Fans aren't thinking of what it would be like as a general fan. That's the main problem.

Thats always been the problem. Its the same when Studios really start amping up marketing and fans complain they are 'showing too much' or 'spoiling the movie'. They forget that the general audience does not follow these movies as feverishly as we do.

I wonder if the TV spot for tonight is what Jim was referring to.

The lack of trending isn't great, but honestly not sure it matters right now. Mainly because I have a feeling that if you do the twitter thing, chances are great you have seen the trailers, and thus this footage probably doesn't excite you.

I agree that this wouldn't turn people off, but what I fear is they are not making it look "cool". The effect being perceived as "cool" for Batman, Bond and the Avengers the last year did wonders.

The general public doesn't really care about Superman cinematically. They dig the logo, and merchandise featuring said logo, but that is a different story. WB has to make the general public care about Superman on screen like they do Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Batman. This is their main objective and they just stood outside all our houses and tapped on the glass. In the next couple months they better have busted down our doors and started sleeping on our couches.

Lone Ranger & Hangover III, both were trending.

I can get behind that. Now here is to hoping they give the MTV Movie Awards a go.

Which shows how misleading trending can be, as either would be lucky to crack 150 million domestic.

Hangover 2 made $254,464,305 domestic --------------------------------------------------------------------------------= Worldwide: $581,464,305

I see. I was just guessing it would be all about the championship. Not surprised at Hangover III but Lone Ranger? wow

Yeah. Lone Ranger is a turkey.

I'm not saying means its going to make more than Man Of Steel, but it is certainly at least an indication about what people were discussing those two films and not Man Of Steel.

What it means? I don't know. You can't discount it though and brush it off, it's a valid part of the discussion.

Well, technically this included new footage. Previously we didn't see him actually speaking the line "where do I come from" -- rather the screen had faded black and it was just a voice over. :P

I think it's silly to complain when you get something and when you don't.

The marketing is meant for the general audience and showing a T.V spot during something that appeals to the general audience is a good thing. Considering how many movies the MOS trailer didn't play with for some reason the footage was new to the people who could make the movie a hit. EG. not us geeks.

I'm hoping this means WB is tired of the year of flops and are ready to get the marketing campaign started. Hopefully we get posters and new screen shots in the next two weeks.

Do you think that Man of Steel looks a bit "artsy" to some of the general public even though it is a superhero film?

Well to be fair, that means you can never complain. Even if the movie ends up not great.

New synopsis and first TV spot?

Confirmation of Michael Kelly as Steve Lombard makes me happy too.

I wonder if they'll play the same spot during commercial breaks at the MTV Movie Awards.

At this point, I think it is probably the most likely scenario. I remember a lot more advance talk about the exclusive Harry Potter and TDKR footage before the last two Award shows.

Lone Ranger might go down as the biggest bomb of all time. Apparently the production budget eclipsed 250 mill already. And this doesnt even include the marketing budget. That movie is going to make John Carter look like Titanic.

Totally agree with jim. And Jim is this what you believed was coming or is tomorrow bringing us something else as well?

I wonder if the TV spot for tonight is what Jim was referring to.

What I was told was "You're going to be pretty happy come tomorrow."
Which is why my post was "The sun will come out tomorrow!"
I'll find out in the next day or so if that's what the person was referring to.

Just looked on twitter. Being Human is trending? what the

ok, finally. the spot wasnt for us anyway so i'm cool with there being no new footage.
At least the public now knows whats coming..
