I figured that was fake. Too much material into one trailer to be believable, while the other description (more reliable source) summed up another story-orientated trailer.

Nah, you're right. With our luck EW will go back 10 years and do a summer preview in May instead of April like for the past several years or they give the cover to some other film.

I think you're getting the saying, " a grain/pinch of salt" completely wrong...a grain, or pinch of salt is very little, as in very little faith. So why would you say a handful of salt? That's a hell of a lot of salt and a good bit of faith.

What really makes the marketing look even worst ( maybe more than it actual is ) is that it was so redundant where every marketing move felt old, like a flashback..everything they released did not seemed fresh..What they must do with the next step is get out of that corridor, and get away from the desert, if you know what I mean

Great idea for sports fans but terrible for us (dedicated fans foaming at the mouth waiting for just one second of new footage or an indication that the movie is close...who also watch trailer 2 everyday to hold them over until something new is released)t:

I'm amazed that people don't know the difference between a TV spot and a trailer. Over 80 tweets in the past 15 minutes titled Newest 'Man of Steel' Trailer Shows a Pensive Superman all with a link to the TV spot. Sigh.

All promotion is good promotion. It may not have been that very well put together but it was a first of at least 15 TV spots and it was far better than nothing. Just wait for the spots that will play in the NBA playoffs.

Fair enough but you don't understand the agony t: I was doing fine enough until I almost got a heart attack when I saw "new man of steel tv spot" only to be crushed at it being a shortened trailer 2. Now I refresh my screen every 10-15 mins to see "New Man of Steel Trailer"

Not sure where this is discussed but what do people think of the idea of Braniac having something to do with Krypton's destruction? Do we know anything about how Krypton is destroyed? I always thought it was a cool plot twist introduced in the 90's that it was actually Braniac, it fuels their rivalry and hatred even more. If they even hinted at him he could be then fully realized in the sequel. Possibly the first time Branaic would be introduced in live action they way he was intended.

The TV spot was a great idea. To inform and excite a potential new audience who doesn't know of the film's existence. To them, the footage was all new.
