Oh you can bet that Logan will be recasted.
Using Cable to explain that he prevented all of the events in Logan for this X-Men sequel is actually smart...given the whole time travel past/future aspect of the X-Men franchise given the events of DOFP, Apocalypse and Logan and Cable being in Deadpool 2 it actually makes sense
honestly i am willing to bet no one involved is looking at Logan in that kinda eh oh we need to erase this from the timeline type deal.
t:those that hate all x-men films except deadpool and at times first class will never stop attacking fox with x-men.even though they only had really 2 bad films.
You know what the Fox execs won't do that they absolutely should? Look at he success of Guardians of the Galaxy and say:
"Man, we should do something like that with X-Men, because that's making good cheddar. Is that possible?"
And one of the writers who's read the comics will be like, "Actually yeah, the X-Men go on space adventures all the time."
And the exec would say "Really?! Like what?"
And the writer would be like "Well, there's the Shi'Ar, there's the Starjammers, we got the rights to all those guys."
"Huh, those sound cool," says the exec, "But weren't we gonna do a movie all about that redhead girl with the fire powers for the next one? We're pretty locked into that one."
"You mean Jean and the Phoenix Saga?" says the writer. "Well yeah, but that story was a space adventure too. We were gonna cut out all the planet-hopping stuff like the other movies, but if you wanna put it back in and do the next movie that way, we totally could."
"Oh," says the exec. "Okay. Do it. X-Men in Space."
Pretty sure the movie version (not the comics version) of X-Men going into space all of a sudden would be a jumping the shark moment.
At least build it up first and differentiate from GotG (or Green Lantern) so that if they do it, its not because of a gimmick or that "it worked in the comics".
well kinberg is such a hack i can see him going into outer space and dark phoenix in one film.
I prefer X-men on earth.that is where they are important.but,i can't deny the legacy of x-men includes going into outer space.
phoenix would largly become a sub-plot again. It can be done in one movie, yes it will be an abridged adaptation on the story but then thats what these comic book movies do anyway.
And TBH the idea that kinberg is doing something no one else would do in his position is more or less ignorant.
Honestly if they touch on space in the next movie i don't think it will be full blown guardians of the galaxy, it would probably be very tease to a much bigger universe.
Now if they made a starjammers movie i could see that being more like guardians of the galaxy.
phoenix would largly become a sub-plot again.
