So if this film fails to perform a Billion at the Box Office and gets terrible reviews like BvS, will Warner Bros finally have another ammunition to remove Zack from any and all properties concerning the DCEU?

I hope they don't sign him on for another film before seeing how his current film does.

The only reason why Zack was allowed to do this after the mess that was BvS was because they had already invested their time and money in getting JL ready to film after BvS came out.

Zack is doing The Last Photograph after JL. It has been decided. If JL doesnt do well, I dont think he is coming back. I dont want him to either, I want JL to be the last in his trilogy. I want to see other directors come in.

Personally, I think he'll back for JL2 and that will be his 'final' film in the universe, once a series of different directors have their time to shine.

Hmmm. I'm fairly sure there are some who will want Snyder back, even if they don't like JL that much. There's a strain of fanaticism around here about him that often makes it a difficult place to hang out.

Completely agree. I might not think the guy is the best film maker in the world, but he has an obvious visual flair that few other directors can match in modern cinema, and when kept in check by others, he can produce quality. I just wish we could have critical discussions over this stuff without the defensive and insulting BS.

I love Zack's version of the DCEU. Graphic novel visuals look like the pages of comic have truly come to life. Plus the mature and dramatic tone of the movie is so much more interesting to me than those lighter toned movies.

I just hope DC doesn't go the family friendly route. I love the dramatic tension the X-men and DC universe creates, besides the Suicide Squad. Please DC, no more SS type movies.

I loved BvS, feel he deserves his go at JL, but I also don't want him back. If nothing else, it's a waste of this IP synergy to only have a single voice overshadow other creative voices.

Snyder has his trilogy and effectively put his signature stamp on every major DCEU hero. That's a lot more than any other director has ever had in this genre. With as much dissent that's only grown because of his direction, I'm surprised he's lasted this long.

Look nobody saying the guy is flawless. He has his flaws like most directors. Some of us just love his take, and are excited for it.

If JL does well, maybe he stays on. If it doesnt, maybe he leaves. We will cross that bridge when we come to it.

For now, lets just enjoy the JL.

I saw this description yesterday which I liked :

BvS was operatic, tragic darkness.
This is exhilarating darkness.It's metal as **** and awesome. Yeah, it's technically dark, but it's like John Wick. John Wick isn't a happy film by any stretch, in fact it's kind of sad for the most part, but holy **** did you see that. It's balls to the walls relentless action and badassery.
I was worried Snyder was going to tone it down, but nah its still gonna be intense.

Lets see the trailer today. I dont think its gonna disappoint.

I hope Zack knocks this baby out the park. His version of Darkseid and the New Gods is going to be a visual masterpiece. I want his visuals in all the DC movies even when hes not directing.

Great post. If this is to be Snyders last, I hope he gives us a really good movie that people like as much as I did MOS and BvS.
