), buildings etc, but they could be caused during either scene/scenes.
t:nice job HD!
Never saw the trade show stuff. Are there pics?
nice job HD!
)I guess that Kal El's baby blankets will serve the function of Cape.
Look at hopefuldreamer being all informative, nice work.I had fun reading it.

Yes.
Also there was a photo of a DP newspaper clipping/prop by Lois Lane. She reports about a mysterious illness (in Smallville? possibly related to meteorites ?).
(Since this is now in the spoiler sub-forum, I assume tags are unnecessary)

Just speculation on my part.I did see that, but as I was reading the bit of the article you can see, I couldn't see an actual mention of meteorites being the cause. Just a story about a women who is sick.
Though yeah, logical assumption![]()
The article is called “Heaven Above, Earth Below” - which is slightly odd for a typical “mysterious illness” story (say, abnormally high rates of cancer near a factory or some such). Plus - there’s a photo of a hand holding a black substance. (Black meteorite? Black kryptonite? Black Zone? Black Zero?
t
Not really. All spiolers piont to Clark getting a ready made suit from Krypton not a homesown baby blanket suit. The suit coomes from krypton and clarks getting from the fotress.I guess that Kal El's baby blankets will serve the function of Cape.
I think you forgot this one.Okay so now that this is the spoiler section, i'm gonna post my list of everything I can think of that we know. If anyone can think of anything else please say, cause i'm trying to keep a record. (I haven't included some obvious things like the official description and scenes from the trailer/comic con footage descrip, but i'm obviously aware of them).
Looking at casting info we know:
- The Main cast is as follows: Henry Cavill as Superman, Russell Crowe as Jor-el, Ayelet Zurer as Lara, Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Richard Schiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick
- We also have scenes with Clark, Lana, Pete and Whitney Fordman at (according to IMDB) age 13 and Clark at 9.
- If other IMDB listings are correct (big if), then we also have Steve Lombard in the cast (Michael Kelly) and Tahmoh Penikett (BSG, Dollhouse) listed as Henry Ackerdson (previously listed as Emerson). Also Alessandro Juliani (Dr Hamilton from later seasons of Smallville) as Sergeant Sedowsky and David Paetkau (cameo in early Smallville episode) as a Threat Analyst. There are also a few of minor characters listed as 'train mom, train girl, train dad', so we can assume something happens on a train (which could either correlate with pictures of filming at 'Metropolis Central Station' or the report that there is a scene in Smallville where a train is run through a Sears Store)
Interviews/tidbits:
- In an interview, Julian Richings (who plays Death in Supernatural) said he was playing a kryptonian and had scenes with Jor-el and Zod. He said it was a setting the size of a hockey arena surrounded by green screen, and that it was on krypton.
- Richard Schiff (Dr Hamilton) confirmed he has scenes with Amy Adams and Chris Meloni.
- We know from Russel Crowe's tweets that he does indeed have a fight scene with Michael Shannon. He also said he was 'trying to save a planet here'.
- David Goyer has said that his 'aha' moment came when reading Secret Origins, when Clark is first told of his origins by his father and says 'I don't want to be different, I want to be Clark Kent. I want to be your son'. He says Geoff Johns stories have been an advantage to him as a screenwriter.
From set pics:
- There appears to be a tornado scene in Smallville. However, as there also appears to be a lot of action between Zod and Faora (and speculation about third spotted mo cap man) and the military, it is unclear what 'damage' pictures correlate to which disaster. We have a lot of pictures of damaged vehicles (truck impaled on log sticks out in my mind), buildings etc, but they could be caused during either scene/scenes.
- Superman gets thrown into a bank vault by someone/something.
- Clark is at some point in full Superman suit on the kent farm, as is what looks like Michael Shannon in one image next to the Kent farm where there is a truck/trailer coming out of the building, and one more mo cap man at same scene.
- At some point, a gas station is destroyed in Smallville
- There is a fight scene involving Faora and an unknown man in a mo cap suit, with a stick on his head (so obviously a big dude, whether it turns out to be Zod in some kind of armour and it was just easier for a stunt double to film those scenes, or an unknown character)
- There is a lot of military presence in Smallville
- At some point there were reports of smoke machines being used in scenes in Chicago, to fill the streets with smoke.
- Clark will at some point be dressed like a hobo, with a full beard, in an Alaskan fishing village. He also sports an apron in a few pictures.
- Amy Adams also appears to have scenes in that setting.
- There is some kind of disaster on what looks like an oil rig, that a shirtless, bearded Clark attempts to save workers from.
- Both Russel Crowe and Henry Cavill where pictured at a Dive Training place.
- There is a scene including Superman, Lois, Faora, Chris Meloni and some other military characters that happens in the desert. Unconfirmed reports say it involves Faora negotiating with the military to hand over Superman and then Lois Lane as well on Zod's orders.
- A picture of a gravestone with JK's name on seems to indicate he dies in this film (unless it's some sort of dream?)
