The Comic-Con footage is understandable. But everyone I talked to at my midnight screening was laughing that they used Gandalf's death music in the trailer. It is was the first thing I noticed.

I've never seen all of the LOTR films but SEVERAL of my friends who are HUGE LOTR fans had no clue the music was recycled for the teaser

I don't see why people are so surprised. Is Lord of the Rings in some special category that makes it wrong to ever use music from it in a non-LOTR trailer? More recognizable themes than Gandalf's death have been used as stock trailer music.

Music from Batman Begins was used for V For Vendetta's trailer.

Not sure how big of LOTR fans they are then. That is like not knowing the opening of Planet Krypton. :D

It is very identifiable for some. Like if you were a HP fan and you heard Hedwig's theme in a trailer or if the next Spider-Man trailer used the Imperial March.

Identifiable themes get used in trailers. How many times have you heard the Beetlejuice theme attached to some trailer for a comedy horror movie?

I heard it with ParaNorman tv spot I saw the other day. Marked out a bit. Fit so well. Of course it also isn't associated with the death of a great wizard. :cwink:

The more I see of bearded Clark traveling, the more I think both Ma and Pa Kent will kick the bucket. I think this could be a bold move.

Ma Kent wont die. She's around when Zod is in town. Pa, on the other hand....

Re "Using Alaska instead of Africa": I think it's easier to pass off Vancouver as Alaska than Africa. :o

 Forgive me then, it's been a long time for me and my faulty memory.

I'm guessing the that bus rescue during his youth is the first time that Clark is able to determine as to how strong and durable he is, hence adding to the look of shock on his face when Lana turns around to look at him from outside of the bus.

also you see a bearded clark take a long pause as a bus passes him by it seems like something that has affected him his whole life

Same here.I think putting the Alaska stuff instead of Africa was a big mistake. It makes Clarks worldly travels unnecessarily similar to Bruce's in BB.He even spots a beard like Bruce did.If Clarks travels result in him discovering his purpose in the icy fotress just like Bruce discovered his in the Icy Temple of Shadows, ill say Mos is ripping off way too much BB.

Not to mention that he seems to be channeling Bale's voice in the CC footage. "Where do I come from?" Sounds just like Bale :o So weird. And then when he's "Superman" he sounds like Routh :funny:

Aha! So he will use different voices. :o

So does that mean that he'll sound like Tom Welling for the scenes that he plays a farm boy in Kansas?:wow::wow::wow:

Judging from the TDKR teaser -Jorel speeches seem to imply that Clark is predestined to become Earths savior.I absolutely HATE that idea. The predestination angle completely misses the point of Superman.Clark becomes Superman because he was taught by the kents to use his powers for the good of the world. He chooses to be Superman not because of some Prophecy Crap form Jorel. That prophecy Crap comes from Donners which Mos should be staying away from.

You know Im strongly beginning to suspect that the rumours that Mos is basically a Nolan/Goyer remake of Superman 1 and 2 are true. There seems to be more evidence to support this-The Soulsearching in an Ice country, the Predestination angle,Zod and his goons,Clark getting his suit from the Fotress after a talk with Jorel etc.Im not quite happy about that
