It's one of the leftover elements from the Superman Lives script that Snyder decided to use. Only instead of fighting polar bears, Zod fights a black bear in a forest, skins it alive, and uses its hide for a cape.

you forgot the giant mechanical spider. Zod must.........MUST........fight a giant mechanical spider.......he cannot hope to defeat Kal-El if he can't vanquish that pesky mechanical spider..........:cwink:

Yeah cause that's what I said... :whatever:

I said I hope he doesn't wear it much at all. Like I hope it's in one scene and he takes it off really quickly... seriously... I don't like it much...

You haven't even seen the finished product. How could you possibly judge the mask as a Halloween costume?

1. I have every right to express an opinion on it, it's a costume designed to look like the character's outfit in the film... it's not just something completely unrelated

2. For the record, I doubt i'd like him wearing any mask at all, especially one that looks like that... It's just a personal preference.

3. Here we go with the 'jump on the fan who DARED say something negative' :whatever:

True. But that's doesn't mean it's fair to judge the look of the mask in the movie because of how it looks on the halloween costume. We don't know how it'll look in the film.

I'm pretty sure if we had saw this mask

Before seeing the screen version of Bane's mask, we would've all freaked out.

I've been seeing people in here for years making fun of that old script that had Superman fighting giant mechanical spiders....the giant mechanical spiders are the butts of million of jokes in the superman forums....but you know what...after watching Superman Returns and him fighting an island....I would welcome some giant mechanical spiders.

Then why is okay for people to comment on how cool it looks? Why are you not jumping on them saying 'how can you judge how cool it is, it's only a costume?'

Here's how....I think the mask looks goofy.

If there is a mask in the movie, it can be great looking, terrible looking, or so so looking. But my opinion of the Halloween mask is that it looks goofy.

Didn't one of the IMDB member that claimed to have seen MOS said that the reason Zod wore a mask was because he had to get used to our atmosphere first or something along those lines? Don't remember that well

D.J. Cotrona Dishes Details On His Superman Suit For Cancelled JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL

I’ve heard about the Batman suit that’s going to be used for George Miller’s Justice League and that it was this 7 foot ****ing monster. What was the Superman suit going to be like?

The version of Superman that we were going to build was incredible. We were very much leaning towards alien, you know, not like down and out Clark Kent, but a fully realized alien, alien god. This guy was always flying and the design of the suit was, there was very, very cool subtle details that were really cool, but tonally it was like a god, like the ultimate powerful god and the relationship between Batman and Superman that we were going to make in this movie was the one that I always wanted to see. Still do, still do, man. It’s a damn shame we didn’t get to finish that one. Hopefully it will work out and Warners will be able to put it out eventually.

Why is it he says pretty much nothing in his answer? Lol

That mask looks waaaay too much like a Stormtrooper mask that's repainted and missing the lenses.

To me, it's like they combined a snowtire and a Stormtrooper....

Good or bad comment, you can comment on the Halloween mask all you want, I'm just saying I feel its dumb to judge it as if that's how its gonna look in the film when it probably won't.

A Halloween mask is supposed to be a "representation" of what will be in the movie. That means we know it isn't an exact replica...but it should be something that closely represents it. So....if someone sees the Halloween representation and does not like it...then they have a perfect right to say that they hope it isn't used much in the movie if that is what it will look like.

Get it?

On The lego toys, the helmet had lenses.I don't think the Halloween costume accurate.

Co-signed.

Like I said, TBH I think any mask would annoy me. I just don't like the idea of him wearing one.

And if it looks anything like the costume one in that pic (which it probably will look something like, because they haven't just pulled that design out of no where), then it'll be really annoying.

I mean, I'm not even sure how I feel about Zod's look AT ALL so far, but i've been keeping my mouth shut until I see actual footage to judge it on.

This is different though. Anything even resembling that mask is never going to look 'good' to me.

That said, it won't stop me loving the film. I hate Bane's voice to this day and TDKR is still my fave superhero movie of all time.

Your opinion is invalid. LOL j/k

It's not the greatest looking mask, but I think the finished product in MoS will look great.

...Ain't that the same dude (playing Zod-mask display guy)?

Dem eyes...!

In fairness, I just really really think we need to get a proper idea of what the hell Zod is supposed to look like at different stages in this film...

I mean, from the toys we have these four looks:

It's not exactly consistent is it :(

So I guess at some point he has a beard, and at some point he doesn't? Sometimes he'll be in armour, sometimes he won't (hopefully armour on Krypton, no need for it on earth... which would also explain why he has a scar when he has the armour on). As for the white faced guy... who the hell knows :p

Oh save it. :whatever:

I'm not here to 'jump' on you for a negative view. I'm not even calling you out. I was asking a valid question without any trace of hostility. Halloween costumes take civil liberties and, at times, are a poor representative of the official product.

You don't like the mask? Fine. I could care less. Not everyone is going to agree but could you wait for an official still before condemning it as a whole?

At one point they were thinking of casting Ben Kingsley as a Nosferatu-type alien Zod...
