What's wrong with the trailer being a G-rated trailer? Superman is for all ages and it doesn't have to start off or show the action right away.Yup. I just hope they show a few minutes of footage and not just the short (and G rated...ugh) teaser.

People remembered the SR teaser and that was G rated and IMO one of the best teasers ever made. Also TDKR teaser had no rating much like what Superman is going to. Meaning it is suitable to show with all movies. Till they put the action in.To the bolded: Yes, but the movie is going to be PG-13 anyway.
Anyway, to the rest of it, it's just a personal preference of mine, nothing else. TDKR teaser was PG-13 and imo had nothing to justify it, pretty uneventful. I had hoped to see brief glimpses of action in a MOS teaser (like the non G rated TASM and Avengers teasers) and WETA's work, because the movie had been in post for quite a while. And also it would be good to let the public know right away that this is a ´´physical Superman`` as Snyder likes to call him. First impressions are important. Nobody will remember a Superman teaser after TDKR if it's just a bunch of wide shots and character faces. But I'll wait and see, perhaps it will be amazing regardless. Zack is usually great with teasers, but he might be too controlled on MOS.

if they can't show much action in the teaser, then they really need to get across that MOS has a much more "epic" feel to it, a larger scope, and/or the sense that this is a more "personal" story of the man behind the S.
something along the likes of "Every Legend has a beginning" or something like that.
Perhaps because it needed to rehabilitate the character (from the Schumacher films), the first BB teaser was enigmatic. Basically, it tried to convince the viewer that the movie on offer was interesting/engaging/scary/suspenseful - in general terms. And then the surprise: it was a Batman movie.
Maybe MOS will attempt a similar strategy for its teaser.
yeah.......I can see them making the teaser very sci-fi/alien and drawing us into that......then at the end reveal it's Superman.
or else show some kind of crime/disaster, make it seem like hope is lost, then.....boom......Superman shows up to save the day.
basically, the audience will be intrigued by the setup but won't know it's a Superman film until the end.
I would love this so much. I won't expect it, though, seeing as how the teaser's rated G. I can't even imagine what a G teaser would be like.

Holly crap, I forgot how awesome that SR teaser was. Too bad the movie wasn't as epic/cool.As was Superman Returns.

Can't remember what rating that fantastic Watchmen teaser had but that one was normal trailer length anyway.
