Yup. I just hope they show a few minutes of footage and not just the short (and G rated...ugh) teaser.
What's wrong with the trailer being a G-rated trailer? Superman is for all ages and it doesn't have to start off or show the action right away.

To the bolded: Yes, but the movie is going to be PG-13 anyway.

Anyway, to the rest of it, it's just a personal preference of mine, nothing else. TDKR teaser was PG-13 and imo had nothing to justify it, pretty uneventful. I had hoped to see brief glimpses of action in a MOS teaser (like the non G rated TASM and Avengers teasers) and WETA's work, because the movie had been in post for quite a while. And also it would be good to let the public know right away that this is a ´´physical Superman`` as Snyder likes to call him. First impressions are important. Nobody will remember a Superman teaser after TDKR if it's just a bunch of wide shots and character faces. But I'll wait and see, perhaps it will be amazing regardless. Zack is usually great with teasers, but he might be too controlled on MOS.

People remembered the SR teaser and that was G rated and IMO one of the best teasers ever made. Also TDKR teaser had no rating much like what Superman is going to. Meaning it is suitable to show with all movies. Till they put the action in.

Did they? Didn't help much with BO (It did OK, but for MOS Im sure the studio is expecting a lot more...) And the SR teaser was not in front of TDKR, a near 3 hour epic conclusion to an amazing trilogy. I agree about the quality of the SR teaser though. But MOS is moving in a whole other direction and also correcting what many held against SR - the lack of action - so it would be nice to indicate that in it's first public showing.

if they can't show much action in the teaser, then they really need to get across that MOS has a much more "epic" feel to it, a larger scope, and/or the sense that this is a more "personal" story of the man behind the S.

something along the likes of "Every Legend has a beginning" or something like that.

Perhaps because it needed to rehabilitate the character (from the Schumacher films), the first BB teaser was enigmatic. Basically, it tried to convince the viewer that the movie on offer was interesting/engaging/scary/suspenseful - in general terms. And then the surprise: it was a Batman movie.

Maybe MOS will attempt a similar strategy for its teaser.

yeah.......I can see them making the teaser very sci-fi/alien and drawing us into that......then at the end reveal it's Superman.

or else show some kind of crime/disaster, make it seem like hope is lost, then.....boom......Superman shows up to save the day.

basically, the audience will be intrigued by the setup but won't know it's a Superman film until the end.

I would love this so much. I won't expect it, though, seeing as how the teaser's rated G. I can't even imagine what a G teaser would be like.

Here are 3 G rated teasers to help you out.

300 teaser. Movie was rated R of course, but for some reason this teaser was rated G (approved for ALL AUDIENCES) despite the fact that it has, what you may call violence (the ´´THIS IS SPARTAAA`` kick).

Batman Begins teaser was also G rated.

As was Superman Returns.

Can't remember what rating that fantastic Watchmen teaser had but that one was normal trailer length anyway.

Wow, I'm surprised that 300 teaser was G. And that was an awesome teaser. Guess we may get some glimpses of action after all. If MoS contains almost as much footage as that 300 one (not quite as much since it's 20 seconds shorter), I'll be a very happy camper.

I just hope the teaser give me the same chills like Watchmen and Superman Returns, something similar that could give a bit of mystery, like the examples mentioned earlier.

Let's take a look at all of the teaser trailers for Snyder's movies and let's see what we can expect.....

Dawn of the Dead....
[YT]GRIVaXrgddg[/YT]

300 (as posted above)...
[YT]lnRY0c-N2QE[/YT]

Watchmen...
[YT]mSrgvJ2JyHs[/YT]

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole...
[YT]x8RKCmkOyB4[/YT]

Sucker Punch...
[YT]mHHJVDSRn08[/YT]

After watching all these trailers, I'm officially excited for the MOS teaser.

Holly crap, I forgot how awesome that SR teaser was. Too bad the movie wasn't as epic/cool.

The SR teaser gave me goosebumps it was so good, I cant wait to see thr MOS teaser!

Dude thanks for posting those teasers. He definitely did a great job on those. Made me want to watch those movies all over again lol I think he does a very good job of intriguing the viewer with his teasers. I honestly preferred his shorter ones best out that group.

I'm curious as to how much influence he has on the trailers and how much is the studio.

Zorex?

I just noticed that the Sucker Punch teaser was exactly a minute and 27 seconds long. Isn't that the exact length of the MOS trailer? At first I was worried about the short runtime of the teaser, but after watching that, I'm not at all worried now. There was plenty of footage in there. I am confident that we are going to get some epic shots in the MOS trailer.

Superman Returns NEVER happened...

so lets just reuse that teaser :D

Well I'm going to go against the popular trend and say that I enjoyed Superman Returns. It was far from perfect, but it could have been MUCH worse.

Any film can be much worse. I think the biggest mistake was making it a 'sequel' to the older films.

That and the last fight being against a big rock. oh wait, wasn't a fight... the final... conflict was 'how much can superman squat.'

Here's my POV on that. Even though a punch wasn't thrown (which wasn't necessary to begin with), the lifting of New Krypton was very much a strong part of who Superman is. Yes, the island was partly made of Kryptonite, but what else was he going to do? Either he do something about it or it keeps growing and the Earth would ultimately suffer the same fate that his home planet suffered. If he hadn't done anything, it would have eventually wiped out the planet and killed billions of people. So his love for his new home, along with brute strength eliminated the threat. So in my eyes, his passion and his love for his adopted home is what Superman (the character) is all about. Yeah his powers are awesome to be sure, but who he is and what he stands for is who he is. Granted, I can't wait to see his powers on display, but who he is, is the best trait of all. IMO of course. :woot:
