Did a red selective gif...

The lasers really pop in this.

As someone who didn't give a damn about one character in Superman Returns, my main concern for this film is making me give a crap about everyone's fate and making the plot at least somewhat engaging. I have no problem pointing out flaws in visual effects and if you see something that bothers you a lot have it. Everyone is entitled to their informed opinion.

The movie really is really is tremendously entertaining.

:funny:
It has some terribly slow moments, but for the most part it is so entertaining in the worst ways possible. A lot of fun, especially if you watch it with friends.

Though I find it more entertaining as an adult then I did as a child. It was the one Batman film I didn't watch very often. I don't even think I had it on tape. Even then it was because I had a crush on Uma Thurman without even knowing it. :woot:

Very nice.

That is always the most important part of all films imo.

Wow, that cgi tiger is incredible. I never saw Life of Pi though

I hated it as a kid but now I see it for what it is. A big screen version of the Adam West Batman show.

Very nice.

It definitely should be.

I am going to go against the grain here.. I think Lex is the worst enemy of all time for Superman... IMHO, no 'humans' 'without powers' make good enemies... superman can hear all your plans (if you intend to cheat like using kryptonite), and destroy you from afar... That's the reason I also don't like it when they put batman up against superman, and when superman punches batman, he ducks.. how in the world do you duck when superman punches at sonic speed???? it's like ducking bullets.. and one punch is all it takes to end Batman for example.. (prob going get flamed here, i know.. but it is what it is)

Superman needs to fight 'super Villians', and 'armies of them'...

First problem, you're thinking of things in literal and fisticuff's terms. Batman(yes even Nolan's batman) could wipe the floor with Joker, yet it's that doesn't stop said enemy from doing major damage and inciting great plot.

Second problem being, you are insinuating lex works alone. Hardly.

Third, you may not have seen this little gem of a story.

Many argue it's the best/favorite superman tale thus far(many, not me).

The best part of the whole lex angle is that he hates our hero more than anyone, and it's justified in a twisted way.
-plz don't bring up Bryan Singer, he's a well known hack.

All that being said, I'm not saying I want lex next, but they should mention him. The dude pretty much runs that city.

Honestly I've watched that Soldier gif over and over and whilst I know it is CGI it hasnt stood out to me at all...

Many a film with a weak plot and sub-par cinematography that has grabbed me because of characters and performances.

The comic, not the movie (though it is good) is definitely my favorite Superman story. It is perfection in my eyes, up there with "The Empire Strikes Back", "The Gunslinger", and "Cowboy Bebop" for my favorite stories in any medium.

Yea, those two shots not being in trailer 3 takes balls(of steel).

I usually hate the animated movies(no thought bubbles, the fools), but all star really was a good film too.

I hope the do birthright after MoS is a success.

Well, with Sucker Punch, the RoboSamurai was blantant CGI, but Babydoll looked pretty real, and now that I know for a lot of the time she's "fake" I can kind of see where her lack of reality is, and it isn't the lack of texture or glossiness, but the movement. Without the breakdown, I would have thought that there were more traditional wire effects, albeit in a room with a green screen.

As for MOS, we're spoiled by preconceptions that the movie cannot beat in terms of FX. Ideally, it would be impossible to tell where the CG is and is not. But I think it's gonna have the best special effects in a superhero movie.

Lex is a great character and a great foil for Superman. I'm still not sure I want him in the sequel though, if 2006 hadn't happened I'm sure my feelings would be different. He could work in the sequel but I also want another villain who has never gotten the big screen treatment. That's where my Lex hesitation comes in.

While this may not be the most important thing in a story, one thing I'm sure we can bet on is the movie shouldn't boring. Zod's insurgence on Krypton, the bus scene, oil rig accident and the final battles in Smallville and Metropolis should be interesting. As long the movie makes you care about these characters in between these action set pieces this should be a thrilling movie.

I am a big fan of the DC animated films. Some are just a bit too short or straight forward, but they still work really well imo, especially the GL and Superman ones. New Frontier is awesome. The Wonder Woman one is also really solid.

It's a close gut punch, it's usually more effective in power than a long stretch punch....plus Zod was close by.

That's what I like about it, 9 times out of 10 that'd be a big haymaker but even just a short ribshot sends Zod flying. So badass.

The only CGI shot that bugs me a little is the one of Zod with glowing eyes. Everything else looks fine in my opinion.

Do you mind if I ask why out of curiousity? Because to me it appears to be his eyes heating up, and I think both shots look great; by both shots I mean we have an identical shot of Supes and I see no different between the two.

Mine does to. Speaking of which, I just noticed that a car flies up when Zod lands. And yes, those sonic booms on impact are straight up real looking. As are much of the flying scenes. [YT]Qvc6c7E-UF4[/YT]

I am talking more about how Zod is "standing". He looks like he might be being held up by Clark.

I'd want to see Lex if (which I think would happen) he's the Lex of now. And if there is super powered villain e.g. Braniac.

Joaquin Phoenix. That's all I'm sayin.
