You certainly don't follow up Legion and Logan with something as risky as Kinberg directing, that's for sure. Mangold has basically created an all-timer, and Fox has gotta keep it going.

I'm pretty sure New Mutants is out before this, isn't it?

We don't know when Deadpool or New Mutants will come out, but I'm also including them in the group of people who have to keep the upswing that Mangold started going. They're just in a more secure position than a flagship film directed by Kinberg would be.

It isn't the news i wanted to hear at all. Thank god, we still have New Mutants and Josh Boone.
He is a good producer so the movie could still be good but he has to win me over. Good luck Simon.

In fact, X-Men Supernova could be the most faithful, colorul, fun X-Men movies. But, i like Singer, Mangold, Vaughn because they are authors and bring something else to the film. I don't want just a faithful X-Men, i want to see some vision.

Rather have Jane Goldman than Vaughn as much I like/love his other cbm's.

It's not at all about conforming to the OT given those characters got a clean slate, so not sure what inconsistencies could be made at this point.

Who says about the conforming to the OT? Do you want Beast to look like a cat again?

@psylockolussus good morning (from east coast) was waiting for it to get later in the day in your part of the world.

Now what are your thoughts on Director Kinberg? I'm Cautiously Optimistic

Them just jumping straight into DPS doesn't make sense to me.

It makes perfect sense from a studio perspective, its the next big story to follow up DOFP and Apocalypse and its a space related one at that.

It won't make or break the movie if all the pieces ain't set up how they were in the comics, it can still be a good story just done abit differently like all these movies have been so far, yes people would love to put it side by side with the comics but thats not likely to happen just like Logan isn't exactly like Old Man Logan.

Oh dear, Kinberg directing this? It is really gonna be a disaster of supernova proportions! Though if this tank so hardly (quality wise) this would be a quick exit for him as the series' golden boy. I m just happy this isn't happening for an Ot cast film and X-Force.

That was just my first thought. Check the previous pages to read more from Psylockolussus. :ilv:

FF: it wasn't his script and it was the last minute decision from Fox. So unless they hired Cameron or someone similar FF would still tank anyway.

Even if say cameron had came on mid-production to try and fix the movie he probably would have asked fox for more time and abit more budget to work with and if fox said no then he probably would have walked away.

I doubt that film could have been saved.

I have no doubt that Bone and the John Wicked director will deliver!

If only those directors were hired to direct you know the X-Men.... Sometimes I wonder why Fox is so invested to these spin offs when they have yet to give justice to Storm, Rogue, Psylocke and Cyclops.

That's usually what you're referring to when referencing inconsistencies.
Goes back to when I said some don't know the diff b/w "new developments" and "continuity errors".
As long as Vaughn isn't returning, I won't have to see catman.

I have no doubt that Boone and the John Wicked director will deliver!
Mostly because they're untested in delivering ensemble blockbusters.
Boone may do well. The John Wick director is currently attached to another solo project, thus his priority is getting the solo hero(es) right.

He came on to FF about 6 months before shooting began and rewrote the script to cut the budget, he was also onset everyday writing throughout the entire shoot. I certainly wouldn't say that it "wasn't his script".

I bet Marvel is sitting back watching all this news like: "oh we're definitely gonna get the rights back."

Sure, if the likes of Logan, Deadpool, Legion had been poorly received, there'd be room for that argument. But not in the span of one film. Heck, even after Apocalypse's reception the X-Men weren't exactly any closer to a deal with Marvel Studios.

The main X-Men series alone ain't making or breaking this franchise people, not anymore.

The main series is now part of a wider series.

Fox would probably reboot X-Men first similar to Fantastic Four and Sony with Spider-Man.

No.

I am also referring that Vaughn could ignore things from Apocalypse and the other X-Men films, not just X1 to 4.

I wonder what a MCU X-MEN cast would look like? Feige would produce his best film ever now that he wouldn't be overruled by Donner or Singer anymore.

I think we'll see the Fantastic Four rights return to Marvel if anything, and probably only then as some sort of trade that involves getting more X-related rights.

Guys check Kinberg's instagram story. There are new photos of Sophie, James, Hugh, Nicholas and... Katy Perry lol.

I knew Hoult was a lock to come back. TAS was his ringtone during FC he's a true fan

Perry as Dazzler is so cliche but she's insanely popular. And FoX really should release a Dazzler album that could be amazing. I hope she's there for business. Alba too she could be Lilandra but that's just wishful thinking.

Marvel already cut a deal allowing FOX to produce multiple programs involving the X-Men character family to air on 21st Century controlled television networks. What Marvel received as compensation for signing off on the TV arrangement was not disclosed.

It'd great if they left McAvoy in space during X7... Then X8-9 could be all about Cyclops, Storm, & Phoenix
