Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E11 - "Aftershocks"

Wow, what a great way to start off the second half of the season! The little scripted Coulson/May death scene was pretty funny.

Woah. Agent Carter might've been good, but this was just amazing. I didn't realize how much I missed this show.

I'm glad Tripp's loss was felt throughout the entire episode. I figured it'd just be a token scene at the beginning. But they really did him justice. "There will be a lot less laughs, that's for sure." Yeah,Skye. That's what I'm afraid of.:csad:

Since the show is bound to take a very Skye-centric turn from here on,I wonder if we'll get a return of the Skye haters who couldn't help criticizing her for taking a breath of oxygen?:whatever: I'm guessing so. Chloe was terrific BTW. Fitz fudging the test results for her was great. Fitz always had a bit of a thing for her.

Couple blasts from the pasts tonight. The guy that played Hunter (who gets killed by Hunter. How's that for irony?:sly:) And "the Baroness" played by the actress who played Maggie Evans in the original 60's Dark Shadows. Pity they got killed so early. Have to admire the Godfather style set up.

So Simmons is going all "mutie hater" on us now? Wonder how she's gonna take Skye's condition when she finds out?

The Nightcrawler Guy looks cool. Skye's mom helping out was an unexpected surprise.

Skye's dad is always a treat. His little dance of joy was funny.:woot: Raina looks awesome. She's gone from a Flower to a Thorn. I really hope we get to see more from her. Ruth was excellent.

Mack getting ready to Hulk out for a minute there leads me to believe there is something more in the works for his character.

The Lance/Bobbie stuff was alright.Less is more with them.

Coulson : They'll never take us alive!!! :lmao:

Next week can't come soon enough.:woot:

Well, they're after the cube that Fury gave Coulson.

The questions remaining are who are they working for, and why do they want the cube.

Stark would be interested in Fury's secrets.

I was wondering the same. I wonder if they work for Gen.Talbot.

You could be on to something.

It's a Civil War setup. Simmons will side with Stark. Colson will side with Rogers. I'm not sure where the rest of the team will land. I think Mack and Bobbi will be on different sides before it's over.

Oh, and Fitz has already picked a side. He'll be opposite of Simmons.

Stark did, after all, hack into SHIELD secrets to expose Phase Two weaponry in The Avengers, so him having eyes in SHIELD 2.0 isn't unfounded.

It's all gonna come to a head in May.

Hot damn what an episode! So many great things. I'm so glad this show is back on. Coulson screaming They'll never take me alive! Was freaking hilarious haha. Super solid turn out for the 2nd half of the season. I truly feel sorry for anyone that gave up on this show, truly. Hopefully anyone on the fence is reading these types of forums to know they def have to get caught back up. I do kind of wish we got a llittle taste of what Ward was up to but there is plenty of time for him later

This really is an awesome show. I can't believe that so many Marvel movie fans don't watch it. It's BETTER than the vast majority of the movies, and is setting up films that people will line up to see on opening night!

My head is still swimming. All the feels, as the kids say.

Most of the ones I know stopped watching before Winter soldier was out and Hydra was exposed. I told them it's MUCH better and people who left love the show now.

I hope we get one of the Avengers big dogs some day.

I found the line in that final scene in the lounge to speak quite well for the series as a whole. "Yeah, there's gonna be a lot less laughs in here, that's for sure."

In series with icers, inflatable rafts filling holes in moving jets, and Laser Tag Deathlok, this episode shows just how much this show has grown up. Raina tearing out throats, the wholesale slaughter of Hydra heads, and just how much more serious the tone is overall. There certainly are a lot less laughs, in a very good way.

By the way, I'm starting to wonder if that whole theory regarding Simmons working for a third party takes on more credibility. Her zeal to eliminate superpowered individuals was quite abrupt. And while yes, it could have just been the writers perhaps somewhat clumsily positioning a member of the team to represent that hate and fear of "others," Simmons' turn in particular came off more like a play than anything. I still believe there's a slow burn there, even if it seems somewhat unlikely at this point.

If we were still having polls, this episode was certainly a 10 (hint hint :woot:)

Damn 120 people in this here thread. I'm hoping the ratings match it as well when they drop

Well that seems right.

I only want a guest appearance if it makes sense. My least favorite episode of the show was the one that they forced in because Thor came out and they had to track down some Asgardian weapon (not that Thor appeared, but still).

Personally though, I will always kind of wish that Tripp had never existed...and instead Hawkeye had been with Garrett (maybe suspecting that Coulson was the Clairvoyant without knowing it)...and that would explain where he was during The Winter Soldier...and then you wouldn't need Lance Hunter either because Hawkeye would have that role...and you could use him and Bobbi to set up Civil War on tv. But, what we have is very cool as well...I'm just a Hawkeye fan and wish he was a bigger player in the overall story.

Her zeal to eliminate super powered people came almost immediately after the guy she had the hots for was killed by the process, and even sooner after some of her co-workers had their throats ripped out by a superpowered person. I wouldn't call it clumsy.

Simmons, agent of SWORD?
