It also says, X-Men and F4. So that means they won’t recast them?

Reynolds will probably be allowed to continue with his R-rated Deadpool movies under a separate brand, unconnected to the MCU, until either he gets tired of being Deadpool or his movies stop making tons of money.

Then Deadpool will probably be rebooted with a PG-13 movie that is part of the MCU.

Uh, no. Because Iger specifically mentioned continuing DP films as R-Rated in another interview

He also specifically mentioned that they would be under a separate, R-Rated brand. They aren't going to divide the MCU across separate brands. At best, maybe they'll make some R-Rated movies under that brand that "sort kinda loosely" fit into the MCU, like the Netflix shows, but they certainly aren't going to be having Ryan Renolds' version of Deadpool in any of the Avengers movies.

That's not what he said. Here's the quote:

It clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool. As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine.

Two important things here. "Might be" and "Something like" Deadpool. All we can do is make assumptions. They definitely want to make new Deadpool movies and keep them R-rated but we don't know if they even want to keep any other characters or continuity.

Why? Because it got him a position at Marvel in the first place and lead to the creation of the MCU. He owns his enter career to the Foxverse and knows it. That should be obvious.

Everyone starts somewhere, Kevin Feige isn't obligated to produce the final foxverse film. Most especially he's already producing his own Marvel films. What you're saying is wishful thinking, I really doubt Kevin Feige is as invested as you in this franchise to dictate him what to produce.

Laura Shuller Donner's frequently bringing up Feige's humble beginnings as her errand boy is like Billy Batts reminiscing about Tommy's shine box. It could get her whacked.

He seems very passionate about the franchise in interviews.

I noticed that she has started doing that recently :funny:

he isn't gonna badmouth the foxverse films and I don't remember him ever badmouthing inferior Marvel movies. He is just not that kind of person. Don't mistake his kindness as he would suddenly produce a Foxverse film, especially the last one. He isn't gonna get anything from it that he wouldn't get from his MCU films.

Anybody that works in Marvel Studios is not going to publicly slam Fox films. It would start drama and bad PR for MS Of COURSE they're going to compliment their movies. This is how the Industry works. For example, Feige complimented ASM2 even though he already read the script MONTHS ago and did not like it. The idea that Feige is "passionate" about the Fox X-Men films:

And it's very naive to believe things somebody affiliated with a Studio as big as Marvel Studios or 20th Century. Joe and Anthony Russo publicly denied multiple times in January 2015 that Marvel and Sony were having talks and we later find out that they were talking since December of 2014!! Just last year, even after the news had been out for weeks that Disney and Fox were in serious negotiations - Feige still said "There's been no moment on that front so far" these guys ALWAYS give half-truths and vague answers. They're basically trained by Studio Bigwigs to do this.

It's naive at best to think Feige loves Singer-Men because he's being courteous their movies. Especially since we know from Donner he did not like Last Stand and didn't like the direction the franchise took.

I can't see the relation between Feige starting his career in the X-Men movies and continuing a vision that isn't his.

He did like DOFP tho. I dont think he was lieing about that.

The guy straight up brings in elements from the Fox films into the MCU. Namely the whole mixing of classic Marvel with Ultimate elements that X2 started. Hell, he even admitted on taking inspiration from those films. About how they wanted a villian like Magneto in regards to Loki before the Dark World came out. You can see the parallels in that film with X2.

You clearly don’t know Feige as well you think. He has criticized some of the non-MCU films like X3, Spider-Man 3, and Blade Trinity. and apparently F4. So:

Nobody said continue but help produce the final films.

He isn't gonna show up for the last feature film of a dying film franchise, "producing". Especially when he'd be busy with the MCU films which are more successful. The rights going to Marvel is another. Why contribute to the last Foxverse film that he didn't have to do for years when he most likely to going to produce the reboot sooner or later.

Really odd behavior in regards to movie executives here, from deification and sycophantry to malice, the whole unsettling gamut.

Chill out.

It would be a lot less rabid if the people who hate the Foxverse would just ignore the Foxverse now that it's in its final stages. Why not spend that energy speculating about the MCU X-men, or something else you actually enjoy?

Agreed. Not saying that to condemn anyone it just gets hard to post about the film when some people derail the thread to talk about Fox and Disney. Somefeel they are mind readers and know exactly what they are going to do when I truely doubt they know at this stage.

ALL I know is, as immature as it sounds - I'm saving up a bunch of "Told ya so" gifs as soon as the reboot is announced. This thread is pretty much the only place people think a reboot might not not happen. Go look at the poll for my thread

some users on this board have actual sources at Fox, just in case you didnt know.
So there you have one detail to take into account and to understand some opinions on here.

OK cool a reboot is coming, can we now stop talking about it already. I see no point in speculating on it when we have no information on it.

So you're here to talk about a reboot that hasn't happened yet and not more so news or speculation on Dark Phoenix itself. Okay, got it. Seems the Keep Hope Alive thread is what you're looking for, although it already is.

No way Feige allows the current FoX-Men in the MCU unless Dark Phoenix makes a billion and gets a 92% RT score :hehe:

Which is highly unlikely. There is just so much baggage with the current Foxverse films, that I doubt Disney/Marvel would want to touch it and let it be connected to the already massive and way more successful Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Dark Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Rises. Enjoy them while they last.
