Egg him more

Sorry, but Returns is worse than 3 and 4?
You're entitled to that opinion. Doesn't make it right or wrong. But still.
Actually there is a Superman Returns section to that conversation. Hint.
I love Superman Returns. It's one of my five favorite superhero films... Never really understood the intense backlash. Obviously I understand why many don't like it, but the assertion that it was a terrible film is just completely unwarranted and makes me question people's taste. Same goes for Ang Lee's Hulk. How good it was is debatable, as well as the quality of the interpretation of the characters, but I don't see how many can justify saying it was an awful film.
The only thing about the SR that was truly awful (IMO, obviously) was Kate Bosworth. She was terrible, and deserves all the hate she gets. The rest of the criticism just seems like fanboy nitpicking and unwarranted venom.
The really sad thing are the people who liked it at first but have since "realized" how flawed it was... Had to fit in with the fanboy/internet community I guess.
I dont want to talk about that movie anymore. I've had enough of it for a lifetime.
Liked i said, at least Superman was in character in those movies. And when he wasnt, it was explained why.
Superman, in Singer's movie, was reluctant to save people (he almost didnt go to save the plane), reluctant to go back to metropolis if it wasnt for his mother, no shirt rip( CG shirt rip doesnt count), spying on people, broke a family. etc
Sorry but better effects( Even that can be argued), better production values, beautiful sets and more money doesnt save characterization and story imo.
Should I go on?
SR is just a really bad movie. It an expensive BAD movie. And that's why it didnt get a sequel.
People were too happy that Superman returned to the theaters after a long time. I was one of them. I brought 5 friends to watch the movie because i believed in my heart it would be a good one and it would show people whos the boss. But when the movie really sink in, after the excitement, people started to understand how bad it really is.
That why we should pray this one is good. PRAY!!!!

The good things about SR werent even Singer's idea. They were stolen from JJ Abrams script that he should even sue them for that.
Yeah, I hope so. Most of all, I just hope they understand that the movie needs to be fun. I'm worried that (like SR) everyone in the film is going to act like the world is one big giant funeral.
Thats cool then. But still, my point still stands that Singer didnt bring anything new to the table and the thing fans praise the most, ie, the plane sequence, wasnt his idea at all so he shouldn't take credit for it.Now you're just completely and sadly uniformed in regards to the situation and Hollywood in general.
WB wanted anybody doing a Superman movie to use as much of what had been written or created previously in any new movie that was made. They paid for what was done, and wanted to see that money they spent on screen. See the plane sequence and some other bits and pieces.
Also, Abrams can't sue anybody because he didn't have rights to the script, WB did. So they could do what they wanted with it.
Now enough Superman Returns talk.

Yeah. Enough!
I really think WBs will have learned from that movies mistakes. Also I'm really not worried I'm pretty confident that Nolan & Goyer have writtena fantastic script and that Snyder will satisy the visuals to the scenes from the scripts with the fantastic actors we have doing the dialogue justice. I really do think this movies gonna be up there with the Dark Knight.

Selective how? Im saying that Singer doesnt deserve the praise he got from that scene because it was from JJ Abrams script and thats it. Who cares if it he was allowed to use it? He could've come up with a different, more original idea if he looked at the comics. Oh. That's right. He never did. He was making a movie for the Devil Wears Prada audience. And my point still stands that the film is fine. Leave it at that.
Yeah. Enough.

BTW, If its an open discussion, why cant we talk about SR here too? Maybe you guys shouldnt have this kind of topic here then. Or maybe then you guys should be so goddamn strict about the whole situation. We're having a decent normal conversation about and nobody is calling people names and all.
I dont remember much. I have to read it again but I always thought they were quite similar. And it fit JJ script much more than Singers because of the action beats and all.Singer wanted to do a plane sequence on his own accord, and WB wanted him to use what was already there in regards to plane sequence that Abrams came up with. If you read both scripts, they are different, despite both being plane sequences anyway. Also, by that token, did Abrams steal the idea from Fleischer's Japoteurs & Atom Man vs Superman w/Kirk Alyn?
There. I changed the title. So we're covered.![]()
