They cut GL down because it was terrible and the studio knew that.

WB have stated several times that they are extremely proud of MOS, so why would they cut it down?

:huh: The extended cut (only 9 minutes but still) was a bit better than the theatrical release. Still a stinker but slightly less smelly. Cutting down is never good. I don't see how you can fit everything MOS seems (or up until now, seemed to) to include into 130 minutes without something not paying the price for it. Just can't. But hey, that's just me. :cwink:

Thought it would've been closer to BB's 140 mins.

Am i one of the few who feels we aren't getting main title credits ? I feel we will open with that S symbol animation shown at the end of the comic con trailer, and cut right into the film.

Cutting down always happens. And with GL, they were trying to maximize profits are a terrible movie.

Yeah and I'm fine with that just give me the S logo and get cracking :woot:

Star Trek is 126 minutes and you don't hear anyone complain.

As ThePhantasm said, pacing is everything.

Just looking at the material though, it just feels short. I understand pacing, but my first instinct is short.

I am expecting something like Nolan's DK films.

2hrs and 10 minutes is the exact running time, minus credits, of Batman Begins. It's fine, people.

He didn't exactly say 2 hours 10 min, but "around" so the movie could be slightly longer or shorter.

Needed another 5-10 mins. :o

As a big fan of Abrams Star Trek film, they short changed Nero quite a bit, while going on autopilot post-Vulcan.

Doesn't that runtime also include credits? So 10 mins shorter than Begins.

Yeah, I know you're talking about the new one, but I immediatly though of ST 09, which fit everything in without being rushed and had an awesome 10 minute prologue.(hence Krypton)

2 hours and 10 minutes running time confirmed.

Snydertalked to Empire confirming this.

Some quotes: "The movie is the director's cut."

When asked about 3D, Synder said: "
It is just my humble opinion, but it is better than native now. By the way, we like to think that the 3D is just another way of seeing the movie. It is not Superman 3D, it is Man of Steel, available in 3D."

And regarding the DC Cinematic Universe:
"I have been making references to the DC Universe, just to let you know that world is out there..."
converted 3D better then native 3d cameras?

Some times they do. Some times, they don't. Considering how far out this film is until it's release, I'm betting that 130 minute runtime is the film without credits.

S:TM was 143 minutes, didn't feel too long or poorly paced (not to me anyway) and MOS seemed to go even broader than that film so...but yeah, we'll see. And so what if so and so movie has the same run time? MOS isn't ST or whatever, I wan't something bigger and better. I hope none of the aspects (Krypton or Smallville, or Zod or the Ck/LL relathionship or whatever) are underdeveloped. Not that it will ruin the movie, it can still be great, but not quite the epic masterpiece I was expecting (IF any aspect falls short)

It's longer than Star Trek? No worries. I thought that movie was perfectly paced.
