Do you guys think we might get out first clip on Tuesday because Amy will be on the Ellen show along with Jimmy Kimmel Live. I mean it seems like a reasonable time to release the first clip.

I think so.

It does seem reasonable. I expected some clips earlier than this.

At the same time though, I'm happy we haven't gotten any.

There is no IMAX footage, so it'll be in the wider scope aspect ratio with black bars at the top and bottom of the IMAX screen. The main thing I'm wanting is to see it on as big of a screen as possible, but not in 3D. That is very hard to do since a lot of theaters will not provide a 2D option on their biggest screens if it's a 3D movie. But luckily WB is telling the theaters to at least offer some 2D IMAX showtimes for Man of Steel. :yay:

Ah IC... you know I saw Star Trek 2 in an Imax Digital theater... and I think IMAX has an upconvert algorithm for movies, where they in post production, create a special IMAX aspect ratio for the movie (I think it's 1.33:1), and that covers the entire screen top to bottom, side to side... so no black lines...

Now, I wish they also play that aspect ratio in 2D... not just play a regular wide screen format on the big screen because then it won't be as big or as immersive...

This movie will be interesting for me, because while I'm sure I saw the original movies at least once in my youth(I'm 22); I have no recollection of the plot, so no tie to them whatsoever. I'd say I'm decently well versed in Supes mythology, and loved Smallville(Though the show dragged a ton, and I skipped a season or two). I kind of feel like the reinvention angle they took on this one is perfect for fans like me. I never disliked the character of Superman; just never understood how/why I should root for him when there was never a conflict presented that I could relate to.

TL;DR All I'm saying is; I hope they have cracked the code so to speak of balancing that emotional connection to the plot and characters, while at the same time offering the entertainment and spectacle that blockbusters typically offer.

Well, you are watching the movie on Tuesday so it doesn't really matter.

I little off topic, but when it comes to using a character's moniker as the film's title, I think that maybe they should do that for a Wonder Woman movie and call it "AMAZON."

I love this movie so much.

Umm....well....umm....let's just say that, for me; Superman II has a great story, but neither cut tells it in the right way, with the possible exception of one but that's not official unless that man convinces the WB heads even after MOS hits and succeeds.

Fair enough. I don't prefer the ending to either film to be honest, but, if I had to choose, I'd go with Lester's ending.

just got back from walmart with 2 tickets guy said they had like 200 you all who haven't gotten yours yet may wanna check em out

rofl, the look on Superman's face was hilarious. I know he's not incredibly heavy, but I don't want to see Batman throwing Superman like that in a movie. The least Supes could have done was hover before he hit the table.

Maybe, it's all true ... I hope it is, but I have to laugh at this ... holy hyperbole Batman.

elmayimbe ‏@elmayimbe 6m WOW! Hearing from lots of folks that MAN OF STEEL scale is so dope & epic, that it makes THE AVENGERS look like a Syfy TV movie of the week!

You think that is bad? In my entire city, they aren't any 2d showings available for Man of Steel except for one little old beatdown theatre that doesn't allow pre-booking and isn't showing the movie until the night of June 14. The mandatory 2d screening on the local LieMAX was my only option (and a well-hidden one at that). Thanks for the heads-up on the select 2d Imax screenings, I would never have realized that there was a such an option otherwise.

Its like when people say that when they saw the first footage of Cavill making a face it was better acting than all of Superman Returns.

Did anyone notice this Reeve shout-out in TDKR Pt. 2? I didn't.

Yeah it was, kendalag posted it a few minutes ago.

Sounds great to me, though.
