I thought Rises always looked underwhelming. None of the trailers, not even the much touted third and final (Nokia) trailers wowed me. Of course, i was in denial about how absolutely awesome the film would be then that I elected to put my emotions of disappointment deeply in my psych and acted like the footage was good.

I saw things that bugged me in the trailers too. However, I thought the movie would've won me over on those things much like how the Joker facepaint did. Heck, I remember saying to myself that in the worst case scenario, it will be a great stand-alone film even f it's not a good sequel or Batman film. It really shocked me that it was made by Christopher Nolan.

But that's a different topic for a different thread.

Depends on if he films his entire movie, or has to cut it down from an over 4 hour screen to an under 3 hour film.

The early draft is 150 pages, not 400 this time. That is a healthy start.

Hathaway*while great* was underused.
But then again, i feel Nolan and his brother just threw Catwoman in because hey, can't have a batman trilogy without Catwoman

I really, really like TDKR. It has it issues but imo, I still find it more enjoyable than Begins. Obviously, TDK was the best out of the three. I really feel there was no way to win with Rises. Maybe Nolan knew he couldn't beat TDK, so he just had his mindset at making a good third film in a series. I feel he accomplished that. Rises is a pretty good *although flawed* final film in a series.

One the major things that seem to happen during the script edit, is everyone got their story cut back outside of Bruce, Gordon and Blake. That would include Selina and Talia. It is also why everything up to Batman vs. Bane I seems so choppy.

I'm not a fan of Wrestling but I'll watch for MOS.

After the intense opening, the film really drags on a bit for the next fourty-ish mins.
I remember reading that in Ebert's review and agreeing.

Look the Nolan Trilogy has it's flaws, but for the most part, it's the best damn Superhero trilogy we've got. *so far* *cough cough, MOS trilogy*

Absolutely, you gotta be happy that they are promoting Man of Steel in a big way with that "sneak peek"

And yes, I do love Ambrose. He's my favorite member of Shield and probably second favorite wrestler behind Punk.

I still love TDKR. It just suffers from the cutting monster.

I agree. There is so much covered. And it suffered the "this movie should have really been over 3 hours to breathe, but we'll cut it down to 2 and a half."
It would have been nice to get more exposition on Selina. I was shocked quite frankly how amazing Hathaway was in the role. Really underestimated her.

I actually really like the first 40mins, but I understand the problem some have with it. Because it seems pieced together of larger ideas and scenes, it is all kinds of rough and thus a little hard to follow or invest in.

It almost plays like a "recap" of a much larger film. Not unlike what you get every season before Game of Thrones starts again. A HL reel that informs you of the major plot points you will need to keep up with for the new season, and you miss out on all the character and nuance. Or in this case, the first half of the film.

It is not until Batman is broken that the film settles down and begins to pace itself.

The good thing about them mentioning it on the air means it is a tie-in directly with WWE, not just with USA. With that being the case, they'll probably play it for the live crowd of (what I'm guessing is around) 15,000 when the show closes.
