I have seen a very similarly designed \S/ here, but not that particular image. Thats a first for me.
Seems weird having the classic \S/ on the back, and a different one on the front.

Because they like the suit and want it to go over well with the general audience.

I personally think there's been less adverse reaction because what we see of the costume looks so great, and the controversial part-the trunks or lack thereof-is conveniently hidden. Once there's a full reveal and Superman is in silly looking full body unitard pj's with no trunks to break it up, the jokes from the GA will be even more neverending.

So, when it is revealed that Superman isn't wearing man panties, and because WB did that because people often make fun of said man panties, when the general public sees that they are not there their reaction will be to make fun of the absence of things that they were previously making fun of?

I really don't get that argument.

I think the argument is that they get rid of the TRUNKS, there won't be enough detail to make up for the lack of the trunks, or whatever they do to replace them won't be all that visually appealing.

With so many physical sets, what do you guys think the budget of the movie wil be? Im guessing 210 milion.

Instead of people making fun of the trunks which you sneer at by calling them man panties, people will sneer at Superman wearing full body pj's like he was a baby. So you like Supes in his pj's looking like a ballet dancer or a baby. I like Supes in trunks looking like a circus strongman.

Not so much the appeal of the trunks, it's just replacing them with a full body sock is lame, as he will look like a baby wearing pj's or a ballet dancer. Not too manly either way.

Ballet dancer tutu is a lot lamer than a strongman's trunks. And Superman fans shouldn't think he is lame.

I don't Superman is lame and I don't think his costume is truly lame. But if Im being honest and being a realist. Underwear is lame. Their both lame but the one Ballet dancer costume will look and be more realistic in this day and age.

Its going to have some seams and new design around the area to break up the blue. Plus, the darker color helps too. I think Superman looks great and its exciting. Shows Superman being a badass just like in the cover of Action Comics #1. We just need more pics because this one really doesnt do Cavill justice.

People will crack on the costume just as much without the trunks, if not even more.

Etc, etc. In fact, apart from this site, most of the reaction to the picture is insanely negative. Like absurdly so. I think it's pretty awesome myself, but that's because they hid the trunks area.

If there's some cool seamwork like SuperDaniel is thinking, that might make up for losing the trunks. I thought there might be a red line down the pants leg which would sort of substitute for it, but he pointed out it's just a seam.
