I think that is by far the Summer film to beat. My sister and I can't stop raving about it. That should.be a 9 in my sig.

My screening was nuts. Friday night. 7:00 PM.

Packed full of all Ethnicities. Black, Hispanic, White; Hell I even saw a family of Deliverance extras there. Young and old. And there was laughter, cheers and even "AWWWWWW YEAAAAAH" when... that person showed up during the End Credits.

That sounds like nearly the exact same experience I had. The movie got an honest to goodness applauds after it ended.

Trek films have never been good representatives of the franchise, it was always meant to be a tv show, in that regards I find both of Abrams films to be successes, and yes...like it or not those films have put Trek on the map in a way that hasn't been done in a long LONG time.

I agree too.

I'm more curious about Fast/Furious 7 aka "FFFFFFF". It seems like that one will be more lowkey than the previous two. Or at least that's what I got from the 'Los Angeles' comment.

Why were Senty and Project banned?

Also, I need to find a mate to see Fast 6 with.

It better be called Last Fast.

They were about even in my eyes.

What would you say is the best film of the summer so far Jamie?

Don't have a pick honestly. The Great Gatsby by default. Though I liked Iron Man 3 and Fast & Furious 6. Star Trek Into Darkness gets lower the more I think about it (The performances remain solid and the first hour-ish worked) and The Hangover Part III was unfunny crap.

Because right now, that title for me belongs to STID.

Fair enough.

Saw it a second time with a pal... who is a hardcore Trekker who loves the reboot. He dug the Hell outta it. So this notion that only the devoted fans are against what they did with Into Darkness is BS.

Then they're going to have a new movie, but it's going to be set in the future.

Fast Forward.

STID was a great film. MOS looks like a MASTERPIECE. And I didn't pull the Nolanite "TDK films are the only superhero movies with depth" nonsense when TDKR came out, though I think it's a mostly good film. I was curious to see how they would end the story, but not excited at how I thought Batman would be characterized. And I was somewhat apprehensive on how Bane would be handled, though it was better in some ways, and worse in others :cwink:

Fast 2 the Future.

They end up in different time periods. Johnson in the stone-age where he teaches the cavemen the wheel and how to shine your muscles. Diesel and Walker end up meeting Jesus and team up with him to race Satan.

The trailer moment/money-shot is Johnson punching a T-Rex in the jaw in Synder-style slow-mo.
