I didn't immediately think bank.

Mainly because my mind went to Superman breaking OUT of there.

He's facing us and that's definitely the outside of the thing, so he's definitely not just broken IN to somewhere.

So my first thought - Government have tried to lock him up, and he's just busted out.

But it could easily be that Zod's thrown him into it too.

It's just such a tease!

This is the best part. Speculating.

Instead of a safe vault, the Goverment should of tried dropping a piano on Superman...that always get ya!

My guess is though, he's stopping bank robbers. Never get tired of seeing that old routine

I thought it was obvious that someone had obviously thrown him back and from the look on his face and his pose it looks like his just standing up and about to whoop ass. Then again like others have said it could merely be an image to show of the suit and to provide a feel of what this movie is aiming for.

Like others have stated, it may not even be related to the film. That said, its fun to speculate, so, what if this shot is inside the fortress and something is inside the vault and supes is protecting it, or, maybe he just got randomly thrown into it while fighting in smallville or Metropolis..

I like the idea of maybe having people inside the vault that he is protecting putting himself between them and whom ever he is fighting.

I honestly don't think they would create something as awesome as that, have us speculate on what he's doing there, and then not have it in the movie.

I'll be disappointed if "Selina Kyle" dressed as "Catwoman" , doesn't actually drive the Batpod, and its just there there to tease us, and piss us off if its just there to show off the costume, you know?

Do you think that's a psychological thing? Like because it was unseen at first, we were able to judge the suit without negative bias from immediately seeing the change, and now that we've all sort of accepted there's no pants there, no one is really complaining!

It is psychological. That shadow covering the trunks area achieves the same effect the trunks did, breaking up the blue form. It still remains to be seen how this suit will be accepted once we see what is there instead.

I said that from the start. I know how people work, studying psychology helps

And I was the first to discover the design of the belt and that he had nay trunks, I take pride

That actually sounds pretty plausible. Nanobots repairing Superman's suit when damaged,etc.

I think it be cool if the Fortress was created from collected nanobots in whatever Jor-El sends Clark. The nanobots recreating everything from Krypton, from computers to statues.

BTW, chances are I'm wrong.

But there is a scene in the first ever Superman comic, where he rips the vault door of a safe to save 10 people trapped inside. That pic of Cavill might have something to do with that. I think that scene was in Lois And Clark, where Lois was trapped in a vault with some other guy, and Superman smashes through the wall.

I would imagine it is just a promo shot for the film and was probably taken weeks ago.

They probably took numerous amounts of poses and selected that one. Similar to what they did with Returns.

Just my speculation.

Well for instance, this one was taken in the same photo shoot as the first released picture. This is one of many, and is a much better first show. I'm sure there are more from the Cavill shoot as well. They picked that shot on purpose and stage it on purpose to hide the lack of trunks and whatever is on the side legs. Now that they found this suit had a fairly good reception, they can show other angles and reveal the "true colors" of the suit.

^I always felt this was the one they should have released. Looks a lot better, but people never post this one when they are trying to show how bad the costume is.

GreenKToo, from the pic it looks like he was hit by a shell (which is in the pic, in the upper part) and thrown into the vault which he looks to be getting up from, thats my take on the pic.

I don't know, a tank shell maybe. Not that I know what they look like, but considering the damage on the vault door it looks like it was caused by superman being thrown into it.
