Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E11 - "Aftershocks"

Nevermind...Hunter's ploy was that he was hired to kill Bakshi by the other members of the Hydra council. It's clear...I'm just stupid.

And for old time TV fans...

Hunter killed Hunter!!!!!!!

Well we haven't seen Trip's father, so his father could be Blasian (Black and Asian) and his mother being full Black, which could make him 1/4th Asian. That seems a bit of a reach as is Trip being a quarter British or a Quarter French.

It has to be Gabe Jones though as I would think that during the time period of before it became common, Interracial dating/marriage was taboo, especially in the two decades following World War II, around the time that both of Gabe's parents were born.

It might be that Dugan had a fling with a black woman who in turn grew up to marry a black person, who gave birth to Trip, making him 1/4th White. But Dugan may have spent decades trying to hide that fact and it doesn't make sense based on what Simmons said about Trip and his grand-father if that was the case.
interracial marriage/dating might have been a taboo in the US (and probably not in all parts of it), but it certainly was less a taboo in Europe where black GIs fathered many children with white women or other parts of the world like the caribbean where what you call Blasian was a common sight in the 1960ies. And even if it was a taboo, that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. In fact it happend more often than one thinks

The west coast homies getting in on the awesomeness. Some of the cast like Chloe and Brett are live tweeting it

Raina's definitely a version of the comic character. Her face spines are in the pattern of comic Raina's mask, her spine "hair" vaguely resembles the fin, the claws are similar, and comic Raina's green outfit is repped by Raina's skin, which definitely had a greenish tint below the neck.

Marvel just got away with putting an X-Men character on television. Interesting...

Mannnnnnnnnn! i am still bummed about Tripp's death that scene with Coulson visiting his mom was Sad! dug Coulson is like some body's going to pay for that &*^!
but i dug Rayna got what she deserved and cant handle it. Her ass should have got tuned into LOCKJAW! hahaha
Good episode just wish tripp hadnt gone out but i like Fitz is keeping Skye's inhumanity from the team cause Simmons has gone bat ^&* crazy!

This show has gotten excellent. Love what they are doing here with the characters and the introduction of Inhumans.

Great ep

Wow. Just wow.

Having been whining about the shambles that is Arrow over on that forum, it's great to be reminded what amazing TV looks like.

I can't even properly think through what the best bits were because it was pretty much all best bits, though I loved all the Skye stuff because powers make me happy; the teleporter looked awesome, too; Fitz and Skye were adorable and the whole team do the whole bickering thing perfectly without it harming their capacity to do their jobs (a pet peeve of mine).

Basically I'm just massively jazzed to see more. Agent Carter was an amazing replacement, making me mostly forget how much I missed SHIELD, and it seems that SHIELD will help me forget how much I miss Agent Carter. Marvel's killing it.

This show is really solid now and this week was no exception. I still am not feeling the spark other shows on have but it's very solid.

A stellar standout episode and a great return. Definitely am looking forward to Sky's dad getting that group together and seeing what comes of it.

9/10

the Teleporter was such interesting! the CGI is pretty awesome, never seen something like that on TV, they worked on the episodes for all the Christmas holidays and you can see that. The team is a well oiled gear, the subplot of Mack and Bobbi is interesting and will lead to very interesting scenarios, the quality of the plot make you forget the "tv show quality" form. DAMN I'M SO HYPED RIGHT NOW

Is it just me, or did SHIELD cover the spectrum of emotions when suddenly confronted with new powers/being different better in two conversations between Raina/Calvin and Skye/Fitz than it was ever done in any X-Men movie?

"You're just...different now. That's okay."

Yes this episode felt like what Marvel would do if they ever got back the rights to X-Men

I'm assuming Mockingbird and Mac are working for Talbot and/or the Federal gubmint.

Civil War.

Are people actually debating over whether Gabe Jones was Tripp's Granpappy?

The picture on the wall confirmed Gabe Jones.

The picture shows all of the Commandos, not just Jones.

Well, they're after the cube that Fury gave Coulson.

The questions remaining are who are they working for, and why do they want the cube.

Maybe Leviathan.

BTW, it's good to know that Doctor List is not just a scientist but also Baron von Strucker's right-hand man.

If Stark kept his head out of the bottle more often, Fury might have shared some of them with him.

No, he wouldn't have. To quote Stark himself: "He's a spy. Captain, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets."

Awesome episode, probably one of my favorites.

Simmons becoming MCU Trask though, damn saying it's a plague and should be eradicated. People saying she'd side with Stark seems like she'd beyond Stark on her own side of 'kill the people with powers.'

Long time lurker saying hello :D

Is she really against all people with powers? To me it felt more like she is against alien stuff.

Also, it didn't make much sense that Mr Hyde mentioned putting a team together, and then immediately abandoned Raina...but again...I guess they wanted to get her with the Inhumans.

I think it was to increase the isolation Raina is feeling. She has nowhere to turn to, so the Inhumans are there to lead her.

It could be that they want to back off from Hydra since that plays an important role in the movies, and will replace them with Leviathan. That would connect AoS and Agent Carter more tightly.

I doubt they'll go with Leviathan. Leviathan makes a lot of sense in a period piece set in the Cold War (where the Soviets would naturally make sense as the rivals). It makes less sense in the modern world, where making Russia the enemy seems a bit problematic.

America and Russia are both throwing tantrums over ukraine at the moment, NATO moving closer to the caspian sea where russia gets a lot of its oil and gas. Terrible situation for the Ukrainians but one positive is american media could be making good Russian villains again.

who ever mac an bobbi are working for they are still touts, it shouldn't end well for them.

good episode over all, bit of a body count, tone has changed. Civil war starts here i think.

About Gordon:
I read that about Reader "He has an escape ability that lets him teleport out of danger" http://comicbook.com/2015/03/03/5-inhumans-wed-like-to-see-on-marvels-agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-/
So if Reader can teleport does it confirm that Gordon = Reader? Somebody read te new comics about Reader ?

He can indeed teleport, but only if he reads it. He can also do some other things, like going back in time a few minutes and seeing through the eyes of his dog. Since he's blind he always has a tablet for every one of his skills with braille on it to read, of which he has the location memorized. He can only use a few readings every day though, and they become weaker everytime. They only become more powerful again after he has slept.

What an episode! Now that's how it's done!

I can't even believe how self-assured this show has gotten. I remember the early season 1 "freak of the week" stuff that we got and thank the heavens that they were able to reinvent the show, taking the early (warranted, for the most part) criticism in a constructive manner.

I thought Agent Carter's penultimate episode was excellent, but this one might've been the single best episode of superhero television I've ever seen... and I think I've seen 'em all. There's no two ways about it... Agents Of SHIELD is straight-up one of the best shows on TV right now.

Ok thanks, I think we need to wait more to see if he is him or not. :yay:
Gordon was badass, he can do teleportation and force field generation for now, I hope to see him soon.

Awesome episode. Felt like X-Men in Marvel's hands. Also am I the only one thinking Skye and Fitz might get together?

There were rumblings over the internet and via random fanfictions but it's apparently Simmons had kind of a little thing for Tripp. They never flat out said it but you could kind of catch it.
