If Thanos doesn't send his army to earth or give Loki the scepter there's no Avenger's 1.

If he didn't put Ronan in position at first then no Vol. 1.

He doesn't have to be a physical threat to impact the universe. He MAY turn out to be a horrible villain. But we KNOW Apocalypse is a horrible Villain.

What you have given me as examples is a plot device.
Ergo = wallpaper

With ramifications still being felt five years later in Spider-Man Homecoming.

Apocalypse probably will never be mentioned again.

Ergo = Afterthought

If Thanos is wallpaper, Apocalypse is a minor footnote in mutant history :hehe:

so more plot device

If that's what you want to call it. It's still better than X-MEN: Apocalypse regardless. You can respond to this with another way of saying plot device etc etc I'm moving on to another topic.

There's no other way to call it.
We've had villains acting as plot devices before and they've been written by Kinberg no less, so I'd be doubly apprehensive to that Thanos approach.

let me just say even in comics i never cared much for thanos.if i see avengers
infinity war it certinly won't be because i care about thanos.meanwhile with apocalypse as actual x-men fan i was sastifed with apocalypse.apocalypse isn't a deep villain

But this "Dan of Street Fighter" did in one flick than Thanos has done in 3.
When he finally does, he does, but atm, there's not much to him.
Sort of the issue I'm getting across regarding this teaser trailer of a villain.

That's hilarious. Its either you're in denial that Apocalypse was a mishandled villain or you are just making excuses.

You want an example of a wallpaper villain, that's Psylocke and Archangel for you.

Do Avengers movie shill posters think the X-Men are going to go away if they camp in this board?

Thanos is the greatest thing of all time. Apocalypse is the worst thing of all time.

There.

Your life is fulfilled now. Lol

I'm not. Thanos currently means as much to me as those 2, even less because he hasn't done much. His henchmen have.

Use a different example of a villain that's been built up over multiple films that's actually interesting during that buildup.

:lmao:

Post credit scenes and forced cameos for Thanos haven't done anything to convince me that he is more than another generic villain of the week. But let's also not pretend Apocalypse was ever much more than that in any version either.

lol if fox did a thanos approach to apocalypse every one would complain about why apocalypse is still a macguffin in so many movies.

mentioning thanos in all movies is to drive the die hard fans to watch them all. Its all about money, not for the sake of making them 'popular' beyond hardcore fandom.

but casual audience only see him as a one note baddie like in every CBM despite his cameos. which is why thanos is only important in avengers 3 and he might be even less relevant in avengers 4 when Josh Brolin has gone to DP2.

Thanos is already sure fire to be the main villain of two movies, that's already promising than the villain of the week that appeared in that X-Men movie.

If you think we love the Avengers your obviously mistaken. We're probably the biggest X-MEN fans on the board. I'm literally the only person here whose excited that Kinberg is directing Dark Phoenix yet im an Avengers shill? foh

I don't love Avengers because I discussed Thanos > Apocalypse. Apocalypse was a horrible villain whose appearance sunk a important movie before it even released. Should we just be happy about that?

And because that movie was so bad it threw out years of built up good will from 2011 immediately. Now everyone wants X-MEN in the MCU especially after the trades got everyone stirred up with that false rebranding report.

I loved the Avengers, a lot of people did. There's a massive difference between being a "Marvel shill" and recognising when another studio is doing interesting things. The entire internet needs to get over itself.

The X-Men MCU conversation will always be there, whether Fox succeeds or fails. That's fine though. It only stings so much now because Apocalypse was a disappointment.

Say by some miracle we get folks like Lilandra and Gladiator.

Who plays'em?
