Shouldn't you be seeing it this week? It's out on the 25th over here.

Yeah i'm not sure i'm gonna see it on the 25th myself. That's a Thursday. I get entry for £5 if I go on a Sunday night, or any time Mon/Tues. Otherwise it's almost £10.

I'm pretty sure I can wait.

About superman's suit. I've just always assumed that most things from krypton are pretty much indestructable because of their exposure to krypton's red sun and who knows what else because of kryptons giant size.
Saw a superman comic once where he had to make his CK glasses with glass fragments from his crashed ship because normal earth glass couldnt take the stress of his X-ray and heat vision.
I'm guessing it would be the same with clothing from there. I dont think he wears the suit because he needs protection, he wears it because it can take the punishment from what he does.

Who knows. Maybe snyder will play into the whole *aura* thing in this. anything within so many centimeters of supes body is protected. I would prefer that its explanied because the suit is from krypton tho. we shall see.

I've never heard it explained that Kryptonian materials gain their durability from Earth's yellow sun. Pre-crisis, before the whole aura thing, I assumed they were extraordinarily durable because they were crafted by the technology of an extremely advanced alien civilization.

That same comic if I am not mistaken, revealed the reason that everyone cant tell the difference between Clark And Superman is because the Lenses amplify and transmit to others Clarks subconcious desires of how he wishes others to see him .

I hope Clark leaves Smallville before he has grown into Cavill. Infact I don't think we will see Clark leave Smallville on screen in the first place.

LOL, seriously?

Well, I guess they could also go the RIPD route. We see Clark walking around, but everyone else sees Marisa Miller.

Am I the only one who actually really likes the piping? I think it'd look wrong without it.

I like it too. In fact I like everything about the suit, aside from maybe wishing the colors were a bit richer and the cape had the \S/

I think DC kind of dropped the idea in future years, it didnt seem to catch on with fans

Yeah, that might be a little too far-fetched.

I think the problem with the glasses disguised isn't so much that it's hard to believe that he could disguise his identity that way. After all, there are plenty of people out there who look almost exactly alike other people. But the trouble is, he has so many interactions with people at the Daily Planet as both Clark AND Superman that it just seem ludicrous that none of them would be able to put two and two together.

If this film manages to overcome this hurdle in a realistic way, that might be its greatest achievement.

I think it's possible with some amazing psychological tricks to get even your close friends to believe you're not someone else they interact with regularly. It's like he'd give off this aura that makes people say "no, that can't be Clark" despite all the evidence that he is.

I'm seeing an evening screening on the Thursday. Hopefully I see the (new) MOS trailer and the Thor 2 trailer. :D

Sorry to disappoint but Cavill plays college age Clark who is home visiting during the tornado.

I always loved the idea of him moving too quick, making all the photos being blurred; and while impersonating CK, he would use a higher pitch for the voice, the glasses, big loosey clothes, etc.

About superman's suit. I've just always assumed that most things from krypton are pretty much indestructable because of their exposure to krypton's red sun...

This is correct. In the original mythology, any thing from a red sun world was “super” on a yellow sun world. So occasionally, a villain would get hold of a Kryptonian weapon (knife, gun) to which Supes was vulnerable. This also meant that the “ordinary” blankets that came with baby Kal-El were indestructible and could be fashioned into his costume.

The "aura" notion was clever. But I never liked the idea that the cape wasn't protected by it - and got regularly torn up as a result. So I prefer the old-school explanation. :word:

Do we know for sure if Clark only becomes Superman and dons the suit after the arrival of Zod or will there be a period where he's just dealing with Earth-based incidents while in the suit?

It looks like he dons the suit before Zod's attack to me.

It's possible that Clark leaves for Alaska at a fairly "young" age, and then when Superman arrives on the world stage, no one has seen him in years. Including those from Smallville.
he looks the same in the movie.

i hope that in smallville they know its him. it would be great if they know but dont tell. respect :woot:

He looks the same to us ;)
Just like the whole superman glasses fiasco.

Probably works better on paper.
I'm just saying dude disappeared into Alaska for years is all.

I love how I love everything shown so far but that it still feels like the tip of the iceberg. I mean for example; I'm choking at all the Jonathan and Clark interaction so far, I can't imagine how I'll feel seeing Jonathan die before Clark's eyes. :(

This is better than last weekend, pages and pages of talking about static.

Same here.

What do you guys think of this? Skip to 3 minute mark.

I don't really feel like watching that. What's the gist of her argument?

Yeah i'm sorry I got a minute in and just got annoyed. Why does her opinion matter again? Is she popular for some reason?
