I am. If you knew Winnipeg, you'd know how badly the city needed something good to happen to them. At least Atlanta still has the Falcons, Hawks and civil war re-enactments.

All three of those things generally turn out poorly for Atlanta....

Pretty good day Sunday for my hometown sports teams. The Buccos defeated the Marlins 7-3 improving their record to 11-4. Tonight they face off against Colorado Rockies who are 9-8.

The Pens kicked ass once again this time defeating Philly 5-1 in game 3 after losing to them in game 2. They are 2-1 in this series moving into game 4 on Wednesday.

Glad the Pens got the win, but I sort of wish the game was closer. Seems like blowing out a team in a series gives them an added incentive to comeback strong the next game. It also gives the other team all the adjustments to put together a better game plan. Fortunately for the Pens, Dave Hakstol isn’t known for making adjustments.

I'd love to know what the odds at the sportsbooks were back in September of them making the second round of the playoffs? It's got to be in the 1000's to 1 range.

I’m glad the Pens won again, but I sort of feel sorry for Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Simmonds, & Gostisbehere. All of them are great players, but they’ve all been neutralized by their ultra conservative coach. Makes no sense to play that style when you have so much talent, especially against a team like the Pens.

BTW, you know things are really bad for the Flyers when even a Pens fan feels bad for them.

2 best goalies in the playoffs so far & both coming off sweeps. Golden Knights are doing it with depth, Sharks are doing it with top end talent. Very interesting series indeed.

Winnipeg Jets are really clicking on all cylinders right now. The Predators on the other hand seem almost content with their regular season accomplishments. Predators better wake up or else their dream season could end up being a playoff nightmare.

The Jets of Winnipeg do look very impressive; all be it, against the Wild of Minnesota, whom I never felt was a threat to up end the Jets. Neitherless, their approach to the series, indeed their killer instincts, and dominance was inspiring. They have been a solid team all year imo & should be taken seriously as a force to be reckoned with. They can get pass the Predators of Nashville...especially with their lack of inspired play against the Avalanche of Colorado...whom themselves are certainly taking advantage of their moment against a Predator team that should have swept them.

I remember this one time when I was in high school, I had to write a summary of an article on weather. It had to be a certain number of words, so just to deliberately be a smartass, I did everything possible to add in extra words to meet the quota. So instead of writing "thunderstorms" I referred to them as "storms of thunder."

I agree, beating the Wild in a playoff series isn’t a big deal, but the way they did it sent a serious message. They just looked like such a complete team, I couldn’t identify any weaknesses on the roster.

Game 1 of the 2nd round matchup between the Sharks of San Jose & the Knights of Vegas begins tomorrow night. Can the Knights remain unbeaten in post-season play? We shall see.

Every game played by the Knights of Vegas, marks another notch in history. Seven different players scored in the Knights unprecedented 7-nil victory over the Sharks of San Jose; including the Knights last goal scored by James Neal, at the 8:09 mark, in the third...for a team in their inaugural season.

A 4 goal 1st sparked the complete manhandling of the Sharks, with 3 goals scored in a span of a minute in a half, by Eakin, Haula, & Marchessault respectively. Tuch scored 4th goal of the period some five & a half minutes later, to cap off the 4 goal 1st. Theodore scored the only goal in the 2nd; and, Miller & Neal scored theirs in the final period.

Fleury was Golden, as he made 33 saves in the Knights 5th straight posr-season win, after such an unusual long playoffs layoff, in between series. Last night win was Fleury's 67th career post-season victory...just one shy of Andy Moog for 10th All-Time. Fleury also pitched his third shutout this post season; 13th of his stellar career...tied for 9th All-Time with Turk Broda. He becomes the 1st in a very long time, to pitch 3 shutouts, in his team's first 5 post-season contest, since 2004, in good company, joining the likes of Nikolai Khabibulin(Lightning of Tampa) & Ed Belfour(Leafs of Toronto).

The Sharks allowed more goals, in their Game 1 lost to the Knights, then the number of goals relinquished in the first 4 games, of their 1st round matchup with the Ducks of Anaheim. Game #2 of the Sharks/Knights is Saturday evening at 5pm PT.
