Yes.

Edit: I take back everything I said he might adore Man of Steel. And again I forgot his appreciation for Snyder, I like Snyder as well and not because he directed MOS. I respect Snyder haters but I don't feel the same way and I'm not sorry about that.

I don't respect haters in general. :yay:

I won't be surprised if he likes MOS but I doubt he's going to rave about it like he just did Iron Man 3. He has obvious biases, he hates JJ Abrams and loves Marvel. Well, I remember him rightfully being hard on Thor and Iron Man 2.

Oh, I haven't been on BadAss in a while, it didn't know he was excited for MOS.

While I enjoyed Iron Man 3, I just don't understand Devin's intense love for that movie. I really think it's only due to the presence of Shane Black.

Now i liked Iron Man 3. I give it a B minus though. It just had a lot of weird problems with the story, well for me anyway.

Me too. If I gave TA an A-, TDKR a B, does that mean I'll give MOS AN A++? :wow:

I like Badass Digest, but I took a hiatus after Star Trek into Darkness came out. Not that it's because Devin didn't like it, but he beats the horse dead again and again.

For all the shots he takes at fanboys, he's no different. The difference being, Devin is an excellent writer. I actually like his style of writing when he's not being overly self-rightous.
I agree. I do agree with him that Trek 2 has a terrible script and major problems but his hate for Abrams and the reboot films are just so over the top and annoying. That being said I can't dismiss him because he is a great writer and I to varying degrees agree with a crapload of his reviews.

I know people hate him and I hate his biases as well but dammit he's still a damn fine reviewer. Anyone who can see the good in House of Wax and Orphan demands my attention.

I really, really wanted to love Iron Man 3. But by the time I walked out of the theater, I couldn't figure out if I liked the film or not. It's not a bad film. It has some great ideas and scenes, but it just didn't hit the right notes for me.

Personally I love JJ Abrams and cant wait to see what he does with EP7

I liked it.. but it didn't really feel like a superhero movie to me. And that twist:doh:

Yeah, my problem is his projection towards Abrams in general. It comes off as an insecurity sometimes, on Devin's part. However, I think Devin did say that JJ is talented but just needs to work with a great script in order to make a really great movie (Though I think his best film is the first Star Trek, script problems and all). I hope Star Wars 7 will be it.

That being said, Star Trek 2's script fell apart in the third act and there's no excuse for that. I liked it but it just lacked the ambition of the first film.

Did a hit-****ing article about how overrated Star Wars was. And yet did two separate videos fanboying about how much he loves Star Trek.

Perfectly entitled to that but... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I thought Iron Man 3 was good but I don't agree with that gushing review anymore than I agreed with his Avengers review. And no Trek 2 is flat out not as good as the original. I loved the first one but those writers need to be chucked from the 3rd film. The Trek 2 script reached Prometheus levels of nonsense.

And passion. And drive. And energy. And a good villain. Nero was better.

"Oh NO YOU DIDN'T!"

Yeah... yeah I did.

Sad but true.

Yeah..it was a strange move.

I'm telling you. It's insecurity issues. He's probably had to fight all his life to get where he's at, and good for him, but now doesn't know how to pull back his sometimes toxic cynicism.

Like it or not, Abrams has made the biggest impact on Star Trek for the first time since Harve Bennett and Nick Meyer in 1981.

Once the other TV spots become HD I will incorporate them into the above videos :)

Trek films have never been good representatives of the franchise, it was always meant to be a tv show, in that regards I find both of Abrams films to be successes, and yes...like it or not those films have put Trek on the map in a way that hasn't been done in a long LONG time.

STID still remains (with all it's flaws) the summer film to beat.

And he really, really doesn't like it.

I don't dislike the sequel like do... yet because I found it to be very entertaining but I felt that you made a lot of good points on Moviemoan.

This.

I think that is by far the Summer film to beat. My sister and I can't stop raving about it. That should.be a 9 in my sig.
I'm trying to see that today, if not then next weekend for sure.
