Is this in reference to the comments made by Showtime and Jamie, two guys with insider info and not just a poster who wants everyone to feel the same way he/she does about things?

I am unaware about any comments made by Showtime and Jamie.
I am just sounding off on comments i have seen on the interwebs, and comments made by a few posters on here.

Also, I am not trying to force my opinions down people's throats. If you got that vibe from me, i apologize. I am simply stating my opinions, in response to what i have read from people on here.

It does basically sound like remake/reimagining/reboot of the first two Superman films and I'm okay with that because the execution looks amazing.

This. I feel like this is making a classic story comtemporary and relevant. Nothing wrong with that in the least, and I look forward to it. Though, saying that this is an original tale, would be a stretch. The backbone of the story can be more in step with Donner's I and II, but some of the details seem very close to Flyby. Not sure how much was of the story was borrowed from Abrams, but from the trailer it looks like it could have similar story beats with simply replacing Tyzor with Zod. I could be wrong though, but if it is I won't be disappointed at all.

Indeed. I am not a huge Synder fan at all, but you can't deny his eye for amazing visuals. I am very pleased with how it looks Snyder shot the film. A serious tone, but it also will contain fantastical elements that are necessary in a film like Superman. I also am obsessed with the alien-intergalactic vibe this film is giving me, something severely missing in Donner's 2 films.

To an extent i agree. So , I assume you hope that if we get a sequel, then the filmmakers can cover plot points never displayed on film before ?
Because Begins had certain plot points that had been displayed on screen before. But it was largely fresh and new, and i'm hoping that's what MOS can accomplish.
I am not arguing that MOS will have plot elements that have been displayed on film before. I am arguing that the plot elements that are familiar, will be covered in a completely new light, and thus, will have not Donner vibes attached to them. I just don't think it's fair for something to watch the new trailer, and then say it reminds them of Donner's films. I just don't understand that, when it's obvious the vibe of this film will be completely different than Richard's.

Absolutely. It's getting hard for me to pinpoint exactly what I want, though, because I definitely want Brainiac. Not Metallo or lamers like Parasite or Toyman. And if MOS already features a massive alien invasion, how do you do Brainiac without seeming repeptitive? Anyway, I digress.

So Ive heard that in this movie, Kryptonians live mostly under the surface of the planet and only come out to travel or attack each other. Wonder why that is?

I have so many questions about Krypton. Why the ban on interstellar travel? What were Kryptons plans for Earth? They obviously visited before, and the FOS has been on earth for who knows how long.

And why, when all other Kryptonians use their advanced tech to create "perfect" children with preordained paths in life, did the smartest Kryptonian Jor-El think it a wise decision to create a child the "old fashioned way"? He had to know it would cause chaos amongst his people. Why did he think it was so important? I dont buy that baby Kal-El was an accident, not if he is the ONLY natural birth in centuries.

So many questions...my head hurts now.

They may have incorporated a little science there in that the surface of a planet under a Red Sun is extremely hot and therefore uninhabitable. Someone posted a vid of the effects of a red sun in the previous thread.

You have the entire planet be threatened. Not just certain places, but the whole world.

NO NO NO, I totally agree ! I want Brainiac so much, because it would be a personal villain to Sups, especially if they relate Brainiac to Krypton. But at the same time, like you said, how do you introduce Brainiac without being repetitive with the whole alien invasion theme.

I dunno if anyone pointed it out, but I think this is the natural order of the scene in the movie:

Looks like he first looks at that S, make a smirk, and then says "It's not an S", unlike how it's cut in the trailer. Someone (Kane probably) can try merging the two together, and we will get a totally new scene.. :funny:

And that's it i'm afraid. I can't find the new still ANYWHERE.

I definitely think WB needs to move up MOS a week. After Earth has now basically made June 7 a clean slate, and regardless of WWZ's production issues, it's advertising is quite good, and a new Pixar movie included is only gonna make it harder for those BO numbers to rise (sorry, I mean "climb". The word "rise" belongs on another DC movie forum). :woot:

The only reason WB would want to keep June 14th is if After Earth is getting tremendous buzz as the comeback for M. Night Shyamalan (and Will Smith, I suppose, because he's slowly turning himself into less the star he used to be IMO).

P.S: If I don't respond to any replies, it's because I'm trying as hard as possible to keep away. The 3rd trailer was enough for me until the release.

God damn....Son of a B seriously looks like Superman.
Is it weird that Cavill imo looks more like Reeves than Routh did ? :woot:

The MoS trailer reaction probably motivated Sony to push AE ahead. Kinda dumb they didn't move it along time ago.

However now they won't be opening in #1 due to the carry over of people that didn't see either Fast 6 or Hangover 3 in the previous weeks. At the same time, they at least now have 2 weeks to make what ever money they will. Good luck to them.

The film itself. Not the trailer reaction. A late move like this means word is spreading on the lot how big it's gonna be. After Earth will still open to #1.

Well, there you go, I was right:

And look at what the security word was when I was uploading the GIF (I swear to Zod I didn't make this up):

you mean other studios feel MOS will be big??

I've made it clear that I never liked STM or its subsequent sequel. But there are story elements that are undeniably linked to the franchise. Superman has had so many origin interpretations, that at some point, its all going to overlap somehow.

It's almost like the spider-man series at this point. Sure they changed things around a bit, but it was still essentially the same film as 2002 which was a really good movie.

The difference here is that STM came out in 77, for me, I really wanted to see an updated version and a modern take. Plus superman's origin is really one of the best out there, so why not.
