Well this isnt going how I thought it would.

Life of Pi won virtually all the precursors to that too. No Best Picture nominee as ever lost VFX to a non-Best Picture nominee.

As much as I have complained about the Twilight movies and books for how god awful they are and how they're ruining society, I completely agree with you. Instead of actually giving awards to the worst of the worst, the Razzies have turned into a Twilight/Adam Sandler bashfest.

The only Razzie Breaking Dawn Part II deserved to win was Worst Screen Couple between Taylor Lautner and Mackenzie Foy. But the movie didn't deserve to win the other Razzies. As a matter in fact, Bill Condon actually did a great job working with the awful material that he had to deal with and the movie at least had a very enjoyable fight scene.

Same with Adam Sandler, while That's My Boy was terrible, it was still the best film Sandler has put out in a LOOOOOOOONG time and there were films that were much worse than That's My Boy. It didn't deserve a lot of the nominations it got and Sandler didn't deserve the Worst Actor this time around.

The Razzies have always been like that though; a bunch of obnoxious people thinking they're being cleaver by bashing the most obvious films possible.

I was very surprised that waltz won best sup. actor over jones i thought jones was a lock? I loved django and waltz was great in it but i'd argue that either Jackson or dicaprio could have taken over that nom spot from waltz for the film.

While i thought jones was by far the best sup. actor in lincoln.

I thought the avengers had better effects. Life of pie was clearly the better film with better cinematigraphy but ti me avengers easily had better effects

Life of Pi's tech wins aren't surprising. Most predictions had it winning these two awards.

1) We've been doing CGI animals since 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' these guys didn't invent it.
2) We've been doing storms since as far back.
3) SPIELBERG said the kind of camera move in action that the Avengers had in its finale flying through New York City was something that could not be done in live action thus he did it in Tintin. That tells me the team did invent something for that and it was seamless.

As said, CGI animals don't really impress me anymore since they've been doing that for years. This was just what was recently able to be achieved. Natural evolution of technology.
