Your explanation doesn't hold up which just highlights what a poor plot point it is. You know a movie is bad when the supporters of it are constantly coming up with speculation and assumptions to fill in bits of the plot and patch up blatant errors in the story.

Sounds like you enjoy shallow movies if you want to have a film hold your hand the entire plot.

I want a film to hold my hand because I want the plot to a movie I am watching to make sense to a degree.

Hmmm is it not addressed in Man of Steel when he tells Zod he has to focus so that his powers don't overwhelm him

But can you blame them?

The first DC shared universe film, doesn't even have a 30 on Rottentomatoes, isn't a hit worldwide, and makes changes to the classic characters (mainly Batman)

WB can do better and have (The Harry Potter series)

Heck, Snyder's done better (Watchmen, 300, and his Owl movie are all more consistently well narrated than BvS).

The RT score is BS. Nobody can convince me other wise that CATWOMAN, DAREDEVIL, SPIDER-MAN 3, ANT-MAN, IRON MAN 3, and a whole host of other films in this genre (based on RT scores) are better than this thing.

You guys act as if WB didn't want to knock this ****er out of the park. You guys think Snyder didn't want to be loved and adored by all DC fans? He grinds away for 3 years on this thing like any filmmaker does on a big ass film and he put his best foot forward and it is what it is. Again, there's no exact science to this thing that we call cinema. I don't care if anyone thinks so.

This is never addressed in the MCU either tho, literally all the heroes are in NY but none of them intervene in each others conflicts.

Its not addressed in the MCU

WHOA there killer. Yes it is. A lot actually. Movies, TV shows and Netflix.

I would LOVE to see you or anyone else have a "flawless" script that can get around ALL of Superman's powers without making the most absurd sounding script in the world. You'd be packing every script with nothing but ridiculous explanations for why Superman couldn't help every single cry for help.

Weakest argument around but it could be done.

Yeah in this case I think that this is again part of Snyder being bad at communicating. The simple fact is that Superman can't save everyone, its impossible, and it would drive him mad if he ever tried to do it.

Its why I've always liked the Donner version of the death of Jonathan Kent, it served to show that lesson. There are some things he just can't stop.

I am thinking of my own Superman origin and thought what if Jonathan Kent died of cancer.

Modern, relatable, teaches Clark he can't save everyone.

That's how Pa Kent should have died in MOS.

Why was Hawkeye not in WINTER SOLDIER if SHIELD is being destroyed? Where's Tony Stark in WINTER SOLDIER considering the climax of the picture? Where as Cap in IRON MAN 3, considering the attack on the US government which included the president?

We could, in theory, do this all day.

That is just the cover of the graphic novel...

Look, I get where you're coming from. I don't necessarily think we're on different pages when it comes to who Superman is, we just disagree on whether Zack Snyder knows who he is. You're willing to go with Snyder's darker, colder interpretation whereas I have a huge problem with it. I doubt we'll be able to reach a consensus.

It's the same as with the Batman no-kill issue. You are either willing to accept the broad changes Snyder makes or you're not.

Neither position is wrong.

...Snyder is though :oldrazz:

I do agree with that, and I get where you are coming from.

My suggestion would be to look at it from an Elseworlds point of view, you will be able to enjoy it more :)

It certainly has helped me a lot of times (especially when it comes to DC's TV shows).

Although I don't agree Superman is colder here. He's just not mature and unwise.

Trust me I feel bad for Snyder I really do, I have never wished bad on him and never will but he is clearly way over his head with this whole thing.

I'm gonna guess you... didn't watch those movies. Because two out of those three things are explained. So, yep

None of the characters in the MCU are Superman, look at Supermans abilities and capabilities. Trust me this is going to be an issue unless it's addressed in some manner.

Its not an issue.

And no character being on superman level does not eliminate the plothole that Shield or the other heroes dont assist the others in their own movies. Hell, Thor has the ability to teleport wherever he wants from Asgard but doesnt bother. If its not an issue there, its not one here. Assume they are fighting some other villain at the time.

Comics existed in the same universe and no one questioned it, why should we question it in the movie universe.

According to some people here, yes. You're not paying for coherency you're paying for visuals. Fill in the gaps yourself.

You wouldn't need to explain every little thing, just glaring plot holes that effect the plot in a big way like the Martha kidnapping did.

I'll admit its not perfect, but she was kidnapped in Smallville and brought to Gotham, that gives quite a large range of places for Superman to look for her.

Again just want to point out none of these people possess the capability and abilities of Superman.

In this case, goddamn right. If this film was at 50%, I'd disagree but I could've understood it. 29%?! Take that somewhere else. Ridiculous.

It means 29 out of every 100 critics liked the movie. That sounds about right. And on par with audience reception too. Just look at the box office drops and B Cinemascore. It's not, not a well received movie.

Yeah. I get that. I don't really agree. But, moving on...