From a leaked call sheet:
Descriptions of scenes on Krypton:
- Jor-el swims up to the central hub, retrieves Codex, alarms go off, dives back under
- Lara touches Jor-el's armor where someone's sword/energy lance went through
- Two unclear scenes that involve Jor-el and something to do with Kelex.
- Jor-el and Lara say goodbye to baby Kal-el
- Codex is infused into the ships heart
- Ship's pod closes and it goes into the air, with Jor-el and Lara watching below.
Another scene revealed in the leaked call sheet info involved an altercation in a bar. We have a character called Ludlow, Chrissy and Weaver. Generally the scene is described as a rowdy bar with live music and beer being thrown around. It has been said that Clark will be confronted by Ludlow and have to keep his anger in check.
From the WB Tradeshow:
- Pics of: Jor-el with a battlesuit and some kind of rifle, Zod with rifle, Zod being shackled around the neck and hand, Zod in a prison structure called the Black Zone that floats and is also a transport vehicle. Guards patrol the rooms. The Black Zone over the Metropolis skyline, a scout ship of Jor-el's that landed in the arctic, with supes suit inside (artwork of the cock pit was also shown). A key that activates the ship.
Rumours:
- A rumour stated that Kal-el is a lost Kryptonian prince prophesised to save the world.
- There is a rumoured scene of the Kents taking a kid Clark in to a hospital for a check up, and windows smashing when he let out a super cry.
I think you forgot this one.
Last night at a VFX conference there was a sizzle reel shown by Weta. In this sizzle reel there were two beta level (most likely from a trailer) clips shown. One only about 6 seconds long, the other much longer.
The former was Clark Kent grabbing a truck with a crying man inside of it while flying through the middle of a tornado. It looked incredible. Henry Cavill can fly, and he can hold a truck in one arm. Zack Snyder brings his usual visual flair, but somehow is still unlike anything he has made before. It felt like a Superman comic. Real heroism.
The longer clip was even more stunning. The clip consisted of Superman in full costume with Zod in the center of Smallville with Christopher Meloni yells at them through a megaphone next to a tank. Meloni warns them he will fire if they do not surrender. While he says this Zod [played by Michael Shannon] sizes Superman up. Shannon looks evil as he can be. Bone chilling even.Cavills Superman is a wonderful sight to behold in motion. Cavills pure size makes him the most believable Superman to date. Zod speaks in Kryptonian Do you know your native tongue, Kal-el? Superman looks stunned, and responds in English, Who are you? (there isnt enough Superman dialogue to judge Cavills performance fairly, but Id say he did well. Nothing spectacular from this clip.) Meloni curses, then into a walkie talkie orders the tank to fire. Superman hears this and turns to the tank. Zod takes this opportunity to sucker punch Superman ,then when the tank fires Superman rushes in front of Zod, despite the punch and catches the exploding missile near his stomach. The flames ripple around him, hit his face, his cape, his eyes. The shrapnel hits him and bounces off. The same happens to Zod to a lesser extent. Melonis shocked expression when they remain standing, silhouettes in a cloud of smoke, ends the clip.
Preachy? In what sense?
Well... it was a teaser. I don't remember Inception's or The Dark Knight's teaser causing an uproar of excitement either.
...Because they were teasers.
You will give them an ideal to strive towards, they will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall...but in time they will join in the sun, in time you will help them accomplish wonders.
I still fail to see anything remotely preachy about Jor-El's hopes for Kal-El.
They won't confirm it until a few months before the movie come out.I just wonder when WB will confirm or deny MOS getting the 3D post-production treatment. I mean, it's going to be in IMAX too, might as well squeeze out every dollar you can.
Looks like someone can add ability to recap to her special skills.Okay so now that this is the spoiler section, i'm gonna post my list of everything I can think of that we know. Not really. All spiolers piont to Clark getting a ready made suit from Krypton not a homesown baby blanket suit. The suit coomes from krypton and clarks getting from the fotress.
I was specifically referring to the cape.
I know that the Superman's suit is of made of Kryptonian tech and I am happy with that, since I always supported the idea that suit should be of alien origin, that reflects the way Kryptonians dressed.
I never liked the idea that Ma Kent made a suit of Kal El's baby blankets.
But, Goyer always finds a way to include some elements from past and present Superman Mythos (and comics) into his script, so it is possible that Cape be made of baby Kal El's blankets, and I wouldn't be against the idea.
It's just a speculation, we will know for sure when we see the movie.
Just look at Crowe's lines in the teaser:
First of all, how does Jor-El know Kal-El is going to turn out this way? Not to mention the fact that it makes Superman sound like the untouchable, unrelatable, perfect goody two-shoes he's always deriding as being. He's a good guy but I hope the script doesn't lay it on too thick. We need to see that Clark is someone we ought to emulate, not be told that.
I get what youre saying but i honestly cant see how that wld Clark obtain a capeless suit from the fort and then choose to have his baby blanklet added as a cape. Why?Its established Kryptonians wear capes,so the Super suit should already have it-and if it doest I cant see why clark wld choose to add it especially using his blanky.I was specifically referring to the cape.
