I think we are on the same page on a couple of things but just had two completely different emotional experiences while watching this movie. Which is fine and great but I am not sure this was what Snyder was going for as a storyteller. (The fact that we had such different responses) Bottom line is that I am glad you liked it. I really wanted to and the worse part is that I am no longer excited for the JL movie. Never thought I would say something like that. I am excited for SS however.
Oh, I get it. Doesn't make it any less pathetic. That sick kid was about showing what the character means to a lot of people, and that Snyder should have kept that in mind as opposed to trying to make the character cool in his own eyes.

Yeah, in retrospect it's clear why he initially rejected and dismissed the notion of him directing a Superman film. He's just not a fan of the actual mythos.I don't think what Snyder's done with superman is about making the character look cool. Obviously I don't know that for sure, but that's not the impression I get. It seems to me that Snyder wants to explore concepts surrounding the character, but doesn't find the character himself as interesting as those surrounding concepts.
Oh, I get it. Doesn't make it any less pathetic.
But keep on keeping on with that.
If you wanted to, you could have looked at his body of work. Instead, you looked at something that would garner the most sympathy, to help push your opinion/agenda.It's an example of what many people wanted to see from this version of Superman. It's not pathetic, it's pointing out the symbolism and the importance that was missing from the character in Snyder's movie. Yes, that image captured everything about Superman that has been more or less absent in the last two films. But please, continue trying to act like Snyder has done nothing wrong.

And the sick thing is, you end it with "but please, continue trying to act like Snyder has done nothing wrong". My point isn't about defending Snyder. I don't care what you say about him. ****in go after him all you want. It's about not using sick kids as props for your idiotic claims, to try and slam a director you hate. If he was so easy to slam, use his body of work, and stop using sick kids. I'm not talking about Snyder here, I'm talking about anyone who would be so pathetic to sink to that level. Apparently, you're defending it.
Again, keep on keeping on.
i hope this is a jokeWhat about the 1% speech. Essentially Batman's reasoning for wanting to destroy Superman. It is patently absurd logic.
Lets apply the reasoning to anything else.
"If there is even a 1% chance that North Korea will bomb us we have to take it as an absolute certainty. They must be destroyed".
"If there is even a 1% chance that this person that has just walked into my store is a shop lifter I have to take it as an absolute certainty, Call security".
"If there is even a 1% chance that a muslim could be a terrorist, we have to take it as an absolute certainty. We must destroy the religion
"If there is even a 1% chance that this person drinking in my pub could turn violent, I must take it as an absolute certainty, Kick him out".
If there is even a 1% chance that Iraq have Weapons of mass destruction, we must take it as an absolute certainty. They must be destroyed". oh....wait......
I cannot believe that this idea went from the script, to the director, actor. etc....and no one said. hold on. this is absurd......How did it get through?
There is so much wrong with this film. It honesly amazes me.
no wayThis isnt Superman.

Yeah, his body of work apparently isn't the best, but MUCH better than pathetic individuals who love to use sick kids as props, who aren't smart enough to come up with their own individual opinions. His body of work? You mean the body of work that has never gotten critical acclaim or widespread appeal? The body of work where he's struggle to time and time again to put the story above the visuals?
You really should check the RT score. That's the proof. Why think for yourself when the critics can do that for you?Yeah, his body of work apparently isn't the best, but MUCH better than pathetic individuals who love to use sick kids as props, who aren't smart enough to come up with their own individual opinions.

Someone finally understands why it's so pathetic. So Snyder doesn't understand Superman because someone posts a photo of a sick boy hugging a cosplayer? I fail to see how that's got anything to do with the film whatsoever. Because it doesn't. It's like Roger Moore getting slagged off for films he didn't even appear in.
