Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S2E2 "Heavy Is The Head"

Same old SHIELD...a team member betrays them...shoots them with Icer shots...compromises their mission to the point of failure...and they don't bother even cutting ties with him.

The Fitz story has already lost its luster.

So...to clarify...Absorbing Man turned to stone because of the obelisk...but is still "alive" and could (lets face it...will) someday turn back into human?

Please get Fitz back 2 normal. Or send him off 2 Hydra with Simmons

It was great and Simmons can't wait for next week.

do you just ignore the dialogue? Coulson clearly made the case why he chooses to trust him. But yeah, same old Heretic.

Wonder why Simmons switched sides? Maybe that's what made Fitz snap more

So Fitz realizes that Simmons is gone but he still sees her. Maybe he found out about her ties with HYDRA and went into denial mode. We've seen how he handles denial back with Ward.

Another good episode. Not quite as strong as the premiere, imo, but I mean, compare it to the 2nd episode last year and its like night and day how far this show has come.

A little wary of the Simmons development in the previews, but I'm sure there's a lot more going on there.

I really hope that isn't the end of Absorbing Man.

As Coulson said in the stinger, he's turned to stone but he could always do that so they put him on ice just in case. Ambiguous enough that they can bring him back if they want to.

what happen in this episode just need some major highlights? how did Lance get out of Talbot custody? still fugitive?

Raina helped Coulson track Creel and managed to take the obilisk in the confusion. Lance Hunter was given an offer to sell out Coulson, escaped to think about it, and went on the mission to take down Creel. He then shot everyone else with the Icer but failed at taking out Creel. Creel was taken out by Coulson using a device Fitz invented, but, at the same time, Mack's willingness to speak honestly with Fitz is starting to shatter his world because he keeps pointing out that Simmons isn't there. Coulson apparently has episodes of symbol carving about every 17 days or so. Raina (with the help of probably Skye's dad) managed to touch the obilisk without any harmful effects (instead it started to glow). The explanation was that it let her live.

I think that's it.

Holy crap on the trailer for next week, though.

They should send Fitz downstairs with Ward. Perhaps Ward would scare him back 2 normal

I'm actually enjoying the Fitz angle, why should they keep every character the exact same all yge time? This keeps his character fresh to me, he's not only coping with mental problems of some time, but he's trying to come to grips with Simmons leaving. Give him another episode or two of the uncertainty of himself and he'll come back around. It's clear from tonight that he's showing signs of coming back, with the help of the black guy whos name I can't remember.

Better situation than if we started this season with normal Fitz being bummed and depressed about Simmons leaving imo.

Yes...I heard the dialogue...and it was just to excuse typical behavior on this show.

Remember...Skye and Simmons shot a superior officer while hacking into SHIELDS secret files at the Hub...and SHIELD brushed it off and allowed them to remain a part of the team. And that wasn't even the first time Skye betrayed them.

The problem is not that Coulson forgave him for his betrayal...its that SHIELD always forgives and forgets betrayal. That silliness last season made this scene worse than it would have been otherwise. What...am I just supposed to pretend that didn't happen last season???

the episode 3 mention that Simmon is caught in a crossfire......so this could give us something about her true loyalties

Simmons is definitely a double agent, its so obvious. She would never leave Fitz's side unless Coulson asked her to.

Shot a superior officer who was Hydra, not a big deal now. and even then Coulsons team was already pretty much Shield in name only, they wouldnt have been breaking in for info if it was given. Coulson gives chances to the ones he feels are key assets to his team, theres nothing wrong with that.

This is the same organization that recruited Black Widow, a notorious mercenary/terrorist/murderer that they initially wanted dead. And she worked directly with Nick Fury. It's not that hard to buy that Coulson would cut Hunter some slack. Especially since he has limited manpower/resources (and thus cannot afford to waste either), and Creel's been dealt with so Hunter got his revenge.
