It's not that my opinion isn't the most important to me. It's that it could very well become a popular opinion amongst a majority. I'm sure there's fans of the character of Rachael in the Dark Knight films, but they still have to put up with the overwhelming opinion that she was horrible.

They have to "put up" with the overwhelming opinion? Like its some burden? Haha. I don't care what the majority thinks, I watch these movies for myself. What I think about it matters. Why does it bother you that it could become a popular opinion amongst the majority? I don't get it.

Though Cavill can't quite top what Christopher Reeve did for the role of Superman nearly 30 years ago, he's certainly more fitting than Brandon Routh was, delivering just the right amount of gusto and wonder as the flying hero.

Here's my problem with review's.
3 years after this film drops all these points will be seen as nothing more than just another opinion. However it drops before the film and it's got all this value given to it. Never sits right with me.

Well it isnt is it. So lets wait

People keep saying its your own opinion on the film that matters, yea thats true. But only so until after you've seen it. Cause right now the reactions/reviews is the only thing you have to gauge the movie on. If there is something a majority of people feel, its reasonable to think you would fall in that camp also.

People love hearing the glowing reviews cause that increases the possibility that you'll enjoy it to that extent also. But if there is a constant negative that is pointed out, there's a good chance you would feel the same after seeing the movie.

From his review it sounds like I'll be blown away since I don't have the hang-ups he does. (Only listened to the first part. Can't spoil myself).
Yeah I really don't have that attachment to Christopher Reeve's portrayal, although I certainly respect it, and the people that feel that way.

But I'm definitely ready for Cavill to personify the more modern take on the character that I think is closer to the comics I grew up with.

Reeve had the personality, charm, and presence of Superman. There's a reason why there's only been one other actor besides Cavill to fill his shoes.

That being said, the movies themselves are accomplishments given that they are first superhero blockbusters-and a lot of fun to boot.

But in the wake of the more dramatic narrative style of introspective superhero movies, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, Iron Man, they come a bit short. Since he likes it better than Superman: TM and the other reviewer liked it as much as TDK, I think we're in to something awesome, with a few flaws. Plus, I think MOS has unrealistic expectations that Batman Begins didn't have to live up to.

As far as Adams as Lane, if she's the weakest aspect of the film, it would be a testament to how strong the film and cast is overall.

"Don't feel bad if you can't get into a 3D screening", that made me LOL.

I don't know about that.

Nevermind. I meant among fans :)

Non-fans are like: Trailer 3) This looks neat. Trailer 4) This looks spectacular.
Trailer 1 ) Too dark. Trailer 2) Is superman supposed to be dramatic?

For me, I really liked trailer 2, and was blown away by trailer 3. I'm already telling myself that there's no way the finished product could have the same effect as trailer 3 did on me :)

The guy seriously thinks Superman II is better than Superman: The Movie? Must be one of the few.
As for "Commander Zod" and "Terence Mann".

"Not as good as Terrence Stamp?" I personally think Shannon will be a much better Zod as his
character appears to be much more developed in MOS, not to mention a hell of a lot more
intimidating. And pointing out the Superman beard thing is very picky indeed. It's a shame someone
can come away from a movie with something so insignificant stuck in their head.

8/10 is a very decent rating nonetheless. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it more that this guy if Superman II is the pinnacle lol

Woo hoo just won tickets from a radio station to see it next Tuesday at 7pm!! Now that's tickets secure for Tuesday and Thursday evening and Friday afternoon lol

I don't have much affection for the original films, as a matter of I flat out don't think that they are good films. I like Reeve and the cast and the flying effects but that is it. I'm not even going to be comparing MOS to what I feel are mostly poorly aged films. I'm just going to watch it and decide if I enjoy it or not.

I liked Superman 2 more than the first one but only because I like my Superheroes to fight more than evil land obsessed guys.

Yeah, it'd be hard for MOS to top this: [YT]wI1UVDOuMqE[/YT]
That is LEGITIMATELY one of the worst things in the history of comic book movies. Simply atrocious.

I mean, lol wut ... if something like that happened in MOS we'd all be screaming about how dumb Snyder is.

Everything about that 14 seconds was... Off. The "S" (duh), Lois' reaction shot, Superman's reaction shot. The fact that someone thought of that, AND it was actually filmed.

^ To be fair, that was Lester's doing. But Donner had the turning back the world ending-twice ;)

What exactly makes Superman II so difficult to top or even the first one for that matter?

People need to be able to look beyond the nostalgic feeling they have for a movie. I love Batman '89 like crazy,
one of the first movies I remember seeing as a kid. As much a I love it, Batman Begins is the better movie.
It doesn't mean I think any less of '89. Get over it! Superman I & II can and I think, will be topped.

If I give Man of Steel a 7 out of 10 it's the best live action Superman to me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I like it more than that, that I finally get a good Superman movie.

And none of my posts were a response to a review, I don't agree or disagree with any review because I haven't seen the film yet.

And the whole Super kiss and Lois forgets everything. Just lazy writing, honestly. :whatever:
Can you imagine the amount of flack a movie would get nowadays for such stupidity?
