (wrong) way Kinberg has been saying it. The two hosts momentarily look at the camera in contorted facial expressions.
Sigh.

Does he?
That makes me love Fassbender more. You can tell all these actors were fond of these roles. They truly cared. But one by one, it is like this machine sucked the will out of them.Kinberg also once said in an interview that he had no knowledge of Magda and Anya until Fassbender mentioned it to him on a plane and Kinberg decided to add that element into XMA.

Again, does he? Because the profitability of these movies have not been high outside of Deadpool and Logan. Heck DC has been throwing stuff at the wall for years, and have been way more profitable.Correction, *profitable* storylines.
Has the bubble burst? Are we finally out of that weird twilight zone we’ve been in the last 2 years?I'm glad we can ALL just finally sit back and agree that Kinberg is a hack and we don't have to explain ourselves.
Kinberg producing the Twilight Zone revival show, was that Kinberg being meta? In the same way Kinberg set this movie's third act in a train wreck? LOLHas the bubble burst? Are we finally out of that weird twilight zone we’ve been in the last 2 years?
