I think with After Earth moving up a week, I think WB will move Man of Steel up a week as well. Wouldn't surprise me.
I bet Sony will move This is the End to 7th now. I don't think WB will move anything. They are way too confident for that.

but this is a 100% CGI shot.I actually like the dragonfly shot. It looks like something from LOTR. It reminds me how much Hobbit would have looked better if shot on film.![]()

Maybe they will push it up a few days and release it on Wednesday. It's happened before.
Does anyone get a Donner vibe watching the new trailer ? cause I DON'T.
I grew up with the first 2 Donner films. Hell, I sight seeing Donner's first film when i was 5, as the reason I became fascinated with film.
But to say that this re-interpretation is basically a remake of Superman 1 and 2 just seems to me, to be a unsubstantial argument, and quite honestly, seems to be a over-reaching point of view.
Nolan is helping Synder do exactly what he did with Batman
Where there elements in Nolan's film that were reflective of past incarnations ? Yes, but very few. Could Joker's hit me scene be reminiscent of Jack Nicholson's line in Burton's film ? Yes.
What i am trying to say is, while there may be "familiar" elements of previous incarnations of Superman in Man of Steel, calling MOS a remake of Donner's first two films, is such a fallacy.
But it's the same logic behind a remake, isn't it? The same characters, the same basic story, only told in a different way. It escapes the 'remake' label because you can use the excuse that they're not remaking the film, they're just taking inspiration from the same source material - the comics. Which is true, but in the movie realm, and on movie terms, it's kind of a remake.
Nothing wrong with that, though. Remakes can be soulless rehashes with nothing new to add to the original, but it's more than obvious that MOS is aiming for a novel spin. It can turn out better or worse, but it will be different enough.
Plus I expect MOS to have great Summer legs.
Updated cleaner version of the trailer music, little to no dialogue echo this time.

So would you argue then, that Nolan's film trilogy were remakes as well ?
Yes, it will definitely distance itself.

It's a little different, though, because it's not only about putting the same characters together in a film. MOS will contain the destruction of the planet, the childhood, the discovery phase, the 1st Superman outing, then the alien invasion, the fight... it's not only the same characters, it's the same plot points. TDK, not being an origin story, didn't have a mold to fit into the same way MOS does.
