Superman attempted thrice to talk to Batman, but it's clear from Batman's expression that he had no interest to negotiate. Batman's of a one track mind - it wasn't easy to convince himself to finally go commit "the act" (he had to keep dehumanizing Superman in order to see him as less than a person), and he didn't want to be dissuaded from it, believing he was doing it for the greater good

See this is one of my issues with the film.

The execution of some key moments in the fight, and the film in general are just botched. For example you are completely right, he does try to stop him through speaking, Batman wants none of it. But it's done so poorly IMO. Superman is just saying the most vague terms. We all know he should easily have just hovered and said "Lex is playing you, save mom with me?". So give a good reason as to why that doesn't happen. Have Batman just not let Superman get a word in. Have him attack from the shadows, then the fight, give no chance for Superman to breath then have his last gasp be "please save Martha".

Same with the opening scene. I understand that Snyder is trying to make us feel said about Bruce's colleague dying but all I can think about is how much of a ****ing moron the guy is! The phone call is literally the first time this Jack seems to make a move on getting people out. If they changed that just so simply as to having Jack already evacuating people and Bruce saying "have you begun getting people out?" then it would have flowed so much better IMO.

This film is just a huge victim of pure editing and execution. It makes it 10000x more annoying to learn this film has be completely finished since 2015!

Watching BVS for fourth time. Unfortunately I'm the only one here. Has its benefits though.

So that's how the BO earnings drop.
No noise surrounding you is a good thing at least.

There's so many TV or film personalities where this would fit but for some reason this doesn't sound like Cavill. If so he hides it extremely well.

True, but that's what Hollywood people tend to do. If they have some issue that can affect their work and they're really needed, they try to find a way to make it work. Take Affleck for example. Supposedly alcohol, gambling, and women are things he deals with.

Actually I can believe that more easily than that of Cavill, merely by watching them both in interviews. Affleck is naturally depressed, and people poke all kinds of fun at the "sad Affleck" clip, but if you go back to watch his interviews from before (especially those when he's with other people so the contrast is greater), you'll see that has become like his permanent and 'normal' look. So I can only assume he spends a lot of time depressed, maybe since Garner left him.

Definitely could've been better executed to help the audience get a better understanding of what's going on. Unfortunately I find that BvS suffers not from a bad concept/story, but that the writer's concepts weren't put across clearly enough. Zack Snyder will have to take blame for some of this - but I'm sure he was also responsible for a lot of the concepts in the film that did work.

Yep. Superman realised Batman wasn't there to listen or talk. Supes said to Lois he'd kill Batman if required, because "no one stays good in this world."
Yep, Superman said he was going to kill Batman. Batman is a human being. He's no threat to Superman as far as he knows. The fact that Superman accepts that killing him is something to do is an example of everything wrong with this movie. It shouldn't matter if Batman isn't willing to listen. He's a human, who Superman knows is someone who stops criminals. He can hold him down and make him listen. How did Superman think Batman could help him in any way that he couldn't already help himself? Going to Batman in the first place was completely pointless. Have a very great day!

God bless you! God bless everyone!

Superman is also not in a space where he is able to reason properly given his mother's predicament, he thinks given his superior might he can just disarm Batman and then reason with him.
Batman also forces the issue by assaulting him with the sound and guns because he doesn't want to talk. Batman essentially starts the fight while Superman tries to subdue him by pushing him through a building, and throwing him into the bat signal, and then kryptonite comes in and off they go.

So when Snyder posts a pic of himself on the set of JL on April 11th, is this place going to insane with people yelling at WB for not firing Snyder and being a flop company? #HonestQuestions
In all honesty, it won't matter for a lot of people if the set pics, trailers or any other promotional is good. We had that for BvS and it didn't deliver. I expect people to remain skeptical right up until the release for JL; good trailers won't fool me anymore.

We also had that for MoS.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, and I won't get excited about a Zack Snyder DC film ever again.

Right?
I mean, it's amazing that people who deeply dislike 'BvS' are called 'haters'. We're obviously fans of the characters. We watched MoS. I certainly didn't care for a lot of the characterizations in 'MoS', but thought.. hey, it's an origin story, they can turn this around. And then I watched 'B v S' and I got my answer.

We know what Zack Snyder is, we know what aspects of power he's most interested in portraying, we know what kind of storyteller he is. And we're saying 'thanks, but no thanks.'

I'm sitting out any more projects that involve Zack Snyder. It's not like he's going to improve. He's made eight movies already, and the only one that I liked was his first. And that was mostly due to James Gunn's script.

And that movie delivered. :o

Well, it sounds like Garner left him due to those issues.

I'll say this, MoS is significantly better than BvS and I'm genuinely looking forward to watching and reassessing it again sometime soon. I probably won't come out a fan but I might be able to appreciate it more.

Question, concerning JL:
What-if Darkseid brings back Superman, and its Batman, Diana, Flash, and Aquaman fighting Superman (and Darkseid)?

P.S. Brought up as a what if idea from Collider Heroes.

After next year, we won't have to endure it any longer. I'm pretty sure he's off as director once JL 1 is wrapped up.

Yeah! Superman, the man who fundamentally believes every human being has the capacity for good and is so benevolent towards mankind says that. Very hopeful. Thanks Zack :)

That line made me tear up. Perfectly delivered by Cavill.

That whole plotline doesn't really make sense now that I think about it.. like how was batman gonna help him exactly? His logic is basically "help me save my mom or I'll give into Lex's plan and kill you"

It's not like Lex was even watching Superman. Otherwise he would've ordered Martha dead once he saw Batman and Superman part ways.

I took my 8-yr-old son for the second time (the first time he sat next to his grandpa - and the grandpa fell asleep, so he had no one to direct his questions to). It was his idea to do this the second time, I think he wanted my commentary on it. Unlike your mom and aunt, he saw MoS about three times and loved it (begged his grandma to buy the shirt). These were his comments about BvS:

(On the world engine)
"Oh look! Wow, this movie really makes it look like it's continued from Man of Steel."

(On Batman's branding a man)
"He also has a Superman logo on his Batarang"

(On the bathroom scene)

"Why is Lois naked in the tub?"
"Eee! Why is Superman jumping into the water with his shoes on?"

(On the crypt scene)
"This is the scary scene right? It's so loud."
(And when Bruce wakes up)
"Who's sleeping in his bed? Is it Alfred?

(On Lex taking his first walk towards Zod's ship)

"I don't like this music"

(On the congress scene)
"What is Granny's Peach Tea?"

(On the Knightmare scene)
"What are those flying things?"
"Why can't Flash come out of the time warp?" (he'd been watching the Flash series with Grant Gustin, and that version of Flash has been walking in and out of time warps like nobody's business)

(On the Batmobile chase scene)

"Why is Batman killing people?"

(On the WW photo)
"Wow Wonder Woman also has her own song?"

(On the final scene with Lex)

"Why is he saying 'ding ding ding'?"

:funny:

Of course I'll be hyped. But that's because I've wanted this for 18 years. Not because Zack Snyder is doing it. Heck, you could just make them stand together and I would be excited. That's to do with the characters, not with the filmmaking.

Basically team up and help him take down Lex? Or pretend to be dead and work together? Who knows. I still don't know why Lex hates Superman in this universe.

If you ARE asking me, I've been mugged twice, both times with a friend next to me. I gave the guy what he wanted and he left.

But if we're arguing that Thomas' terror that moment dictated him to jump at the mugger, then you know what? F**k this Batman, cos he's a little b**ch who couldn't handle that his dad cost him his and his wife's lives.

That's why your son won't be Batman.
