You guys realize its a tie in, as in the events are tied in, which is clearly developing before us. It's not just one episode and it's also not a crossover.

Of course. I think that it's going to end up with
Coulson's team on the run as the only remnants of SHIELD left.

I have no idea where Patton Oswalt's character fits into this though.
Is he good or bad?

You know, I just had an idea...

I won't deny that there have been a few time throughout the duration of the series, where I asked on why SHIELD wouldn't assign Captain America to tackle some of the big missions that we've seen Coulson handle due to the nature/scale of the threat.

I mean regardless of reasons like he was probably on another mission; story wise, I would still wonder on why not just send in one of, if not, best asset to deal with the likes of Deathlok or the Centipede Soldiers.

And then I just realized...since it's not secret now that SHIELD is obviously corrupted from within...

and for those of you that have seen TWS, you'd know that Hydra has pretty much infested the entire organization

What if the reason why Agents like Rogers, Clint, or even Natasha, weren't deployed to these missions was because those in power that were corrupt intentionally made sure that they never got those missions.

I mean if Deathlok and the other organizations are actually tied with the corruption of SHIELD, then it would make sense that those with power and influence would make sure that their best agents would conveniently not be assigned to those missions given their rate and chance for success.

MacNicol is always great isn't he?

I think the Sif episode was so great for me because AoS has the potential to be a really really awesome series of 'one shots' so to speak. Some could be epic, like getting in the middle of a Sif vs Lorelei fight, others could be simple like recovering a Chitauri weapon... or having some nice infighting while getting caught in the middle of a convenience store robbery. There's options, y'know?

I really can't say how much I liked Ward snapping on Nash. They set up the whole 'Clairvoyant can push your buttons' but they did it so smoothly it came off like a planned twist reveal instead of a sort of retconny shove it in type kinda fits storyline. It actually made sense. It really was things that could be done with psyche evals. Awesomeness.

Those thinking May actually betrayed the team are barking up the wrong tree, especially to something like HYDRA that, AFAIK, doesn't even exist in modern times. "Cavalry" has been a bit too good at her job and a bit to deadpanned in the face of death to be all 'Wait let me explain' under physical pressure.

One thing I did think was extra weird was taking all these high level SHIELD guys and having them be solo field agents. They have people for that. That was weird.

That would be interesting and it would make sense.

About May:

She's probably been in contact with either Hill or Fury, which won't happen much longer.

It wasn't weird if someone was trying to kill them all. If the leadership is corrupt and those just beneath them aren't corruptible, send them on a mission to hopefully die so you can be corrupt in peace.

Loved the episode. Damn excited for TWS now and the rest of AOS.

major spoilers for CA:TWS so please don't open this if you haven't seen it yet!

Surely the clairvoyant has to be zola? he's hardwired into the system, he must have seen it all!

I think it has to be, nothing/nobody else makes any real sense. Especially when you factor in the typed text that the clairvoyant's agents have seen on their eye implants.

was this episode supposed to be the Cap-tie in or the next one?

Basically having seen CATWS, all remaining episodes will be tie ins of sort. Events of the film makethat inevitable.

Man what an episode.Department H ! I need to see CA:TWS now!

Simmons remaining in the hub is something to watch over the next couple episodes....i think she will find out who and what Skye and Phil really is.

Fantastic episode. Best one so far, I'm thinking.

My, how far we've come from Fitz/Simmons/Skye putzing around in the van breaking radio silence to ask for a sandwich or something... and all the dumb-Indy play in Peru! That second episode (0-8-4 IIRC) still gives me the chills. The bad chills.

Regarding which episode is a CA:TWS "tie in"... they all are from this point on. I mean, the monumental events of CA:TWS basically means there's no way for these last episodes to not tie in. And that's a good thing.

Really liked Deathlok, but I thought he could've been a little more dynamic in his movements. He just seemed a little lumbering. Maybe they wanted to evoke a Terminator-like threat that just comes at you relentlessly... but I think a quicker more dynamic Deathlok would've been a little better.

The one thing that didn't make sense was Ward straight-up murdering the wheelchair bound fake-Clairvoyant. I know, they wanted to make it seem like Ward completely lost it and wanted revenge for Skye, but it made too little sense for an amazingly well trained operative to go off the rails like that.

Laser Tag Deathlok aside, great episode.

For those who have watched Winter Solder

Is Jemma Simmons on that ship as Batroc's hostage?

Answer:
No thats Sitwell
Question:
What did you think about Fury organising that hijack in the first place so he could send the Widow in to hack their database?

She did say later there was something preventing anyone accessing it including Fury claiming to be him when he tried to find out who was blocking him!

Such a great episode, having seen TWS I can say that this "end of the beginning" does a fantastic job of setting up that film. The identity of the Clairvoyant is revealed in that movie and I think everyone will be satisfied. Can't wait to see more Deathlok and what happens afterward!

[blackout]Alexander Pierce[/blackout] is the Clarvoyant.

I don't buy any of the above. It would be poor planning on the show's part to allow the "BIG BAD" to be on the movies. It doesn't allow the show to stand on it's own, with it's own bad guy/arc/story.

There has to be tie ins to the overall MCU, but if you kill [BLACKOUT]Pierce, Zola, whoever[/BLACKOUT] on [BLACKOUT]The Winter Soldier[/BLACKOUT], then what the heck is the point of the show?

"Ok guys, time to go home. So-and-so already got the Clairvoyant." - Coulson

Makes no sense, and would cement this show as awful. And I love the show and want to see it get renewed for next year.

Well, I hated May from the beginning, thought she was the worst character on the show. Now, this espisode intensified my hatred

She's my favorite, lol.

They do.

Fantastic episode last night. Deathlok was awesome. The twist at the end made sense considering the events of Winter Soldier.

Cannot wait to see where the rest of this season goes.

I cant believe no has even mentioned anything about Hand turning the Bus around and ordering everyone on it to be killed. She wants Coulson for herself.

Im pretty sure she is the Clairvoyant. Clairvoyant was not a really psychic just a decoy created by Hand. May was reporting to her not knowing that she is the one.

The motivations don't match up for me, if it's Hand.

The Clairvoyant showed zero regard for Coulson until Raina saw him. But Hand knew about Coulson before that.

Question, has anyone found a video online of their CA:TWS sneak peek that's the scene of [blackout]Fury in his SUV trying to 'get off the grid' - WS takes his car out, it ends as WS is walking towards the car and then goes into a trailer/tv spot[/blackout] that happened right before the closing credits/ep17 promo? Fandango has released a truncated version of that clip (and without the tv spot at the end), I'm looking for the entire thing that showed at the end of AoS

You can find the entire scene in a theater near you in a movie called Captain America: The Winter Soldier. :oldrazz:

Now that Ward took out the decoy and Coulson knows its someone in SHIELD has to take them all out before they blow her cover.
