Geez, do I have to choose between two films that I didn't care for?

I guess I'd choose TASM because at least Stone was charming as usual and it wasn't as dull as Returns.

She is quite charming  I hope the sequel improves, but not sure if I have good feelings about Jamie Foxx from the media I've seen thus far :o

I liked Garfield's Parker over Tobey's just because I don't think of Peter Parker as a Clark Kent type nerd. I enjoyed seeing him play it as the average guy with a streak of sarcasm to his personality. That's just me though, and I do understand there are a lot of fan of Tobey's version.
Fair enough. I wasn't asking for a repeat of Maguire's performance at all or the way his character was written, I just hated Peter Parker in TASM because I thought the character came off as incredibly selfish, mean spirited *****ebag. I just didn't like the character at all and once you don't like the lead character the movie is shot. Garfield is a great actor and I don't blame him for my feelings I blame the writers. I'm not trying to change your or anyone else's mind, just telling it like I see it.

That's the 12th for us. :woot:

Haha cool. I was just so happy that I got invited to an early screening at a Harkins Theatre here in Arizona and the wait for said date feels like an eternity. Can't the score just leak so it can ease the pain?! :csad:

I don't know why everyone clung to the Jenn quote when there was a quick review posted at the same time by someone with seemingly half a brain who says it's not at the level of BB. That concerned me alot more.

I guess being a Garfield fan well previous to TASM could be clouding my view somewhat as well. With that said, I think he is the right actor for the role but could see the argument that they were a bit too edgy with his sarcasm which could make him less endearing to some viewers. I definitely see where you are coming from. BUT for me, it was still more of what I expect for Peter Parker than what Raimi did with Tobey.

I dunno. Nuke the Fridge on twitter stated the reaction from most as crowning it as the "best comic book movie ever." We will have to see for ourselves. https://***********/NukeTheFridge/status/339878197103583232

Lucky you. I hope I'd be able to get tickets for an advanced screening on the 10th or 11th, as well.

I had planned to go to a different early screening but plans were cancelled in that state so going to see it on the 13th instead. It's all good though, looking forward to it!

Just avoid reviews till then (imo) and see it for yourself first Bran

I completely understand your feelings, I understand if some felt that Rami's Spidey was too geeky, eventhough I loved his version. Different strokes as they say. :)

Our civility in disagreement is commendable :D  If only I could have such disagreements with other members and still end up liking them in the end. lol

I do have to say, Spidey 2 is still towards the top of my list of fav superhero films and ahead of TASM even with me preferring Garfield's protrayal.

:funny:

A good heated argument is fine as long as certain lines aren't crossed. I clash with so many people but I end up liking most of em.

Does anyone know when the embargo is up? I'm assuming soon because there are lots of early screenings around the 6th, so there will be tons of reactions all over the net.

Thank you for the pics in the no discussion thread to whomever found them. This movie will be the best CBM, for me mind you, ever. I'm not really concerned with others opinions, though I do hope it does well for future sequels and such. But the trailers alone have proven it to be better than anything I've ever seen as of yet, so I am one happy camper!

I heard two different dates:
This Wednesday(5/5/13) or Monday the 10th(which is the date of the L.A. premiere).

Lmao, that Jenn person was just the tip of the iceberg, if that bothered you, steel yourselves now, because there will certainly be more people calling this film abysmal.
