The idea of having Mystique, but also having even ONE member of the X-Men from the last film sit out this film is trash.

Just as ridiculous as Kinberg directing. It's nuts how little effort white males have to put in the get everything they want. Yet someone like Patty Jenkins goes 12 years without a film.

kinberg directing,which hutch parker confirmed even if fox still won't,is ridculas idea.it's clear once singer told them he was taking a break from x-men kinberg was screaming me.me.me to take a shot and fox was stupid enough to say yes.

there is so much warning signs for dark phoenix.having mystique and magneto
both is major problem.to really do dark phoenix justice as kinberg has suggested in past he would like to do you really need 2 films.and it's not about trying to duplice the comic storyline.dofp was true to the spirit of comic story but that was only 2 issues.phoenix/dark phoenix is much larger.
parker strongly hinted they are going into outer space so i don't know how they can do outer space stiff and personal story with jean.way kinberg was talking about first x-men earlier in year not hard to speculate x-men in third act will be trying to bring jean back from edge.there is no telling if all the cast from apocalypse will be back.

and yes kinberg gets dark phoenix easy while patty jenkins has trouble getting film shows a problem.

to really do dark phoenix justice as kinberg has suggested in past he would like to do you really need 2 films.and it's not about trying to duplice the comic storyline.dofp was true to the spirit of comic story but that was only 2 issues.phoenix/dark phoenix is much larger.

Just think the animated series told all of the story in over an hour and under an hour and a half.

with all due respect the animated show did phoenix as 5 part episode and then dark phoenix as 4 part episode.that's equilvent of 2hour and a hal or 2 hours and 40 minutes.

I wonder if they are going to use what Singer intended his story to be. What if at the beginning of the film Jean is presumed dead from a off screen mission, Scott doubts himself as leader this is where Singers story comes in as people are seeing a bright orange light in the sky, wrecked ships and Jean has risen rescuing mutants from slave ships taking the mutant/human conflict into her own hands. Since the events of Apocalypse humans have taken their fear of mutants to the extreme w/the MRA, hate groups; Friends of Humanity. I can see Magneto wanting to use Jean for his own personal agenda not manipulating her but appealing to her feelings how mutants are being treated in society, we have a reason why she agrees to side with him, Jean wants mutant liberation while Eric wants mutant supremacy.

I think you need 2 films if you have already established and developed Jean, wich they haven't. Everything reeks of the usual rush... Didn't the last movie just introduced Jean and already had the firebird, or I'm remembering that wrong? I have no hopes for a careful approach at all.

I actually have a problem with this as well, they have mistreated Jubes so much in this franchise I was hoping with Apocalypse they would give her more and Im still hopeful that Jubilee will be apart of DP as well. She is one of the characters I want to see explored more.

Well just think probably only half of that will make it to screen because that's just how comic book movie adaptations often work.

You don't have to abide to everything that the comics do and as you said about josh Boone he thought outside of the box which is probably what you wil have to do with this movie too.

Don't worry I am sure if snger was onboard he would likely do it all in one movie also if that makes you feel better.

i still wouldn't like doing a film called dark phoenix and going into outer space
and dark phoenix story in one film.but at least i would have faith in him.i have none in kinberg left to his own device.

Kinberg just doesn't get the X-Men. Quicksilver and Mystique are never a big mainstay of the team. Especially compare to the likes of Angel, Psylocke, Jubilee, Bishop, Emma, Banshee, Rogue, Polaris to name a few.

I really hope this is going to crash and burn next year if its the only way to get Kinberg out of the picture and for the X-Men to finally start from scratch.

He's not wrong though. Kinberg is kinda the only guy who can hold on to the "Singerverse" without actually having back Singer (barf).

So if Dark Phoenix doesnt perform we may be getting something totally different next time because bringing back Fassbender & Lawrence ain't it.

Hutch Parker made it sound like not all of the younger cast were returning so its assumed jubilee is one of those.

I'm talking bout tentpole mainline films "X-MEN: Enter Subtitle Here". We wouldn't get for example a Matt Reeves type unless he could reboot it.


If Dark Phoenix bombs changes will be made after two lackluster main films in a row.

Hopefully Kinberg succeeds

Alot of directors want to create their own thing like Mangold did but there are many directors who would be jumping for joy to even get a chance to direct an X-Men movie.

You're right. I'm just trying to figure out how Magneto fits into the story seeing how this is about the X-Men and Jean! I don't want anyone else to take from that!! It's like the Avengers movies constantly being about Tony, Thor and Loki with everyone else in the background. I do not want that for Dark Phoenix. That's why the story didn't work for TLS no one outside of Logan cared about Jeans plight and Dark Phoenix didn't have no character development except for being a CGI character to showcase her power.

Loki's only been in 3 movies as of 2016. This'll be the Magneto characters 7th full appearance. I'd love Loki treatment for Magneto instead.

Thor's Rogue gallery isn't even that well known and Thor isn't a superhero team unlike the X-Men. As of now, Loki has been a Thor series supporting character, just like the likes of Hope in Scott movies, Bucky in Steve movies and Pepper in Tony movies. And that's just fine.

Unlike Magneto showing up in every X-Men: Subtitle movie only ruins the chances of the other X-Men/newer antagonist getting importance/screentime. He either got more screentime than Rogue, Scott, Jean and Ororo or he's sorta responsible for the defeat of the antagonist like Stryker in X2 by the Cerebro attack order, Shaw in 1st Class by the coin attack and Apocalypse in Apocalypse by betraying him.

Anyway unlike those MCU heroes in their solo films, X-Men have a bigger number of characters that they can utilize so there's really no need to feature Magneto and Mystique again and again. And at this point, a 7th movie for Magneto and Mystique is just too much. While the likes of Rogue, Kitty and Bobby are in limbo and Colossus is only appearing in Deadpool films from now on. Then created a new timeline only to waste Jubilee, Angel and Psylocke again? Yikes!

Say what you want about the MCU villains but at least they didn't try to make Loki and Bucky lead characters in more than 1 Avengers movie.
