I got the impression Lex Sr. is dead though.

I didn't see no body. :hehe:

My guess is that you are not gonna like the Extended cut. What could possibly be there in an extra half an hour that will make you like the movie that 2.5 hours didn't? lol

Maybe a few little things might get expanded upon.
-We say in the communion scene that Lex learned about the Darkseid and that was who the ding ding ding was referring to
-Also set photos showed a scene of Clark Kent visiting the GCPD. This could better explain how He thought Batman was a 'one man reign of terror vigilante' that needed to be stopped. That was never explained to well in the movie

Also the mystery of Dan Amboyer (master troll) could possibly be revealed

Honestly I did play out a similar scenario in my head a couple of times. :hehe:

Frankly I don't care about Lex Luthor, never did. But my brother didn't like this one.

I was a little confused because I thought it had something to do with Jokes, specifically.
I'm not the biggest SV fan ever, but easily would take Rosenbaum over EisenBOMB...if they are keeping Jesse acting the same as he did as Lex in BvS.

Yeah, but I mean this extended cut is probably better for people who actually thought the movie was okay to great. I don't think it will convince the others.

I am certainly looking forward to it. More explanations and world building? Bring it on.

The art of the film book shows what seems to be Lois investigating Wally...so I suspect the Africa/senate bombing investigations will be expanded.

Thinking about it. Who knows with Cranston though. They managed to make Spacey kind of campy, and Jesse? We saw what happened there  Either they see many people disliking this version of Lex and let him turn more serious, or screw it just kill him off by Darkseid or something. ha. Let him die as Lex Luthor and have his father come back even, I don't care. Whatever solution I don't want to see that Lex come back like he was in BvS either.

BvS Lex came off more psychotic than campy to me.

30 minutes of footage for a film that doesn't currently strike me as great, but it's Batman and Superman. I will be buying it on day 1 of release still!:tm$

Still holding out hope that maybe it can be better somehow. Won't solve this Lex problem though that seems to be an issue with some fans

Cranston disappears into his roles. He was great in Breaking Bad, but he was pretty forgettable in Heroes. I couldn't even tell they were the same person for a while. If Cranston had gotten the same directions Jesse got, he would've been as annoying to whoever who didn't like Lex in BvS. What we need is a director's vision for the character to align with the newer, more familiar versions of Lex (I thought that Jesse's resembled the earlier incarnations actually, so we can't really say he was way off).

Even though I find it great, I do have a few problems with it. I hope the extended cut fixes some of them.
There's definitely a love or hate thing going on with this Lex, I personally really liked Eisenberg's Lex.
Same here. I kinda liked him the first time I watched it, then I think about what we could've gotten with Cranston or someone. I keep changing my mind about him. A part of me thinks he is annoying, another part doesn't. I am conflicted on this one.

Yeah it's a matter of the direction and understanding of how to pull off Lex in a more serious business way that fans have grown up with in this day and age.

I wonder if prision will change Lex...and maybe if DS was using him for something, he'll have a different personality if/when that stops?

I hope for a quieter Lex.

I liked him too and it's surprising considering I disliked Hackman's Lex because I did find him too much of a cartoony mustache-twirler. Jesse's Lex came across more like a deeply scarred individual that used his intelligence to manipulate people into doing exactly what he wants. He stays at the top by stepping on others, so to speak. He was certainly over-the-top at times, but I found it to be a sickly amusing side-effect of his previously latent psychosis.

I rather have Arnold come back as Mr Freeze then Eisenberg come back as Lex.

It was definitely an over the top attempt to try and prove he is psychotic and give him ticks. I got it, it just didn't work for me. I like our Lex being someone of some serious level as one pointed out before can command the room. A presence of leadership. I get they wanted a bit of that Ledger Joker edge, and it just failed for me. Psychotic mmmm yes MMMMM superman. No thanks, I'll go back to corporate Lex in a second. I think Jesse could have played him well which is the worst thing about it. Either lead in a direction or had too much freedom to play this up.
