beloved by half the people that belove BvS according to ticket sales...

An r-rated movie based on a long-dead property vs a movie featuring batman and superman.. is it really that difficult to see why there's a gap in ticket sales?

Critics are seeing Civil War soon.

Prepare to hear how superior it is to BvS the next few days.

eh

Not only that you are going to have people compare the heroes especially Cap to Supes and how Superior Cap is as a hero to him but morally and in his actions.

Also the logos been present was a huge face palm, how about subtly Snyder ever heard of it.

Well it WAS Lex's hard drive. He is SOO anal that he needed to have these icons as well as the nice graphics.

Would be more forgivable if done better. Not a deal breaker for me.

The difference between FR and BVS is that despite the absurd amount of money WB spent on the former the expectations for it at the box office were universally low with some predicting it would bomb completely.

The expectations for BVS were completely opposite so however irritating that may be to fans of it the perception of it as a dissapointment WILL last for a long, long time.

Does anyone know where the poster Iseespidey is? As a lurker I used to enjoy reading her opinions because she was very opinionated but since I have joined I haven't caught a whiff of her.

wait, what now?

Long Dead? MadMax was...no IS a landmark in film history. It was a phenom.

If anything, FR should have benefited from the Rebirth of the MadMax reboot, bringing back Miller and all...

Did TFA suffer from the long dead SW !

You are using some double standards there my friend.

Do you hear that sound slowly getting louder outside your window....it reminds you of thunder far off in the distance....but the storm is getting closer....so the sound of thunder is getting louder.....louder....and then you realize...it isn't thunder....it is the sound of people face palming themselves as they read this thread.....

:hehe:

As I was reading this thread, I asked myself what the hell is going on. Yesterday, it was quiet and I thought the storm passed and today is back to madness.

Seen her in the Justice League section.

Did you just compare Star Wars to Mad Max? Lol

1. Mad Max and Star Wars aren't on the same level at all.
2. Star Wars hasn't been dead since 1977.

To the industry maybe, but the GA could care less. Fans I guess will be disappointed that it didn't do better or even was better, but they will still be fans.

I'm not saying that BvS shouldn't have been made so it could make 2 billion. I'd love that too. It's just the hypocrisy of comparisons.

Hoping and expecting to make money is very different than earning it. That's why you don't count your chickens...

WB apparently believed/believes in this plan. They approved it and dumped the money in. They could have made changes but didn't.

The BO is far from terrible. Just not what was expected.

There seems to be a resurgence in marketing on TV. May be making another push to get the billion.

Truth be told, I know folks aren't going to be happy when Civil War is compared to BvS, but they shouldn't be surprised.

Both movies feature heroes fighting each other due to philosophical difference.

Both movies do quite a bit of world-building.

Both movies feature 1 heroes of a higher moral ground vs. another hero of a more murkier moral background.

The details are different but the foundations are damn near identical.

yep, like it or not the comparison is inevitable.

not according to ticket sales of the prequels.

Someone's really arguing the popularity, iconography and profitability of Mad Max to... Star Wars. Really? Really now? Mad Max is more akin to Predator. And barely that.
