I think it looks pretty dark/somber at times. Like when the kid is running through the school hallway. It's not ugly necessarily, but if it is a ubiquitous thing, it could be a problem. And if on top of that you add the 3D... it worries me because I think the IMAX that I'm planning to watch it in may just be IMAX 3D.

Compared to a lot of actually DARK films, I just really don't see it.

How about catching a baseball with his son?

That'd be great, it'd link back to that 'throwing a baseball for his dog' scene in SR, one of the most significant scenes in the film

It seems like a lot of superheroes now need to learn to embrace who they are. If I was Wolverine, I wouldn't give up my abilities. Same thing if I were Superman.

Yeah this is an annoying thing in this age of superhero films. I'd rather watch these heroes being awesome and not moping. That was what was so great about the Avengers: no characters to set-up and 'find themself', just straight to doing what they do best.

I kinda buy it for Superman in this movie though. It seems he's not rejecting being a hero (instead actively doing so at every turn: bus, oil rig) but is more at odds with the ramifications of revealing himself to an unexpecting civilization, especially with his adopted father telling him not too. But Jor-El telling him yes, become Earth's god. Like Goyer said in that recent interview it's about Clark choosing between his two fathers' wishes.

I don't have a problem with heroes learning to embrace, accept, or adjust to superhero life. I do become a bit weary if an entire film revolves around it. Part of this weariness might stem from the tv show Smallville which seemed to drag out this premise for ten seasons.

That scene never sat right with me from when I saw it in the theatre. The dog is exhausted and then Superman throws the ball a mile away again. It was like Singer bringing in a bit of superdickery.

lol; well to be fair, some of those characters aren't exactly what you'd call 'traditional' heroes.lol We have Thor, who's had a thousand years worth of experience, something that audiences didn't really have a chance to see within the film and the only thing that we got to see of his journey was him learning humility.

The other characters, well they had previous solo films to deal out with that so it's only fitting that the ensemble film doesn't deal with the theme of "finding themselves".

The only thing that I hope not to see in MOS is Cavil's Clark taking too many traits after his Earth 1 counterpart. Man, now that's a great example of what Superman shouldn't be like when donning the suit.

Unless someone can give me a good reason to say otherwise, Warner Bros. you guys OFFICIALLY suck when it comes to promoting your film. If MOS is labeled a critical success but doesn't make great numbers (ala J.J Abrams Star Trek) then blaming the poor marketing of this film wouldn't be out of the question.

That fight atop the train gave me that feeling of my scalp being pulled back (weird variation of goosebumps). The action looks cool, and anything Japan-related instantly becomes more interesting to me. I'll give it a shot.

I don't like how Snyder darkened the palette even more from the teaser. Compare the shots of the wave hitting the rock in the teaser and trailer. Totally different. He changed it to a very dark blue hue. I much prefer the lighter look in the teaser. #nitpics

I guess he's just applying the dark filter throughout the film for consistency sakes.

It's fruitless trying to guess what the exact color palette of the film will be before seeing it in a (good) theater. Because the company that puts together trailers very often color time it themselves, resulting in a look that might not be the final look of the film.

Wolverine trailer was disappointing. Where are the ninjas? It doesn't look like the Wolverine I've been a fan of. He wouldn't be into wearing suits, and the plot sounds silly and out of character. Losing mutant powers is Rogue's story. Wolverine would suck it up and deal. I still don't think they get the core of the character. He should be in Japan studying Bushido to control his animal instincts. Not get rid of his mutant powers.. PASS

It sucks that Aronofsky didn't get to make his Wolverine.

I think its rumoured that its around 2 hours 28 mins but that hasn't really been confirmed.

The marketing, or lack of, will pick up and with great pace towards the premiere of this film. So much that I think people might complain they're showing too much once the TV spots hit.

Same thing happened with TASM, people complained and complained about how they weren't showing enough and how it wouldn't captivate the audience enough from what was shown. Coincidentally, they were the same ones complaining a few months later on how they "showed too much" and spoiled the movie.

Marketing isn't nor will it ever be the perfect amount of exposure.

But the script and story Aronofsky would have worked from is almost the same, if not the same one, no? The fact that he showed interest in the thing at all is a good omen in my book.

It may have started the same (not sure if it was) but it certainly wouldn't end up the same. Directors can change a lot.

This is a good point. I hope that we get our moneyshots of Supes reaching out from the skulls and hints of the full extent of Metropolis final battle with the final trailer which will be repeated again and again with the tv spots, but that should be enough to tide me over until the film. We've got this far on so little. I do feel films these days are spoiled too much by the huge advertising push they receive in the weeks prior.
